    The purpose of this article is to present the political anthropology as a subdiscipline of anthropology and political science, because the term exists in both.However, both the term and the subject of research, as well as methodological approaches are differ. This situation should develop political anthropology, especially in political science, but it didn’t. Political anthropology has a long tradition in Western science. As a field of anthropology has a little over 100 years,from the position of political science dates back to its origin in ancient Greece. Political anthropology was included in the curriculum in higher education.

    Opis:
    In its first part, the article shows the variety of interpretations of “political anthropology” within scientific research and proposes their classification. Coming from that point, in the second part of the article, the author presents the arguments on the need of different from up to date existing anthropological approach within political science research. Taking into account that crucial problems of current political discourse are connected with different visions of man presented by different political actors, the author shows that only by integrating the two methodological approaches in political anthropology (philosophical and ethno-cultural) political science can successfully tackle the most important issues of current political discourse.

    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie ogólnego poziomu aktywności wyborczej oraz jej uwarunkowania. Materiałem badawczym są reprezentatywne badania na próbie 700 mieszkańców Łodzi i 437 mieszkańców Iwanowa, zrealizowane w ramach projektu „Odrodzenie miast postprzemysłowych”. Poczynione analizy potwierdzają niskie zainteresowanie sferą aktywności wyborczej w obu analizowanych miastach. Odnotowano większą aktywność obywatelską mieszkańców Iwanowa w porównaniu do łodzian we wszystkich rozpatrywanych elementach. Potwierdzono wpływ wieku, poziomu wykształcenia na poziom aktywności wyborczej w obu omawianych jednostkach badawczych.
    The article opens to scrutiny the phenomenon of the political activity and the level of political activity. Empirical basis for this article is the research material gathered in the framework of the project „Revival of post-industrial cities”. The practical base for this article is the research material covered a representative group among the 700 citizens of Lodz and 437 citizens of Ivanowo. This analysis confirms the low interest sphere of political activity in both the analyzed cities (greater active citizens of Ivanowo). The research confirmed the influence of age, level of education on the level of political activity in both town.

    Opis:
    As soon as the Middle Ages Poland established contacts with the Republic of Venice. The origin of the contacts should be looked for in the ecclesiastical-organizational as well as political-diplomatic relations. In the field of diplomacy both the republics were brought close by the issue of the Turkish threat and their joint work against the Habsburg monarchy. Constant contacts were also seen in the sphere of trade. From the Veneto region cloths, precious stones, glass and books were imported to the Jagiellonian state. Poland sold Polish cochineal, skins, fur coats, corn. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth attracted Venetians with various social statuses; and it was not infrequent that they settled here for good. There were merchants, artisans, musicians, medicine doctors, clergymen and people of other trades between them. They entered court, church and bourgeois structures. Migration of the people coming from Veneto gathered momentum at the beginning of the 16th century, along with the development of the Renaissance. Artists – goldsmiths, architects, sculptors – came, as they were employed at the royal court and in magnate estates. Various artistic items were imported from Venice to Poland. Poles willingly travelled to the town on the lagoons and they expressed their delight with it in poems, memoirs and letters. A lot of outstanding Poles studied in Padua – a superb center of European academic thought. The Commonwealth of Both Nations and the Most Serene Republic of Venice were joined by affinities in a variety of fields of broadly understood culture. There was a constant flow of people, ideas, goods and works of art between them.
