Opis:
The article presents selected dimensions (and in the author’s opinion the leading ones) of upbringing that point to the specific character of the course of this process in the family. They concern its prototypical, relative, complementary and progressive character. These dimensions seem to be especially important in the initial characterization of the educational function that is typical of the family and that is carried on by it. They can be considered the key ones, albeit certainly not the only ones, as e.g. the issues of communication, family atmosphere, styles of upbringing, styles of education, educational consciousness and the like should also be included here. However, the aspects presented above seem to be superior, even if for the reason that they imply a lot of other, more specific problems, as well as because of challenges offered by modern times, for instance the issue of identity formation, or of deprecating parental roles in some circles, and promoting the cult of professional or economic career. The presented issues are a special object of cognition in family pedagogy, and they are described from the perspective of this pedagogical sub-discipline.

Opis:
The article is about the process of developing the personality of a family minister according to the concept of Father Piotr Poręba. The personality of a family minister is shown as the general type of behaviour and the way of acting conditioned by the biological condition, the psychical condition and the family background of the family minister. In the general formulation of the issue, the author distinguishes the features and the attitudes of the family minister's personality. The main features of a family minister are: the vocation, the care for the family life, the pastoral abilities, the ability to observe and to properly judge a situation, the social skills, the ability to sympathize to a family; whereas the attitudes of a family minister are the ones proving: the living faith, the coexistence, the eagerness to communicate with others, the eagerness to serve, the selfless, unconditioned love, and the Christian authenticity. The personality of a family minister develops through the innate activity as well as through the influence of other people.

Opis:
Over the years people fulfilling the honorable task of helping, especially youths, to develop, used definite conceptions of education. In preparing the society to live according to the truths of the Christian faith, the Church invariably ascribed a great role to education. The way education and its character were understood developed during the 2000 years of Christianity and became the basis for the tradition of the European education in general. Especially in the period between the two World Wars foundations were laid for the theoretical basis of the Catholic education. It should be stated with all certainty that Father Marian Pirożyński of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, commonly called Redemptorists, is one of the people who can be numbered among the propagators of the Catholic educational thought. The Church's thought focused on such a direction of education that would make the pupil strive after forming a true and ideal Christian in himself, that is after achieving a fully human character; hence the views inspired by these thoughts – as in the case of Rev. Marian Pirożyński – may be called Catholic pedagogy. Pirożyński eagerly propagated elements of the Church's official teaching in his writings. He opposed pedagogical naturalism that reduced education to using only natural means, in this way excluding or limiting Christian formation by negating the existence of both sin and grace. The Catholic conception of education realized in schools between the Wars had an integral character not only because it took into consideration the supernatural aim of pedagogical activities, but also through physical, intellectual and spiritual development of the pupils. From today's point of view it can also be called open pedagogy that, without blurring the man's multi-aspect relation to the world of nature, recognizes man's transcendental dimension and his relation to God. Pirożyński turns out to be not only an ardent propagator, but also a decided defender of such education.

Opis:
Personalistic moral education in catechesis primarily involves accompanying human being in his development, which should aim at the fullness of humanity and self-empowerment as the human person. Personalistic moral formation is based on the human person and his inalienable and irreducible dignity. Catechesis, conveying the moral message, does not teach one of many theories of human good conduct, but explains the truth about the human being as a person, his inalienable dignity. The teaching of morality is, therefore, no savoir-vivre, but is ontic in character, i.e. involves personal creativity and leads the human person to perfection and sanctity. A personalistic approach to moral education requires that the human being should not only be the executor of the Divine law, but a co-host, invited to seek the truth. Hence in the personalistic approach, moral formation is not a technique of influencing the person and does not require respect of norms and obligations. Nor does it concentrate on the deification of the law and legality or involve moralising, but is based on the meeting and communion of the human person with Jesus Christ and on the following and imitation of His Person. The entire process of moral education is to benefit the person and help her to be more herself, to assure her dignity through moving from the humanity of nature to the humanity of the person.

Opis:
Representatives of Polish intellectual and political elites of the last period of the partitions and of the Second Republic saw a necessity of eliminating from the Polish national mental life the faults that would make it difficult to 'form the nation' that would match the needs of an independent state. Lack of diligence and underestimating economic values, idealism, individualism, excessive emotionality were considered the leading Polish national faults. As the example of the Wąwolnica school shows, overcoming them, which was an essential postulate in the basics of national education, had a rather verbal character until the May coup. The programme was practically put into effect mainly in the course of lessons of manual work, where the pupils first of all exercised the virtue of diligence. The programme of eliminating Polish faults continued by the 'Sanacja' system was focused not only on diligence but on appreciacion of economic values (thriftiness, cooperative movement) and on collective work as well. Work on faults at schools had a planned and multi-level character. It was done in the form of lectures and of celebrating certain issues on particular days; from the end of the 1920s it was developed in pupils' organizations, and after the Jędrzejowicz's reform the problem was given more space in the curriculas and handbooks. There are premises leading to the conclusion that the programme of overcoming the faults brought real changes in the Polish society of that time; however, schooling was far from general, which means that not all the children subject to the schooling duty were included in the programme. On the other hand, it is known that it reached some of the adult representatives of the society.
