    Opis:
    This article concerns about family thread in description of Perpetuae’s martyrdom in 3rd century Carthage. It describes Perpetuae’s family structure, family form upper strata of Roman Africa society, but not from aristocracy. The main function has father but almost equal in prestige is his daughter – Perpetua. Her husband was not mention text did not mention, except from the fact of being a father. Similar faint role have two living brothers. Story focus more on the youngest dead brother, that died in torment from deceased. Author suggest that Perpetua form unknown reason have advantage in prestige above her pagan father, implements, from her martyrdom, plan for salvation all of her family. This “altruistic” plan is to shorten posthumous torments for not baptise brother and to end members of family dilemma, torn between new religion and tradition. It makes Perpetua, a heroic person, that sacrifice upbringing of her child for the sake of rest family. This text’s meaning is rather exceptional for the early Christian literature and it definitely exclude authorship from Tertullian because of his view on women.

    The article presents a kind of attempt of applying typological exegesis to the text of 4 Macc. In the light of the analyzes carried out, it is clear that the seven martyr brothers can be seen as a type of Christ: a number seven, determining number of brothers - the type of perfection of the person of Christ; the origin of the seven brothers from Abraham - the type of origin of Christ; directing by the brothers “pious reason” - the type of surrendering to the Father’s will through Christ; persuasion of Antiochus IV - the type of Christ’s temptation by the devil; the martyr’s sacrifice/victim of the brothers - the type of saving sacrifice of Christ; “established in heaven” brothers - the type of Christ’s ascension. Bearing in mind that 4 Macc drew from 2 Macc or from the same sources, one can state that the manner of presenting the seven brothers by the author of the first century AD, whose history took place in the second century BC, even more - in a typological perspective - brought them closer to the person of Christ. In this context, the mother of seven brothers deserves attention, whose person could be interpreted as a type of Mary - Mother of Christ.
    W niniejszym artykule została przedstawiona swego rodzaju próba zastosowania egzegezy typologicznej do tekstu 4 Mch. W świetle przeprowadzonych analiz widać wyraźnie, że siedmiu braci męczenników może być postrzeganych jako typ Chrystusa: liczba siedem, określająca ich ilość -  typem doskonałości osoby Chrystusa; pochodzenie siedmiu braci od Abrahama - typem pochodzenia Chrystusa; kierowanie się przez braci „pobożnym rozumem” - typem poddania się woli Ojca przez Chrystusa; namowy Antiocha IV - typem kuszenia Chrystusa przez diabła; męczeńska ofiara braci - typem ofiary zbawczej Chrystusa; „utwierdzeni w niebie” braci - typem wniebowstąpienia Chrystusa. Posługując się cytowanym wyżej stwierdzeniem św. Ireneusza, można powiedzieć, że rzeczywiście w 4 Mch ukryty jest Chrystus za pomocą typów, które związane są z postaciami siedmiu braci machabejskich.  Mając natomiast na uwadze fakt, że 4 Mch czerpała z 2 Mch lub z tych samych źródeł, można stwierdzić, iż sposób przedstawienia przez autora z I w. po Chr. siedmiu braci, których historia rozegrała się w II w. przed Chr., jeszcze bardziej - w perspektywie typologicznej  - przybliżył ich do Osoby Chrystusa. W tym kontekście na uwagę zasługuje także matka siedmiu braci, której osobę można byłoby zinterpretować  jako typ Maryi - Matki Chrystusa.

    Autor prezentuje tu uszczegółowione wyniki swoich badań na religijną przeszłością luterańskiej społeczności z miejscowości Rösnitz (dzisiejsza polska nazwa Rozumice) na Górnym Śląsku. Wieś ta jest położona na granicy z dzisiejszą Republiką Czeską. Dziś jest to miejsce pamięci związane z ciągłością protestanckiej tradycji, wliczając w to ruchy przedreformacyjne, od XV wieku. Ciągłość wyznania luterańskiego od 1523 roku społeczności, którą badania autora wykazały, przeczy generalizującej tezie, mówiącej o całkowitej rekatolizacji Górnego Śląska. W tym artykule wyeksponowano jeden z wątków historii tego miejsca pamięci – różnorodności protestanckiej tradycji, jaką ukazują badania przeszłości tej społeczności luterańskiej. Na tę różnorodną tradycję składają się przedreformacyjne ruchy chrześcijańskie, do których należą bracia morawscy, z którymi jeszcze przed końcem XV wieku nawiązali kontakt mieszkańcy Rösnitz. W wierzeniach tej społeczności pojawiają się też wątki charakterystyczne dla waldensów, znane na Śląsku. Ruchy te przygotowały społeczność rozumiczan na przyjęcie luteranizmu. W okresie kontrreformaji społeczność ta nie poddała się rekatolizacji. Później silnie oddziałuje tu ruch pietystyczny, sam hrabia Ludwik von Zinzendof odwiedza Rösnitz, gdzie przemawia do licznie tu zgromadzonych z okolicznych miejscowości przebudzonych. Dochodzi nawet do rozłamu w dotąd zjednoczonej gminie, którego skutkiem było wyemigrowanie zwolenników jednoty braterskiej do Herrnhut.
    The author presents here the detailed results of his research on the religious past of the Lutheran community of Rösnitz (today’s Polish name Rozumice) in Upper Silesia. This village is situated on the border with today’s Czech Republic. Today it is a place of remembrance of the continuity of Protestant tradition, including pre-reform movements, since the 15th century. The continuity of the Lutheran denomination of the community since 1523 of the, which the author’s research has shown, contradicts the generalized thesis of total recatholization of Upper Silesia. This article highlights one issue of the memorial site – the diversity of the Protestant tradition shown by the research of the past of this Lutheran community. This diverse tradition consists of pre-reformation Christian movements, including the Moravian Brothers, with whom the inhabitants of Rösnitz had already established contacts before the end of the 15th century. In the beliefs of this community, there are also themes characteristic for Waldensians who were known in Silesia. These movements prepared Rösnitz dwellers for the acceptance of Lutheranism. During the counterreformation period, the community did not undergo a recatholization. Later, Pietism strongly influenced the area, Count Ludwik von Zinzendof himself visits Rösnitz, where he speaks to the many gathered there from the surrounding villages. It even came to a split in this so far united municipality, which resulted in the emmigration of followers of Unita Fratrum to Herrnhut.

    Jesus is usually an object of someone’s testimony in the Gospel of St. John, but there are a few texts speaking of Jesus as the One who gives or bears His testimony to something. Accepting as a criterion the occurrences of the terms marture,w („to bear testimony”) and marturi,a („testimony”) – the noun ma,rtuj („witness”) does not occur in the Fourth Gospel – it is possible to distribute them into four categories: (1) Jesus “testifies about what he has seen and heard” (3:32-33), which means He reveals His Father to the world. (2) Jesus testifies about Himself (5:31.[36]; 8:13-14.17-18; [10,25]) – and He is supported in this by His Father – that He did nothing wrong healing a sick man at the Bethesda pool, even though it happened on the Sabbath (cf. 5:1-9); (3) Jesus “is testifying about the world that its deeds are evil” (7:7) seeing as – some Jews even wanted to kill Him (cf. 7:1.19.25.30.44); (4) Jesus testifies to the truth (18:37), which ultimately means the definitive revelation of God which Jesus brings to the world and with which He identifies Himself (cf. 14:6). Sentenced by Pilate, dying on the cross, Christ – in the most credible way – testified to love: This truth about God – obligating Jesus’ disciples to also assume this attitude in their lives (cf. 13:14.34-35) – can be expressed by a principle: “no one has greater love than this – that one lays down his life for his friends” (15:13).

    The article presents the place of martyrdom of both the seven Maccabean brothers and their mother, and the adoration of them according to the Bishop Augustine of Hippo. The worship developed in the 4th century and it also reached Africa. However, it demanded justification, due to the Old Testament character of the revered people. The Bishop provided an opportunity to present the essence of Christian martyrdom and loyalty to Christ and His people, to emphasize the value of the testimony and its authenticity. He also encouraged to polemics with Judaism and some of the pagan practices which were sometimes taken also by the Christians.
