The author formulates the topic in a synthetical way, elaborating on it in three parts: Hebrew Bible, deuterocanonical books and message of the New Testament. The fake dilemma (gerontocracy or gerontophobia) is overcome in the light of Revelation: Bible presents the wisdom as a source of truth and goodness, and as a solidarity with the elderly, because only the truth can set people free (J 8, 23). The truth revealed in Christ can also overcome the modern forms of discrimination in the world.

Zasada przekładu według Hieronima w teorii i praktyce Hieronim ze Strydonu (347-419), jeden z czterech wielkich Ojcόw KościołaZachodniego, przeszedł do historii jako tłumacz Biblii. Jego zainteresowanie PismemŚwiętym, oczytanie w dziełach wczesnych pisarzy chrześcijańskich oraz znajomość językagreckiego i hebrajskiego sprawiły, że był uważany przez wspόłczesnych za eksperta wdziedzinie egzegezy biblijnej. Dzięki korespondencji z papieżem Damazym zrodziła się idearewizji wielu istniejących, rόżniących się od siebie przekładόw Ewangelii na podstawietekstόw źrόdłowych. Wkrόtce jednak rozpoznano konieczność rozszerzenia prac rewizyjnychrόwnież na księgi Starego Testamentu, ktόre Hieronim postanowił tłumaczyć, opierając się natekstach hebrajskich, a nie jak dotychczas na LXX. Innowacyjność tego przedsięwzięcianapotkała na krytykę i sprzeciw w wielu kręgach kościelnych. Obawiano się ogromnegowpływu, jaki Hieronim mόgł wywrzeć na kształt Biblii dzięki swojemu nowemu przekładowiopierającemu się na oryginalnych tekstach źrόdłowych i zachowującemu sens przekazywanejzbawczej treści a nie zachowującemu jej dosłownego brzmienia, co byłoby rόwnoznaczne zdetronizacją Septuaginty.

The article present the famous canons of Eusebius transmitted in medival version of the Bible of Plock (Poland). The Author hopes that publication of it will help scholars to develope a comparative studies between different manuscripts of medival Europe in order to conclude if there were one or more its versions in Middle Ages. Canons in so called “Bible of Plock” are slightly different from the version we can find in the internet (www.tertulian.org/fathers/eusebius_canon_ tables_01.html) but these differences are caused rather by a copist’s errors and don’t prove at all that in medival Poland or Europe there were in use a different canon versions. We need further comparative studies in this aerea and only afther these there will be possible to draw final conclusions.

The standard interpretation of the biblical idea of the image of the God in Genesis (Gen 1:26 ff.), so called ontic interpretation, which sees in Him a religious basis for the metaphysical dogma of the creation of a man as a spiritual-corporeal being, is detached from its biblical meaning. For the biblical authors, the primary issue is not the question what kind of the human being was called by the God from nothingness into being, but that when the human being receives the status of the image and character of the God in the existential dimension. John the Baptist reached the status of the image of God at the time when he became the Anthropos (John 1:6). In turn, Paul, by the moving of the idea of the image of Jesus as a man at the turning point of the process of salvation (Romans 8:29), created the foundation for the study of triple-imaging of the God as in Jesus, as well as in initiated.

W prezentowanym artykule dokonano przeglądu XIX-wiecznych wydań Nowego Testamentu w języku polskim celem odnalezienia modeli edytorskich, według których pojawiały się kolejne edycje. W pracy uwzględniono docelowo 68 wydań, które ukazały się na przestrzeni lat 1815-1900. 34 spośród nich bazowały na tłumaczeniu przyjętym w Biblii Gdańskiej a 34 na tłumaczeniu Jakuba Wujka. Spośród analizowanych edycji wskazano na 27, według których ukazywały się kolejne polskie wydania Nowego Testamentu (w XIX wieku). Obok zidentyfikowanych poszczególnych modeli, w pracy zaproponowano także 7 linii edycyjnych.
The presented article reviews publications of 19th century Polish New Testament in order to find editorial models upon which subsequent editions were based. The work considers 68 editions published between 1815–1900. The first half of them were based on the translation adopted in the Danzig Bible and the second half on the translation by Jakub Wujek. Among the analyzed editions, 27 were identified, according to which subsequent Polish New Testament were published (in the 19th century). In addition to the editorial models indicated, the work also proposes 7 editing lines.

Copying the basic religious texts, apart from reading and meditating theological works, constituted the content of literate culture of the Middle Ages, as in the popular medieval culture there was a deep-rooted belief that writing a code is a good deed that can bring salvation to copyists. Developed in the early Middle Ages, intensive literate culture affected, above all, the sacred and religious sphere. The vital change, commonly known as a great breakthrough in the literate culture of Latin Europe, occurred at the turn of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Then the pragmatic literacy came into being. Apart from religious literacy, still popular especially in monastic and cathedral scriptoria, practical literacy began to develop, which contributed to the improvement of daily life, mainly, political and economic life in Europe at that time. This process happened in the broad context of important institutional and intellectual transformations occurring in the European society and culture for nearly three centuries.

Wzajemna więź słowa Bożego i Eucharystii – stołu słowa i stołu Ciała Chrystusa – jest tradycyjnym tematem w literaturze teologicznej, a w życiu Kościoła jest to istotna rzeczywistość o podstawowym znaczeniu duchowym i egzystencjalnym. Zasługą II Soboru Watykańskiego jest ponowne zwrócenie uwagi na ten paralelizm, pokazując wierzącym konieczność karmienia się w życiu chrześcijańskim zarówno Pismem Świętym, czyli słowem Bożym spisanym, głoszonym w liturgii, nauczanym na lekcjach religii, jak również Eucharystią, czyli substancjalną obecnością Chrystusa, najwyższym dobrem duchowym Kościoła i każdego wierzącego. W konsekwencji zarówno Pismu Świętemu, jak i Eucharystii należy okazywać właściwą cześć, uzależnioną od typów obecności Chrystusa.
What relation occurs between the written word of God and the Eucharist? Presented in this article response to the above question, follows the line of teaching contained within the Dogmatic Constitution of Dei Verbum of Second Vatican Council. The Council has made the appreciation of the word of God undeniable and directly associated it with the celebration of the Eucharist, however, there is nothing in the Council’s teaching that would allow to equate the importance of the Christ’s presence in the scripture with His presence in the Eucharist. The statements of the Church following the Second Vatican Council clearly confirm this, therefore the occurring difference should be a point of reference for the formulation of the diverse proposals concerning Bible’s presence in the house of God.

The “founding texts” of each civilization shape the meaning of important issues for the lives of individuals and entire human communities. Such texts include the “holy books” of the Old and New Testaments and the Qur’an, called the “threelaws” or “rules of life”. Each of these “rules of life” outlines a certain idea of war, which is one of the basic human experiences. A short comparative study shows the different emphases. The Old Testament shows Israel’s historical wars in which God becomes involved. The New Testament does not deal with the issue of war at all in the military sense, but shifts the emphasis to spiritual warfare. The Quran devotes a lot of space to war, especially religious war, without referring to the specific history of the nation, but points to the rules that a devout Muslim should follow during a conflict, including armed conflict.
„Teksty założycielskie” każdej cywilizacji kształtują znaczenia istotnych kwestii dla życia jednostek i całych wspólnot ludzkich. Do takich tekstów należą „święte księgi” Starego i Nowego Testamentu oraz Koranu, nazywane „trzema prawami” albo „zasadami życia”. Każda z tych „zasad życia” rysuje pewną ideę wojny, która jest jednym z podstawowych doświadczeń ludzkich. Krótkie studium porównawcze skupia się na odmiennych akcentach. Stary Testament ukazuje historyczne wojny Izraela, w które angażuje się Bóg. Nowy Testament w ogóle nie zajmuje się kwestią wojny w sensie militarnym, ale przesuwa akcent na walkę duchową. Koran poświęca wojnie, zwłaszcza religijnej, wiele miejsca, nie odnosząc się do konkretnych historii narodu, ale wskazuje na reguły, jakimi powinien kierować się pobożny muzułmanin podczas konfliktu, także zbrojnego.

La littérature sapientiale de la Bible est centrée sur l’homme, sur sa conduite pratique de la vie individuelle, familiale et sociale. D’autre part pourtant, les livres sapientiaux dessignent l’image de l’homme qui – pour parvenir à la pleine réalisation de soi-même – ne peut pas se limiter à la dimension pratique de la vie. Ses propres efforts et l’expérience des âges créent une première dimension de la recherche de ce qui est bon pour l’homme. Certaines questions qui ne trouvent pas les réponses dans cette dimension ouvrent l’homme à une dimension nouvelle – cette de la foi. L’homme en tant que créature, est conduit à la vraie sagesse qui est plus intérieure - puisqu’elle commence avec la crainte de Dieu, et très concrète – puisqu’on la trouve dans le livre de l’alliance qui nous lie au Dieu très-haut (Sir 24,23). Voilà une accomplissement naturelle de la recherche de l’homme demandant où trouver la voie vers la vie accomplie, pleine et heureuse. La première partie de cet article nous offre l’analise des étapes de l’itinéraire de l’homme qui le conduit à la rencontre avec la Parole de Dieu.Dans la deuxième partie de l’article on nous propose la réflexions qui cherche à répondre à la question suivante: quelle est la relation entre le livre de l’alliance proposé comme source de la sagesse avec d’autres parties de la Bible, surtout avec cette partie du canon qu’on appelle la littérature de sagesse.
