    Opis:
    Recent studies on the role of the eyewitnesses in the formation of the Gospel tradition argue for the singular importance of the original followers of Jesus. Luke himself might reflect their unique standing with his stated reliance on “the eyewitnesses and the servants of the word” (1,2). Still, Luke’s expansion of the Markan call of Peter seems, to many modern scholars at least, precisely that – a literary reworking of the original Markan story. Luke thus appears to resort to literary fiction to confirm the authority of those who guarantee the non-fictional character of his narrative. The conflicting nature of this operation needs to be reexamined. As this article argues, the recent studies on the Lake of Galilee, Simon Peter, and the role of the eyewitnesses offer enough evidence to suggest that in composing the story of the call of Peter, Luke relied on a source that depicted the call in connection with the fishing miracle. Secondly, existence of such a tradition opens new possibilities for reconstructing the past so differently narrativized by Luke and Mark.

    Opis:
    The present article focuses on the construction of characters in Luke 7:36-50. The author uses the tools of narrative analysis to illumine the way in which the narratordescribes the three main protagonists of the story: Simon, the Pharisee, woman called a sinner, and Jesus. Simon clearly plays a secondary role in the narration serving as a negative background for the presentation of woman and introducing the main theme of the identity of Jesus. The woman, although being presented by the narrator as a sinner, is eventually put forward as a model of love and faith. However, she also plays a secondary role with respect to Jesus around whom all the story revolve. He is the one that attracts all the attention of the story. His voice resounds with authority suppressing even the voice of the narrator and giving interpretation to the behavior of other characters. The image and identity of Jesus, which is the main point of narrator’s interest, goes well beyond the traits of rabbi and master pointing at his divinity.

    Opis:
    The story of the sinful woman (Luke 7:36-50) is an excellent example of Luke’s narrative skills. It presents a coherent plot, abounds in interesting turning points, and shows a vivid interaction between main characters. In the same time, the story is filled with tensions, gaps and ambiguity which regard the gestures of the woman, the forgiveness she receives, and the role which in the entire process is played by Jesus. The purpose of the present article lies in illumining the development of Luke’s account with the use of the narrative approach. The story is divided into scenes and set up in the spatial-temporal, and socio-cultural frame. The scheme of the narration is labeled as a plot of discovery. Its focal point is not the love or faith of the sinful woman, but the identity of Jesus. The full revelation of his divine authority takes place in the pardon of sins granted to the woman (vv.47a.48), which brings to completion the ongoing process of her reconciliation. The article finishes with the analysis of interaction between the text and its readers and with the exposition of the techniques used by the narrator to shape the competences and the choices made by the recipients of the story.

    Każda z ksiąg biblijnych odsłania swe orędzie teologiczne w bardzo zróżnicowany sposób literacki. W analizowanym wersecie 1 Mch 14,5 – jak i wszystkich pozostałych w księdze – zastosowany został centon, znany i praktykowany w starożytności gatunek literacki. Łączy w sobie poszczególne sformułowania wersetów wcześniejszych ksiąg starotestamentowych budując własne przesłanie teologiczne. W ten sposób powstaje aluzja intertekstualna, której fundamentem jest całkowita zgodność treściowa wersetów 1 Mch z przywoływanymi zwrotami. Zasadnicze znaczenie posiada literacki kontekst decydujący o doborze aluzji. On bowiem wpływa na teologiczną nośność samych wersetów i to, co proponują one ze swej treści dla skonstruowania nowego orędzia. Aluzje odsłaniają rzeczywisty sens opisywanych wydarzeń w kontekście teologicznym. Odkrycie właściwej intencji hagiografa pozwala czytelnikowi poprawnie ocenić postępowanie poszczególnych bohaterów, w tym przypadku Szymona Machabeusza, arcykapłana Żydów z okresu powstania machabejskiego.
    Each biblical book reveals its theological message in a very diverse literary way. The analyzed verse of 1 Macc 14:5, similarly to the other verses of the book, was written in the form of a cento, a well-known literary genre used in antiquity. This cento combines expressions in the verses of the earlier Old Testament books and builds its own theological message. Thus an intertextual allusion is built upon the complete textual conformity of the verses from 1 Macc and the cited expressions. The literary context is crucial for the choice of the allusion. This context influences the carrying theological capacity of the verses and what they bring in the construction of a new message. The allusions reveal the actual meaning of the described events in a theological context. The revelation of the hagiographer’s intention enables the reader to accurately evaluate the conduct of particular characters, in this case Simon Maccabaeus, the high priest of Jews in the times of the Maccabean revolt.

    Egzegeza Mt 16, 13-20 dokonana w świetle uwarunkowań historycznych i doktrynalnych zaistniałych po roku 70 na terenie Judei, w jakich znalazł się ewangelista Mateusz wraz z reprezentowanym przez siebie judeochrześcijańskim Kościołem, wskazuje na obecne w tekście wyraźne akcenty i związane z nimi cele uniwersalistyczne. To przede wszystkim nimi kierował się on definiując zbawcze przesłanie Jezusa zmartwychwstałego o charakterze chrystologicznym i eklezjologicznym w ostatecznej już wersji redagowanej przez siebie Ewangelii królestwa w momencie przełomowym dla dalszych losów Kościoła palestyńskiego. Tak redaguje scenę jaka rozegrała się pod Cezareą Filipową, aby prowadzony przez niego Kościół do świata hellenistycznego zyskał całkowitą pewność doktrynalną, że tę samą władzę związywania i rozwiązywania w niebie i na ziemi jaką otrzymał od samego Jezusa Szymon Barjona by sprawować ją w ziemi Izraela, posiada również Szymon Piotr aby sprawować ją z identyczną skutecznością zbawczą na ziemiach pogan. Bez tej doktrynalnej pewności niemożliwa byłaby zapewne jego dalsza judeochrześcijańska egzystencja w świecie etnochrześcijan i pogan.
    Exegesis of Matthew 16:13-20, made in the light of historical and doctrinal terms occurred after 70 years in Judea, in which the evangelist Matthew was presented with its Judeo-Christian Church, indicates clearly existing in the text emphasis and related them to universalist objectives . They primarily guided him to define the saving message of Jesus the Risen of being Christological and Ecclesiological, in the final version edited by himself, in the Gospel of the Kingdom at the turning point for the fate of the Palestinian Church. The scene from Caesarea Philippi is edited in a manner which allows Peter to run his church in the Hellenistic world in order to gain complete doctrinal confidence that the same power of binding and resolving in heaven and on earth which he received from Jesus Simon Barjon to exercise it in the land of Israel, is also possessed by Simon Peter to celebrate it with the same saving efficiency in the lands of the heathen. Without this doctrinal certainty, it would probably be impossible to guarantee its further Judeo-Christian existence in the world of ethnochristians and gentiles.
    Die Exegese von Mt 16, 30-20, durchgeführt im Licht der historischen und doktrinären Bedingungen im Gebiet von Judäa nach dem Jahr 70, in denen der Evangelist Matthäus und die von ihm repräsentierte Kirche sich befand, weist deutliche universalistische Akzente und mit ihnen verbundene Ziele auf. Sie wurden von ihm stark berücksichtigt, als er die Erlösungsbotschaft des auferstandenen Jesus formulierte. Die endgültige Version der Botschaft vom Reich hatte in diesem Moment des Umbruchs für die Weiterentwicklung der palästinischen Kirche einen christologischen und ekklesiologischen Charakter. Die Szene, die sich bei Cäsarea Philippi abspielte, wird auch so verfasst, damit die sich für die hellenistische Welt öffnende Kirche zweifelsfreie doktrinale Sicherheit erhalte, dass dieselbe Bindungs- und Lösungsgewalt im Himmel und auf der Erde, welche Simon Barjona von Jesus für das Gebiet Israels erhalten hat, jetzt auch Simon Petrus für die genauso heilseffiziente Mission bei allen Heidenvölkern gegeben wird. Ohne diese doktrinale Sicherheit wäre eine weitere judenchristliche Existenz in der Welt der Christen und Heiden voraussichtlich unmöglich gewesen.
