    Isacco di Ninive e uno degli autori meno conosciuti in Occidente. Ma il suo insegnamento e molto importante per la Chiesa d’Oriente. Dopo le traduzioni in lingua russa dei suoi scritti, e stato riconosciuto dagli ortodossi come uno degli autori principali della vita monastica. La sua dottrina spirituale e fondata sul concetto della Misericordia Divina. L’articolo descrive punti principali del concetto della Miseri-cordia Divina sul esempio di uno dei discorsi di Isacco. Non e soltanto una delle dimensioni del Famore divino, ma motore di tutta la oikonomia (sir:) cioe attraverso la Misericordia si puó capire la storia ed entrare in comunione eon Dio. Ma la Misericordia cosi accentuata faceva e fa paura, perche puó provocare difficolta, anzitutto nell’attivita pastorale. Per ąuesto gli scritti di Isacco sono - secondo i monaci - non per i giovani, ma soltanto per i coloro che hanno un certo livello nella vita monastica.

    Refleksja niniejsza wskazuje na zbawcze znaczenie miłosierdzia w życiu człowieka i na związek miłosierdzia ze sprawiedliwością społeczną. Papież w nowy sposób przedstawił teologiczny i antropologiczny wymiar prawdy o miłosierdziu Bożym oraz jej egzystencjalne i społeczne konsekwencje. Bóg objawiony przez Chrystusa jest miłosiernym Ojcem, skorym do przebaczenia grzechów i dzielenia cierpienia z człowiekiem. Miłosierdzie Boże wyzwala miłosierdzie ludzkie, będąc wewnętrzną siłą do praktykowania miłości na co dzień, które winno wyrażać się moralną dojrzałością i postawą apostolstwa. Miłosierdzie zabezpiecza godność ludzką i podstawową równość wszystkich podmiotów życia społecznego. Koryguje sprawiedliwość, służąc rozwojowi społecznemu.
    The article, “Prophetical nature of the encyclical ʻDives in Misericordia’ by Saint John Paul II”, shows two aspects of mercy: its salvific significance in the human life and its contribution to promote justice in the world. Thanks to the new approach, the Pope presented the theological truth of mercy with its anthropological, existential and social consequences. God, revealed by Christ, is the merciful Father, willing to forgive people and suffer with them, to give them hope and support. This truth involves Christians practicing mercy daily and it has its significance in the moral life, in the life of faith and for the evangelization of today’s world. Mercy in social life puts attention to the central place of human dignity and equality of all subjects and in this way corrects and develops justice.

    Teologii Bożego miłosierdzia nie wolno rezygnować z perspektywy trynitarnej, nawet jeśli wiąże się to z trudnościami. Okazuje się bowiem, że refleksja wiary, która w kwestii miłosierdzia Bożego nie traktuje objawionej prawdy o Trójcy Świętej jako podstawowej, generuje jeszcze większe problemy. Miłosierdzie Ojca, zrealizowane w Synu, nie tylko wyjaśnia się, ale wprost dotyka człowieka w Duchu Świętym, którego nie wolno ograniczać tylko do kontynuacji dzieła Jezusa. Duch Boży – według najbardziej ugruntowanej w teologii chrześcijańskiej interpretacji – najlepiej tłumaczy objawioną tajemnicę wewnętrznego życia Bożego, które określamy jako Miłość. Najlepiej także – na tej podstawie – tłumaczy istotę Bożego miłosierdzia, pokonując wszelkie trudności, związane zwłaszcza z zawężaniem tej prawdy i jej jednostronnym rozumieniem.
    The perspective of Trinitarian theology of God’s mercy do not allow to limit the Holy Spirit only to continue the work of Jesus in the Church and to forgive sins. It protects indeed the same theology of God’s mercy before narrowing and one-sidedness. In the economy of salvation, God’s Spirit is shown as cooperating in all the works of God and inseparable from the Father and the Son. This also applies to God’s mercy, which, by the revelation of the mystery of the inner life of God, in the Holy Spirit is better understood and accessible. The basis for this is the essence of God defined in the New Testament as Love, which, according to Christian theology, is concretized by the Holy Spirit. Penetrating God and man in Jesus Christ, He is the Gift restoring the original innocence and introducing man into a relationship of love and unity proper to the Father and the Son.

    Before turning to the wonderful Saviour’s deeds, that he strives to praise in Paschale Carmen, Sedulius introduces his reader into the old testamental history of salvation. In the Book 1, which fulfils the functions of a preface to the poem, he recounts 18 miracles that took place before Christ was born, since the ages of the Patriarchs to the period of the Babylonian captivity. These relations appear to be separate, self-contained stories. The longest is devoted to the miraculous fate of the prophet Elijah (lines 170-187); in the shortest the poet tells about the Balaam’s donkey, an animal without speech, who spoke to its master with a human voice (lines 160-162). Miracles fascinate Sedulius as extraordinary events, which deny the laws of nature and contradict common sense. At that they are sometimes connected with a marvelous metamorphosis. God performs miracles in order to show to the mankind His might, providence and kindness; to educate human beings and to prepare them for the coming of Christ; to foretell cosmic redemption at the end of times. Telling about the old testamental miracles Sedulius tends to refer both to the unbelievers and to the believers the revealed truth. He also aims to awake in the readers’ hearts wonderment, gratitude, love and trust towards the Holy Trinity.

    Miłość i miłosierdzie są dwoma wymiarami jednej łaski: miłość Boża stwarza, a miłosierdzie Boże – oczyszcza i doskonali naturę człowieka. Miłosierdzie jest więc warunkiem doprowadzenia człowieka do uczestniczenia w naturze Bożej. Mówiąc krótko: stwarza człowieka miłość, a zbawia miłosierdzie.
    God’s Mercy never threatens man’s dignity. It elevates human dignity to the Divine level of “second creation.” This is a kind of “divinization” of man, in which human love is transformed by the Divine mercy into closeness to God. Divine Mercy compensates all human imperfections – not only sins, but all kinds of weakness and limitations of the person’s existence. This is how love and mercy are in the heart of the relationship between God and man. Love and mercy are two aspects of one grace: The grace of Divine Love gives life, while the grace of Divine Mercy purifies and perfects human nature. Therefore, Divine Mercy is a precondition on human participation in the nature of God. To put it briefly, man is created through love and saved through mercy.

    Dzienniczek św. Faustyny jest interesującym źródłem dla tych, którzy próbują ukazać Ducha Świętego w perspektywie miłosierdzia. Czy jednak można w Dzienniczku znaleźć wystarczające uzasadnienie teologiczne, aby Ducha nazwać miłosiernym, podobnie jak Ojca i Syna?
    The Diary of St. Faustina Kowalska, though well known for its description of Jesus as the merciful Savior, lacks a comparable description of the role of the Holy Spirit in relation to Divine Mercy. One must understand the theological context of St. Faustina, of the Holy Spirit and Divine Mercy to see more clearly their connection. Whereas the merciful Jesus is the author of sanctification, the giver of Divine Mercy, the Holy Spirit is the very gift of mercy, gushing forth from His Sacred Heart in the rays of Blood and Water, which both forgives sins and lifts us from our misery to participate in the divine life of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the very content of Divine Mercy, for as goodness is ascribed to Him in a pre-eminent way, so too is mercy, removing our defects by filling us with His goodness and perfections.

    Boga jako miłosiernego Ojca objawia już Stary Testament. Na podstawie tej tradycji objawienie to można uznać również za przygotowujące do wcielenia Bożego Słowa, wypełniającego Boże obietnice i realizującego w pełni miłosierdzie Ojca. Zjednoczony z ludzką naturą Boży Syn najpełniej także ukazuje, kim jest Bóg i kim dla Boga jest człowiek. Objawia również, czym jest miłość Boga do człowieka, nie tylko niecofająca się przed grzechem, ale na podstawie tego zjednoczenia – w ten sam sposób jak Syna – obejmująca każdego człowieka. Tak rozumiane miłosierdzie Boże nie ogranicza się tylko do przebaczenia grzechów,ale jest zaproszeniem człowieka przez Boga do możliwej dopiero w Jezusie Chrystusie cudownej wymiany miłości, w której uczestniczy obdarowujący miłosierdziem i nim obdarowany.
    God is shown as merciful already in the Old Testament. However, it is in the fulfillment of God’s promises in the incarnation of the Word that the realization of Divine mercy achieves its fullness. That is why the Word incarnate is also a revelation of the nature of Divine mercy. Its quintessence is made visible in Jesus Christ, who brings God closer to man and makes man capable of self understanding. In the Son the Father reveals Himself as inconceivable Love, whose consequence is creation and redemption. The Father not only does not withdraw His love in response to human sin, but in the Son becomes united with each man, thus showing the fundamental nature of His mercy. It is realized most fully in the work of Jesus Christ, in whom God loves every man with the same love as His own Son. In the Son, who united himself with the human nature, the Father also enables man to respond to Divine love. This means inviting and introducing man to the relation of mercy. Thus, mercy ceases to be a unilateral process and becomes the best way for man to unite with God through the imitation of Jesus.

    In the Book of Hosea a noun "'ab" does not apply to the prophet or Yahweh, but an idea of their fatherhood occurs in the prophecy. The prophet was called to be a husband of the woman of whoredom and a father of the children of whoredom. Hosea accepted this calling and consequently remained in love with them. In this way he became an image of God’s love for His people. In the marital and parental story of Hosea, Yahweh reveals His torn heart.It shows that He not only loves Israel, but also how does it. In the face of the continuous infidelity of the Chosen People, God’s love must be stronger than human sin.It was shown in the image of paternal and motherly love, it signifies complete love which was expressed in a human way in the Book of Hosea. Yahweh always forgives, loves and gives new life. In spite of the fact that Israel is really “the son of whoredom” who rejects love and knowledge of God as his Father and Saviour, he still remains in the bonds of God’s incomprehensible love and is called “the son of God”.
