Opis:
Failures caused by improper collaboration between piston ring and cylinder liner still happen on engines ofhigh output, marine ones in particular. Among causes of this phenomenon one can mention higher mechanical and thermal loads of crank mechanism as well as difficulties in supply and distribution of lubricating oil over the entire surface of cylinder liner. It would be extremely difficult and because of regulations in most cases impossible to perform tests on correct collaboration between rings and liner of real running engine and on the other hand such tests on a test stand would be quite expensive. Use of mathematical models and tests on simulation model stands offers a way to reduce these costs. Basic dependences connecting piston ring geometry with oil film parameters and introductory results of computations performed with the use of analytical model of test stand will be presented in this paper. The tests are to be carried out for ring geometry corresponding to that of marine engine rings. Due to that, using presented earlier formulas and computer program constructed by the authors the phenomena accompanying operation of different versions of rings were analyzed from the point of oil film thickness and generated friction losses. These ring versions which revealed the most advantageous properties will be made and tested on a test stand.

Opis:
The question of testing of vehicles and their subassemblies, especially in the range of electrical and electronic equipment, is very extensive. The scope of the relevant tests becomes wider and the requirements, especially in the range of safety, reliability and comfort, become higher. Of particular significance, are in recent years, tests concerning electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of whole vehicles and their subassemblies. A survey of basic standardized EMC test methods is presented in the paper. Moreover, an alternative test method of vehicle immunity worked out by authors is proposed. The method has been verified by using the open-area partially shielded test site (OAPSTS) model and compared with standardized methods contained in ECE UN Regulation No. 10 and EU Directive 2004/104/EC. Tests of vehicle immunity to electromagnetic field have been performed using the model of OAPSTS and the vehicles: Citroen-Berlingo, Skoda-Octavia and Daewoo-Lanos. Estimation of basic statistical parameters has also been worked out. The obtained results show that the proposed method is reliable and, on the other hand, it is more accessible and less expensive than the standardized methods in which employing of very expensive absorber-lined shielded test chambers is necessary. The present paper extends the results obtained in [6, 7].

Opis:
Article presents verification of LiFePO4 battery simulation model. Verification of battery model was made to assure real parameters of battery cells used for simulation. Simulation model of battery and test stand, similar to the stand used for test on a real battery, was designed in AMESim software. Data of the battery and single cell of battery characteristics were verified to assure true parameters for further tests of power transmission system of the vehicle. For verification theoretical model of the battery, real tests of battery discharging were performed in laboratory. Test stand used for battery discharging was build. Test stand was equipped in water resistor enable to set up various loads of battery. Electrical parameters of battery and battery cell were collected by voltage probes and current clamps and stored in database. Test was performed in similar condition, each time starting with fully loaded battery. Tests ends when battery management system shut down battery main switch. Tests conditions, virtual and real, were performed during similar battery load. Comparing data from unloading tests in laboratory enable to verify data of battery and battery cells designed in AMESim software. Such verification provide reliable model of the used battery. Model of the battery can be used in further simulation test of vehicle, where battery is installed.

Opis:
The aeroelastic phenomena analysis methods used in the Institute of Aviation for aircraft, excluding helicopters, are presented in the article. In industrial practice, a typical approach to those analyses is a linear approach and flutter computation in the frequency domain based on normal modes, including rigid body modes and control system modes. They are determined by means of the finite element method (FEM) model of structure or a result of ground vibration test (GVT). In the GVT case, relatively great vibration amplitudes are applied for a good examination of a not truly linear structure. Instead or apart from the measure of generalized masses, a very theoretical model is used for mode shapes cross orthogonality inspection and improvement. The computed or measured normal mode sets are the basis for flutter analysis by means of several tools and methods, like MSC.Nastran and ZONA commercial software as well as our own low-cost software named JG2 for the flutter analysis of low speed aeroplanes and for a preliminary analyses of other aircraft. The differences between the methods lie in determining normal mode set, unsteady aerodynamic model, flutter equation formulation, time of analysis, costs, etc. Examples with results comparison obtained by means of distinguished methods are presented. Some works in the field of aeroelastic analysis with nonlinear unsteady aerodynamic in the time domain using Tau-code and ANSYS Fluent software were also performed. Aeroelastic properties of deformed structures, like a sailplane with deflected wings, can be also analysed. The simplest way of this analysis is the semi-linear approach in which the deflections modify the aircraft geometry for normal modes determination.

Opis:
This paper presents procedure methodology allowing to evaluate the impact of vertical acceleration (mine detonation under the vehicle) for damages of backbone of the crew member This problem is presented globally with stress on model being the estimator of the backbone damages. Then this study includes standard requirements in this field and discusses the necessary instrumentation and then method for development of model input data is indicated. the vertical impact model is presented on example. The mechanisms allowing to evaluate the level of potential injuries are presented in the final part in this paper. The range of problems concerning metrology of physical values associating explosion and evaluation of its impact on the human body is very wide. Problems discussed in this paper do not exhaust this field. The research are under way on several topics for their more full recognition. Development of this field will be correctly used, having in mind the aspect and usefulness of such research. The main criterion for evaluation of explosion impact on people protected by armour of the vehicle is the measurement of physical and mechanical values occurring during explosion. The high accelerations and pressures constitute serious danger for health and life of people. Tests are necessary to determine effectiveness of the crew's protection both in vehicles and in other objects.

This analysis considers the problem related to the transport safety improvement by applying specialized energy absorbing elements. The advanced finite element method was used to solve this problem. The obtained results permit to estimate the practical usability of the proposed solution. In previous works of the examination team [1-5] a series of numerical analysis of the car -- road barrier dynamical system, directed to the elaboration of the numerical model methodology of an impact problem with the use of chosen CAE programs, was submitted. In this article experimental results of a Suzuki Swift car impact into a standard road barrier arę presented. Tests were carried out at the Automotive Industry Institute (PIMOT) in Warsaw, with the use of a test sample of the road barrier. Presented results of experimental tests serve to validation of a numerical model of the aforementioned system. For the safety sake the car's speed during the experimental examinations was limited to 50 km/h. Moreover, the vehicle hit perpendicularly a properly modified road barrier's sector. Experimental initial boundary and constructional conditions were modelled in numerical examinations. in which a commonlv available Suzuki Swift car model, http://www.ncac.gwu.edu, was used. Numerical analysis was carried out with the use of LS-DYNA system.

Opis:
Dynamic combustion engine test stand allows a very accurate analysis of the engine work. The prototype of such a system was developed and built in a cooperation of Poznan University of Technology with the ODIUT Automex company. The system consists of an asynchronous motor controlled by a regenerative variable-frequency drive with an ability to return braking energy back to the power system. Together they permit to set very precise work points of the combustion engine in every time moment, unlike test stands with eddy current dynamometer, which are only able to brake the engine. Measuring system is used to gather data from all sensors, especially torque sensor, which records the torque on a drive shaft. Sensors are connected to electronic boards, which provide signal processing, and data acquisition. Fuel mass flow meter with temperature and pressure control allows regulating the parameters of fuel supplied to the engine. A set of applications is used for test stand management and data presentation and visualization. Real conditions and vehicle dynamics are emulated using advanced models to allow a comprehensive research of the combustion engine on the test stand. The paper covers the description of developed system, its components, software and models adapted in emulation. Moreover, it provides schematics of the system as well as a block diagram of the vehicle dynamic model.
