Opis:
The bar or net screens are ones of the methods to increase protection level of military vehicle crews against antitank grenades fired from RPG-7. Their task is to prevent generation of the shaped charge jet. The probability of vehicle's protection level when applying such types of screens depends on their structure - percentage share of the open space, i.e. space for which the flying grenade will not touch the structure element with its fuse, but it will be destructed. The two mechanisms are here mainly used: short circuit in the fuse circuit, deformation of conical section of the shaped charge warhead. This article presents analysis of structure of the bar and net screens due to share of the open space, for various impact angle of grenade in elevation and azimuth. The following were changed: thickness and width of bars and distance between them, thickness of wire and shape of individual net mesh. The solution of bar screen with the lowest weight and grenade destruction ability was selected. This solution was compared with the net screen offered currently on the market For the selected solutions, for angles increasing in elevation, up to 300 value, the bar screen has the larger open space than net screen. For angles in azimuth, the bar screen has larger open space for the entire range of angles. The bar screen is heavier by 50-60% when compared to the selected net screens, but their operation costs are lower. They are repaired in field conditions

Opis:
The objective of this thesis was to show present the impact of the turbine blade cooling on blade material temperatures well as familiarize with processes and methods of numerical simulation by designing airfoil internal cooling system. The model of airfoil was created based on drawing print nr 17.41.0114 of engine Tumański R-11F2S-300. Geometry of all models described above is created using SIMENS NX4 program based on drawings obtained from available literature, and data acquired from the Internet. The discretization into a structural finite volume grid took place in commercial pre-processor GAMBIT registered trademark (GAMBIT and FLUENT – commercial CFD codes from Ansys Inc.). Conjugated heat transfer analysis was conducted in program FLUENTregistered trademark for four different cases, where the blade material properties were changed. The goal of this thesis was to obtain temperature fields and distribution in the turbine blade airfoil and to evaluate if applied cooling would be able to cool down this thermally loaded part. Calculated results show that proposed blade heat protection method is insufficient during steady state condition, mainly on the blade leading and trailing edge. In these two locations, the blade is overheated, and the high temperature level of applied material is unacceptable for used in jet engine turbine industry.

Opis:
The article is an introduction to the analysis of the functioning of the safety systems with the use of layered models. The idea behind these models is the classification of elements of safety systems into independent groups referred to as the layers of protection. It seems that the functioning of the safety systems is usually based on the concept of multi-layer securities. Modern technological installations of high-risk industrial facilities are fitted with multi layer security systems. The definition of the safety systems and a review of the definitions of hazard risk reduction measures as part of those systems are presented. A layer of the model of a safety system comprises the measure of risk reduction in terms of the stage of classification. It has been assumed that the safety system model will depend on the adopted classification of these measures. The classification of risk reduction measures used in safety systems of technical objects depending on the form of these measures is presented. Assuming that the form of the safety system model depends on the adopted classification of the risk reduction measures we can perform an identification of the layers of this model. The concept of identification of protection layers in multi-layers safety systems based on classifications is developed. The notation used in the classification of types of risk reduction measures is also presented. Schematic of safety system identification of transport systems objects according to the adopted classification of types of risk reduction measures is developed. According to these schematics, we can describe the safety system models of object other than those related to transport. An example of such an adaptation has been developed for a multi-layer safety system model of objects in the processing industry.

Opis:
Numerous cases of self-activation of the SSP-FK aircraft fire suppression system (including commissioning of valves and extinguishing tanks) testify about the fact that it is not yet fully understood in the technical aspect, and because of the performed role on the aircraft is the basic element to ensure flight safety. Solving problems with false fire signalling of the SSP-FK system is an important issue for the safe operation of aircraft and military helicopters, because it is preventive (to warn the crew of the possibility of fire) and rescue system (aiming at extinguish the fire) in each phase of a flight. In addition, the SSP-FK system is used on many types of military aircraft (including helicopters from W-3/3W/3WA/3PL and Mi/8/14/17/24 family as well as An-28 and Tu-154M aircraft. The paper presents selected results of work in the Air Force Institute of Technology in the study of SSP-FK fire suppression system (as one of the main protection systems on-board) used on many types of military aircraft operated in the Polish Armed Forces. In determining the conditions of the false signalling of fire, simulation models of action blocks implementing of the SSP-FK fire suppression system were developed. The research on simulation models was performed in Matlab-Simulink and Circuit-Maker computing packages. The results of these works were used to diagnose selected modules and blocks of the SSP-FK system during the study of actual cases of their false activation.
