Opis:
In a modern urban organization, mobility is an important issue for society. Traffic congestion of urban roads undermines mobility is a real problem in major cities This article shows the development and implementation of a centralized traffic control system in the city of Cali Valle (Colombia) applied to control traffic lights located to the east of the city (Simon Bolivar and Ciudad de Cali highways), allowing the central operators directly influence the traffic flow, know and display the status of the lights and generate statistics about the events of the online equipment. Particular real benefits of proposed new system of traffic lights are reflected in green times at each intersection allocated in accordance with the present traffic volumes on the road network at any time of day and in every sector of the city in particular, which of course increases the efficiency of each light installed at each intersection. As demonstrated in this article case study, the congestion scheme has been improved, and the project has opened up vast opportunities for innovative network management strategies for the optimization of network performance. Many of these strategies are developed to give a coordinated high-level control across different traffic control platforms based on real time traffic condition and performance on site.

The paper presents the concept of a new approach for remote control and monitoring of parameters of mobile or stationary machines in real time on the example of the hydrostatic transmission drive test stand. The proposed system control and monitoring is the mobile system which is closely related with the three applications written in a different programming languages, such as: java (Android) – mobile application runs on the tablet, C language – server application joins xPC Target with tablet, PHP – admin panel to manage mobile control platform. Controlling of the hydrostatic drive stand is implemented using an application installed on the tablet. This application is connected with computer’s real-time (xPC Target) module, generated in Matlab. The computer with xPC Target is equipped with a measuring-control card, to which the control signals are transmitted. This hardware-software component plays the connecting role between machine and operator of the mobile platform installed on the tablet. The application allows observe important parameters such as pressure, volumetric flow rate, temperature, velocity, torque in real-time, as well as, it enable, by use of special graphic slider on the tablet’s screen, to set control parameters such as: speed of electric motor, the opening and switching positions of the directional valve, as well as, setting the load by pressure relief valve. Based on this system research related to the verification of system operation were performed for different setting of the hydrostatic transmission drive speed controller, and selected results are presented in the paper.

Opis:
In the present time, landing energy dissipation process in aviation shock absorber design is optimized for the most demanding, but still safe, landing scenario (reserve energy landing conditions). Most of the current solutions are based on a fixed hole (orifice) or a set of holes regulating hydraulic fluid flow in the shock absorber. This approach although safe provides no optimization of the forces acting on the fuselage in different (less energetic than limit energy) conditions. Due to the progress in hydraulic flow control, it is possible to design and control a proper system for extended optimization of the landing process energy dissipation. The complete system contains two parts, one of which is a direct flow executive electro-mechanical system and second of which is an electronic control system. The electronic control system directly manages executive system via a set of inputs, thus creating proper output signals for the optimal flow control. In this article, the author presents the idea of the computer control part of the adaptive hydraulic flow control system. The author describes a set of possible control input and output signals both external and internal, from the landing gear reference system, characterizing their role in the landing process. The author also defines possible control algorithms selected to fit the assumptions of the adaptive landing gear system. Finally, the author presents a proposal for the laboratory grade control system for future testing of the assumptions described in this article.

Continuous control systems are built with standard transducer measured signal, the controller and actuator. The actuator is responsible for the direct setting of the size of the control object. The actuator is connected to the control valve and the actuator position change signal into the flow rate of the working medium. Since the operating element is required the linear characteristics in the standard signal range to work. The other hand, the control valve provides flow characteristics linear or equal percentage. This flow control principle is used in various control systems. The actuator of the control valve is always equipped with a positioner, which corrects errors in the position of the valve relative to the input signal. The presented design of the control valve is an analogue system. Using the technique of converting multiple digital signal causes, the system is susceptible to damage. Remove the intermediate elements can improve the quality control and safety system. Such benefits give a design of the operating element based on direct digital processing unit and control program. The directions and speed of development of plane avionics systems are determined by three factors: economical consideration, required safety levels, and optimized working conditions for the pilot. This article presents the concept of a system in which the automatic control and stabilization process is effected because of coordinated deflections of trimming surfaces: the rudder, the elevator, and the ailerons. In particular, this article presents the structure of the system in the longitudinal movement steering channel by way of deflection of the trimmer of the elevator. Furthermore, it discusses the results of numerical model simulations, which are compared to the results obtained during in-flight tests. Additionally, this article specifies general technical requirements for the servomechanisms intended for the system class discussed herein. Selection of sufficiently large amplification makes control the plane with relatively small deflections of the trimmer. In particular, relationship between the deflection of the elevator and the deflection of trimmer, view of a tail plane and dimensions of the elevator trimmer, the structure and results of the pitch angle control system and simulation are presented in the article.

It is known, that small disturbances generated by the micro actuators can alter large-scale vortex structures, and consequently, generate appreciable aerodynamic moments along all three axes for flight control. In the current study, we explored the possibility of independently controlling these moments. We perform analytical simulations showing optimal position of LEX generators, and water tunnel measurements showing effectiveness of MEX generators as MAV control devices. We applied array of actuators located on either the forward or the rear half section of the leading edge. Both one- and two-sided control configurations have also been investigated. Experimental results showed that asymmetric vortex pairs were formed, which leads to the generation of significant torques in all three axes. The article presents typical vortical flow over a delta wing, water tunnel at Wroclaw University of Technology, experimental setup and procedures, static test results on water tunnel testing including normal forces, pitching and yawing moments, maximum values of rolling, pitching, and yawing moment coefficients, effectiveness of pitching and yawing control.

The paper has been intended to describe the essence of the change control in the aircraft testing, the change control being a component of the process of configuration management process. The concept of a systemic approach to the change control under the configuration management (CM) model has been presented. The essence of establishing the configuration of reference being the base for realization of tests has been indicated and necessity of control was justified. Decomposition of tests to objects of configuration has been created. The exemplary externals that have an effect on identified object of configuration have been described. It was assumed that the differences between real and supposed parameters of externals are the reason of changes to established configuration of testing. The algorithm of proceeding referred to implementation changes (initiating, description, estimation of the influence, taking a decision about implementation, messaging information to interested parties) has been proposed. The instruments for control of tests configuration has been presented. It was proved that efficient control of configuration could be an instrument for efficient realization of tests while changes appear. What has been proposed is a process of qualitative assessment of the change control as one of the most essential issues of the configuration management modelling in the aircraft testing.

Opis:
Automation of processes related to design and manufacturing is one of the essential goals of most manufacturing companies. The use of modern computer-aided design systems CAD allows partial automation of such processes. The parametric model can be built in some CAD systems. In the parametric model, selected dimensions are treated as control parameters. By changing the values of these parameters, we can control the remaining geometrical dimensions of the model. These dimensions can be associated with linear control parameters using mathematical relationships. Parameterization allows you to associate a geometric model with a mathematical model and allows you to automatically make changes to all elements associated with the currently modified parameter. When working on a non-parameterized model, the changes in the modelled object must be applied separately for each part and subassembly of which it is composed. In a parametric model, changing one parameter entails changes in other parameters dependent on it. Parameterization of the model allows its use for further modification of the designed structure related to customer requirements, even for that very complex, as well as accelerating the design process itself. The article presents a three-dimensional geometric model of a boat davit created with the use of the Siemens NX 9.0 software. In the work, the geometry of the crane model was parameterized for the assumed values of its height and reach. As a result of parametric modelling, the values of the individual geometric dimensions of the device’s structure elements and their mass were obtained. It was justified that thanks to the use of parameterized models, the time of design and construction processes can be significantly reduced, which makes the process more efficient.

The paper presents an outline of a new strategy to improve operational system of military motor vehicles. Technical diagnostics method is a tool for controlling the motor vehicles maintenance in the state of their functional and professional operability. Three criteria have been assumed to control and maintain vehicles in the state of their technical operability, effectiveness and safety. It was found that the safety of military vehicles is controllable by board-external diagnostic systems as well as diagnostic systems as part of their operating systems. An algorithm is presented for diagnosing, maintaining, and assessing vehicles security in combat. It was found necessary to develop an improved technology for vehicles maintenance, including technological processes, organization of the processes implementation progress and their infrastructure. The organizational chart has been presented of the motor vehicles technological diagnostics and maintenance process. The paper also includes the concept for assessment of the vehicles operational effectiveness based on criteria of the static and dynamic coefficient of technical readiness and costs.

The main goal of the bomb release is to hit the target with a maximum accuracy. Therefore, special active control systems are utilized to improve this accuracy. Some of the most popular are semi-active laser systems of guidance. Selected target is pointed with high-intensity laser by an airborne or ground laser designator. The laser-guided bomb (LGB) tracks this target using on-board laser seeker and adjusts its trajectory. The main task of the control system is to steer the bomb in the way allowing fixing the reflected laser beam in the centre of photo sensor array. This keeps the bomb axis straight toward the target. The aim of this study is to identify factors influencing on the accuracy of the LGB. It was performed for the prototype of LGB, which was designed in the Air Force Institute of Technology. This is the modernized version of the classical LB-10M bomb. Originally, this bomb has only four rear stabilizers and it has been equipped with four additional fins (Fig. 1). These fins allow controlling the bomb's path in active way. Earlier studies have shown that this is the useful method of bomb control both in longitudinal and lateral motions. Analysis proved that range of the bomb can be effectively changed. This paper presents method of flight simulations for released LGB. Calculations were performed using sixdegrees- of-freedom mathematical model of the LB-10M bomb motion. Aerodynamics was calculated using commercial software. Control laws were determined based on signals detected by two pairs of laser sensors. Exemplary results of simulations are submitted and conclusions focused on the main factors influencing on bombing accuracy are shown.

Quadrocopters are nonlinear and inherently unstable systems. To be able to account for the nonlinearities during more aggressive manoeuvres nonlinear control methods need to be utilized to obtain the desired position while at the same time guaranteeing stability. In the article, the quadrocopter dynamics is modelled using the Newton-Euler method. The propeller aerodynamics is modelled using a combination of momentum theory and blade element theory. There are two different control objectives; the 1st objective requires the quadrocopter to reach a desired attitude set point using, while the 2nd objective requires the quadrocopter to track an attitude trajectory. In both cases, Lyapunov stability criterion, in conjunction with LaSalle’s invariance principle, is used to guarantee the system becomes asymptotically stable. In the case of reaching the desired attitude set point, a direct Lyapunov control method is implemented with the control constants determined empirically. For the trajectory tracking, limited knowledge is assumed on the system dynamics and the Mamdani fuzzy controller is used with a rule base that satisfy the Lyapunov stability criterion. The fuzzy membership functions developed empirically and a centre of gravity defuzzification method is used. All simulations are done in MATLAB/Simulink. The results of the numerical simulation are presented in the article.

Opis:
Internal combustion engines yet have not exhausted their development possibilities in the range of economy and ecology demands. Development of SI and CI engines, which several years ago proceeded individually in-parallel, now becomes likely in common: one type of engine shares some features with the other one, e.g. direct injection, electronically controlled injectors, electronic control unit etc. However, type of ignition and mixture formation are still different (spark assisted ignition versus auto ignition and homogeneous mixture versus heterogeneous). HCCI engine overcomes this difference. At present HCCI engine uses both type of ignition modes and both types of mixture in different ranges of operational parameters. Direct injection during compression stroke and stratified charge are characteristics for low and mild power resulting in low emission of CO and HC as well as NOx. Combustion is initiated by spark when mixture is very poor. For maximum load and speed, auto-ignition of homogeneous stoichiometric mixture takes place in the whole volume of combustion chamber. Due to the absence of flame and low temperature, nitrogen oxides, of which molecules arise in post flame zone, are low. Also emission of CO and HC are low due to stoichiometry of the mixture. The key problem is controlled auto-ignition as a function of speed and load (fully HCCI engine). Several methods of auto-ignition control (CAI) are discussed in this paper.

Opis:
The problems presented in this article deal with operation and maintenance process control in complex systems of technical object operation and maintenance. The article presents the description of the method concerning the control availability for technical objects (means of transport) on the basis of the mathematical model of the operation and maintenance process with the implementation of the decisive processes by semi-Markov. The presented method means focused on the preparing the decisive for the operation and maintenance process for technical objects (semi-Markov model) and after that specifying the best control strategy (optimal strategy) from among possible decisive variants in accordance with the approved criterion (criteria) of the activity evaluation of the system of technical objects operation and maintenance. In the presented method specifying the optimal strategy for control availability in the technical objects means a choice of a sequence of control decisions made in individual states of modelled operation and maintenance process for which the function being a criterion of evaluation reaches the extreme value. In order to choose the optimal control strategy the implementation of the genetic algorithm was chosen. Depending on one’s needs, the genetic algorithm including the obtained model of operation and maintenance process may be implemented for mathematic formulation and solution of a wide array of problems connected with control of complex systems of technical object operation and maintenance. It pertains mostly to the economic analysis, safety management and controlling availability and reliability of complex systems. The opinions were presented on the example of the operation and maintenance process of the means of transport implemented in the real system of the bus municipal transport.
