Opis:
The phenomenon of high-energy explosion of a substance such as the mixture of flammable gases, explosives, etc. is highly exothermic chemical reaction that causes a blast wave consisting of hot gases at high pressure. Very complex nature of the phenomenon of detonation, affects the need for advanced methods of analysis. In the present work analysis of two steel columns (I-section and tubular section) subjected to the blast wave are presented. The columns have similar values of the moments of inertia and mass per unit length. To describe the complex phenomena occurring in gas medium the Eulerian formulation was used. The steel structures were described using Lagrangian formulation. Interaction between domains was achieved by numerical coupling algorithm with implemented penalty function. From the results from all the analysis cases, the dynamic response of structural elements was obtained. Permanent deformation and the amount of absorbed energy are of special interest in this study. The resultant velocity vectors were also presented to illustrate the characteristic of blast wave propagation.

Opis:
As the horizontal axis wind turbines are getting larger, their dynamic behaviour is becoming more important. Dynamic analysis gives knowledge how to improve efficiency and safety also in small wind turbines. This article describes numerical models of chosen components of upwind, three-bladed wind turbine. Geometry of each component is generated separately and then assembled together by transformation matrices. Material of the blades is composite, the hub is assumed to be made of steel and material of the planet carrier is casted iron. These mentioned components are modelled by shell elements. The numerical model of the hub takes into account aerodynamic and gravity loads of blades, inertia forces due to rotation of the rotor and aerodynamic damping. The aerodynamic loads, calculated according to the modified Blade Element Momentum theory, are attached to aerodynamic centres. Wind conditions were assumed for I-class wind turbine according to Germanischer Lloyd. Stress Reserve Factors were calculated for DLC 6.1 load case according to Germanischer Lloyd, too. As a first step, numerical strength analysis with using AnSYS software was performed with maximum values of principal stresses as an output. Then, based on FEM analysis results, Stress Reserve Factors were calculated. SRF values show that analyzed hub and planet carrier have sufficient strength for extreme loads. Methodology of safety margin evaluation presented in this paper allows assessing if the object fulfils relevant standards demanding.

Opis:
High quality of components used in constructions of Landing Gears forces the manufacturers to choose appropriate technologies in order to manufacture and control dimensions of particular details. It is especially difficult to predict how the elements of huge dimensions will act during heat treat and chemical processing. The changes in size and. shape of the elements of suspension of STRUCTURAL POST aircraft are connected with hardening stresses. This requires accurate determining of allowance of final machining. The analysis of processing parameters and manufacturing of a precise component is possible with the use of high-tech coordinate measuring techniques based on touch and untouched measurements . The highest quality of machines used in manufacturing and measuring as well as innovative technologies used during the process of manufacturing STRUCTURAL POST components result in effects assumed by the designing engineer. The aim of this article is to present issues connected with technological process of manufacturing STRUCTURAL POST components as well as the analysis of particular parameters of manufacturing process which have an impact on the accuracy of dimensions and shape of the final product. These parameters are also responsible for functionality, operational reliability and safety of the Landing Gear.
