Opis:
Authors of the contribution is concerned with feeding the elderly, which is frequently discussed a serious problem. Increasing age is a risk factor for the development of nutritional disorders, and therefore the old connection with the frequent occurrence of these disorders, especially with malnutrition. Nutritional disorders in old age lead to serious health problems, prolonging illness and mortality, not least, degradation the quality of life. By reason to demographic changes in terms of life expectancy increasing and the increasing number of elderly people, this issue is highly topical. In case of illness in old age there is a higher risk of malnutrition. The old and the chronically ill in this respect are vulnerable group. Between nutritional status and disease severity, there is a close relationship. It is true that the mere malnutrition is associated with higher mortality and morbidity. Also, every chronic disease leads to malnutrition and malnutrition every clinically latent disease. The most frequent type of malnutri- tion in the elderly is a protein-energy malnutrition with simple starvation, which leads to weight loss. In practice usually carried combinations more examination methods. The basic methods used in the diagnosis of eating disorders in the elderly include: nutritional history, anthropometric and physical examination, laboratory tests and nutritional standardized questionnaires.

Incidence of female breast cancer in our population remains very high and the incidence increase every year. Breast cancer and following demanding oncological treatment extensively influence life of female patients. It intervene biological, psychical and social life of patient. Objective of our research was to check how women are informed about preventive precautions and how they are following them. Our research sample were randomly selected women of all age groups. Our results showed that it is necessary to increase activity in the area of education, increase personal responsibility in area of breasts self-examination and better inform about the influence of obesity to breast cancer incidence. Considering our previous experience in health care we were surprised that the role of nurse in education process is very low. We think that general nurses have enough opportunities to use daily contacts with patients to inform and lecture them.

Delivery and accompanying pain means a big physical and psychical burden for both mother and newborn. This usually causes the stress reaction. Currently exist a variety of possibilities how to relieve woman and reduce pain. In delivery rooms are often used pharmacological and non-pharmacological ways of pain relief. None of those methods can remove the pain completely. Pain is the inseparable part of every delivery.

Opis:
The authors point to balanced nutrition in children with heart disease, which is not easy at all in terms of age and nutrition, and with respect to the limitations of heart disease. heart disease in childhood is a very comprehensive set of diseases, including congenital malformations, arrhythmias, valvular defects, hypertension. Congenital heart defects include situations where the heart attack is present at birth. In the czech republic approximately 500 children with heart defect are born annually. The aim of the paper is to make recommendations on how to properly choose the right foods for children with heart disease. it is important to exclude industrially produced salt foods, limiting salt and fat intake. These measures can be approached very individually with respect to the child‘s age, surgery, associated dg., medication. The whole family should always be involved so that the child does not suffer, it is not our intention to psychically distract the child. it should also take into account age, sex. a mildly reducing diet if overweight or obesity is always a risk! in the case of a very young child, such as breast-fed infants, it is important for these measures to be followed by a nursing mother. Nutrition is most important not only for children with heart disease, because they may need to take care of themselves in order to prevent their condition from becoming fatal at the end, as well as prevention and healthy lifestyle.

Opis:
The aim of our contribution is to briefly describe the health risks to people in the Czech Republic. It is necessary to realize that health concerns not only the human being but also the environment, it is the result of mutual relations between the organism, the psychic and the personality of the individual and the surrounding environment. Health is most damaging to smoking, poor nutrition, low physi- cal activity, excessive psychological stress, excessive alcohol consumption, drug abuse, risky sexual behavior. Demography is a doctrine of the population, it deals with dynamic and statistical indica- tors - population, migration, etc. The most important method is demographic statistics. Mortality or mortality is the ratio of the number of deaths to the given disease to the total number of inhabitants in the given administrative unit. For example, breakdowns into groups of men, women, children under 15 or occupations, injuries, etc. Prevention is a set of measures to prevent any undesirable phenomenon such as illness, drug addi- ction, crime, accidents, failure in school, social conflicts, violence, environmental disasters, and so on. Primary prevention is specific and non-specific. Specific is targeted against disease or against the risk of disease. Primary non-specific prevention means activities leading to the strengthening and development of health through health education or a health-conscious lifestyle. Secondary prevention attempts to capture the phenomena in a timely manner and prevent their deepening, spreading and the like. It focuses on particularly vulnerable groups, such as youth, minorities or the socially weak. Tertiary prevention seeks to prevent repetition, such as crimes, illness, drug addiction, and so on. It focuses on people who have just been cured, punished, and the like. Lifestyle is a style that includes forms of voluntary behavior in given life situations that are based on individual choices from different options. The health status of the company is assessed mainly on the basis of morbidity and mortality. The sickness, incidence and prevalence of illnesses in the population is the ratio of the number of ill persons to the number of persons at risk in the population and in the time period. It expresses the incidence and prevalence indicators.

Opis:
The article provides basic information on nutritional principles in patients with epilepsy. Epilepsy is the oldest known neurological disease. There are approximately 50 million individuals worldwide with epilepsy, more than 70,000 patients in the Czech Republic. This is a chronic neurological disease characterized by repeated seizures of various clinical images and abnormal brain cerebral neurons. Epilepsy is divided into symptomatic and idiopathic. The main goal of treatment is to significantly improve the patient‘s quality of life. This is best achieved by removing seizures or at least limiting their frequency and intensity where elimination of seizures is not possible. The core of the paper points to regime measures and the importance of the regulation of living is important. Observance of regular sleep and wakefulness, single-phase sleep with regular downtime and getting up. A varied diet is the basis of nutrition. Patient nutrition interferes practically with all the functions of the organism and basically affects health. The patient should eat a variety of foods in a reasonable amount. Patients should also try to reduce salt consumption. You should also watch the salt hidden in the food. Try to reduce the consumption of sugar. It is also important to drink fluids. At least 2 liters a day is recommended. Water plays an important role in maintaining the stability of the internal environment in the body. It is advisable to drink various kinds of drinks, suitable for natural water, fruit teas, unsweetened juices. All types of alcoholic beverages are forbidden for patients with epilepsy. Alcohol reduces the effects of antiepileptic drugs. Opportunities for pharmacists and epizootics are known as ketogenic diets that have been successfully applied in the world for a long time. Depending on the degree of ketosis and the effect on spasticity, the nutrient relation is shifted in favor of proteins and carbohydrates. It is a special diet choice that contains a high fat content with an adequate amount of protein but a very limited amount of carbohydrates. Although overall prognosis is generally favorable for standard epilepsy (most patients experience complete seizures over time), roughly one-third of patients fail to achieve a non-invasive condition even with the right treatment. Adherence to proper nutrition in patients with epilepsy and adherence to a healthy lifestyle is one of the treatment priorities.
