W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących nowo utworzonych polskich miast na przełomie XX i XXI w. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że są to miasta małe, w większości nieprzekraczające 5 tys. mieszkańców. Zbiór nowo utworzonych miast jest zróżnicowany pod względem układów przestrzennych, rozmieszczenia w kraju oraz genezy miejskiego statusu. Analiza zbioru pozwoliła na określenie cech przestrzennych i kulturowych nowo utworzonych miast, charakterystycznych dla ich miejskiej tożsamości.
The article presents the issues shaping the identity of the newly created Polish cities at the end of the twentieth century and beginning of the twenty-first century. The study shows that these small towns, in most cases, do not exceed 5000 residents. A set of newly created cities is diverse in terms of spatial systems, deployment in the country and the genesis of urban status. The analysis allowed us to define a set of internal and external conditions of development of newly created cities and the formation of their identity. - Źródło:
