Opis:
Research background: According to the EU agenda, CSR should be considered an integral element of the current organizational strategy, including SMEs. While the debate continues about the optimal approach for successful CSR adaptation in SME, yet there is a need to shed light on the impact of owner-manager?s demographics on CSR practices. Purpose of the article: The paper aims to examine whether owner-manager?s demographics (age, gender, education) matter for the implementation of CSR or not. Methods: The study is based on a questionnaire filled in by owner-managers of SMEs operating in Czechia (454) and Slovakia (368). Factor analysis and nonparametric methods are used to test the hypotheses. Findings & value added: This study shows that the relationships between CSR and owner-manager?s demographics are not alike between Slovakia and Czechia. Compared to owners, the evidence shows that the Czech managers are more oriented toward the CSR practices, while in Slovakia there is no difference. Such finding can be explained by Hofstede culture difference. In addition, analysis demonstrates that female Slovaks are more oriented to CSR than men, while it is not true in Czechia. Moreover, Czech individuals who graduated in the same field as their business are more oriented to the CSR, whereas in Slovakia this is not. In addition, young and old Slovak entrepreneurs are more oriented to the CSR than those 35-55 years old, manifesting a U-shape type of relationship. The originality of this work is manifested by the fact that it enriches the literature since it is among the first studies to analyze the relationships between owner-manager?s demographics and CSR in the SME segment for Czechia and Slovakia.

Research background: The difference of war and peace can help gain an under-standing of the differences in the management of a company's reputation in terms of its stability as compared to the state of a reputation crisis. The question of practical confirmation, which is left open, is whether there is a positive correlation between the anti-crisis activity of the reputation management system and its stability in a long-term perspective, or whether these two factors are inversely related. Purpose of the article: This research is essentially aimed at studying the impact of innovation activity, media activity, and corporate social responsibility on reputational stability as well as on anti-crisis reputational sustainability. Methods: Indicators of innovation activity, media activity, corporate social responsibility, reputational stability, and anti-crisis reputational sustainability were collected in a sample of the most frequently mentioned in the media leading companies of the Ukrainian economy (N = 315), using an online survey done among 110 industry experts within the framework of the Reputation ACTIVists All-Ukrainian Ranking of Corporate Reputation Management Quality over February-March'2019 period. Structural equation modeling (SEM) in using the maximum likelihood estimation method was applied to examine the associations between above-mentioned indicators, according to the aim of the study. Findings & Value added: The results of our study revealed: 1) the existence of a significant correlation between CSR and reputational stability; 2) innovative and media activity are the most significant variables to provide anti-crisis sustainability; 3) CSR is less important for ensuring anti-crisis sustainability than for maintaining reputational stability; 4) anti-crisis sustainability is significantly more dependent on media activity than reputational stability is. By better understanding the roles of innovation activity, media activity,  and corporate social responsibility, the company's management in Ukraine can leverage the results of the study to improve reputation management performance, differentiating approaches in circumstances of a crisis and stability.

Opis:
Research background: There are many scientific papers dealing with the challenges of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) implementation at the company level. However, there are few studies dealing with gender difference between female and male managers in the perception towards CSR initiative. Purpose of the article: To understand the differences between male and female managers' behaviour in the process of CSR implementation in companies. Methods: A survey of managers at different levels in Lithuanian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) was performed in 2019. The study focused on the female and male respondents' answers to the participation in CSR implementation, their perception about CSR implementation and the most important issues for them in that process. Findings & Value added: The results of the study indicated that, compared to their male counterparts, female respondents highlighted different factors having impact on successful implementation of CSR initiatives. Female managers were more convinced to the benefits of CSR practices than their male counter-parts. The "Communication skills" were defined as the most important for implementing CSR strategy for the females and "Understanding of CSR strategy" for males. For most of the female managers, "Sociality" was the most important competence necessary for a leader, followed by "Global and holistic thinking", however, the male respondents were more doubtful about all the necessary competencies for a sustainability leader. The main theoretical value added of the paper is elicitation of the differences between male and female managers in the perception of CSR initiatives and necessary skills of a leader for implementing these initiatives in SMEs. The practical and managerial im-plications  were also provided for the strengthening of the CSR activities in SMEs.

Research background: Thanks to globalization, a number of new possibilities and available technological solutions have emerged, thus modernizing marketing communication activities and bringing a broad spectrum of business opportunities to the single European market which enterprises may use to their benefits. Changes are much more frequent than ever before. Therefore, it is important to search for innovative solutions which contribute to more effective fulfillment of goals, generate positive changes or increase value for customers and as a matter of fact, enhance innovative performance and business competitiveness. Purpose of the article: The paper deals with the presentation of eco-innovations in the business environment using creative tools of online marketing communication. Eco-innovations are a phenomenon which is present across all business activities and processes including marketing communication. The authors study such marketing activities of businesses which are part of corporate social responsibility, generate business growth and finally help to improve the global environment. The authors also present the partial results of their own quantitative marketing research in order to describe the application of SoLoMo marketing tools in the presentation of eco-innovations in the Slovak business environment. Methods: The authors prepared a standardized questionnaire on a sample of 300 Slovak businesses. To test the dependence or independence of the variables, a Chi-squared test and Fisher´s exact test were used. Findings & Value added: Despite the generally growing trend of the use of mod-ern online marketing tools, the research showed that Slovak businesses do not inform sufficiently about their eco-innovation activities, do not address all prospective target groups and do not make enough effort to enhance environmental awareness of the wider public. The results of the research will serve as basic information for the following specific studies, the main aim of which is to spread awareness among consumers and to eventually provide them with practical recommendations. In addition, the given theoretical part of the paper represents a valuable summary of information about the modern SoLoMo marketing concept while providing a detailed overview of other relevant research studies in the given field. Therefore, the paper portrays an overview of opportunities for the implementation of digital tools of marketing communication in small, medium-sized and large enterprises.

Opis:
Research background: This paper integrates the marketing and corporate social responsibility concepts by investigating how the previous studies debated CSR as a business strategy. This discussion extended from academics to business practices. Hence, this study investigated the concept of CSR as a business strategy in a multifactorial fashion in the marketing field. Purpose of the article: This study evaluates the modified model of CSR initiatives as business and marketing strategy and their impact on customers' buying behavior. For this purpose, we have taken dimensions of Carroll's pyramid of CSR as marketing strategies. We have also examined the influence of brand loyalty and cause-related marketing as mediating variables and technology as a moderator between dimensions of Carroll's pyramid and customers' buying behavior. Methods: We employed modified theoretical & conceptual model for evaluating the direct and indirect hypothesized relationship. We have collected 693 responses from the structured and adapted questionnaire. The survey was done among marketing and senior managers of the Asian pharmaceutical industry. We employed SEM-based multivariate modeling to examine the hypothesized relationship. Findings & value added: The finding of this research exhibited that dimensions of Carroll's pyramid of CSR have a positive and significant impact on customers' buying behavior. The results further demonstrated that brand loyalty and cause-related marketing positively and significantly impact mediators between CSR dimensions and customers' buying behavior. Finally, the technology has a significant influence as a moderator between exogenous and endogenous factors. The undertaken study demonstrated important theoretical and practical implications. The modified conceptual framework has provided several new dimensions for future researchers to use and replicate in different economic sectors. On the other hand, practitioners of the pharmaceutical industry should incorporate Carroll's CSR pyramid as business strategies to gain the trust and respect of their customers.

Research background: The literature on the effects of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on performance is extensive and shows a significant positive effect. Likewise, the use of ICT to facilitate and report on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices implemented by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) contributes to improve business performance. Moreover, through innovative activities, firms also obtain competitive advantages that impact positively on their performance, even more so when they are impacted by CSR. For this reason, it is expected that the adoption of ICTs in companies through a CSR-oriented strategy will increase their impact on business performance.   Purpose of the article: This article tries to examine how ICT affects SMEs' performance through CSR and innovation. Methods: We tested our hypotheses using a sample of 2,825 Spanish SMEs and by applying a Partial Least Squares Path Modeling (PLS-PM) with a double confirmatory and predictive purpose: to identify the causal relationships between latent variables, and to evaluate the ability of the model to make predictions for individual cases. Findings & value added: The results show that CSR-oriented ICT impacts innovation by changing strategies and business model in companies. Moreover, the implementation of CSR practices gave them competitive advantages to increase their performance. We highlight how innovation gives companies greater capacity to respond to changes in their environment and how innovation positively impacts the link between CSR and performance. Finally, our research makes two significant contributions to the literature by incorporating two sequential mediating effects into the model. On the one hand, the indirect effect of ICT on innovation through CSR. On the other hand, the indirect effect of CSR on SME performance through innovation.
