This paper presents a newly designed stereoscopic video quality metric. Overall insights towards the creation of mechanisms utilized within the genuine metric are presented herein. Delivery of the core information and motivation behind the features implemented, as well as functionality of the Compressed Average Image Intensity (CAII) quality metric are of utmost importance. The mechanisms created might be characterized as an objective, reliable and versatile quality evaluation tool for advanced analysis of the content delivery chain within stereoscopic video services.

Opis:
The paper proposes a No-Reference (NR) quality assessment measurement originally developed for H.264, used for High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). In particular, authors present an investigation of NR metrics to objectively estimate the perceptual quality of a set of processed video sequences. The authors take into account typical distortions introduced by the block-based coding approaches like HEVC codec. The underlying processing used for the quality assessment considers the blockiness caused by the boundaries of each coded block and the blurring as a lack of spatial details. The correlation between the NR quality metrics and the well-known and most widely used objective metric, the Video Quality Model (VQM), is performed to validate the quality prediction accuracy based on the provided scores. The Pearson correlation coefficients obtained stand for promising results for different types of videos.

This paper presents comparison of videotoms and standard television sequences in terms of image distortions and perceived subjective quality affected by H.264/AVC compression with changed bit rate. Results from initial tests, performed as laboratory exercise can be a reference to show scale of diversity in both level of degradation and Mean Opinion Score (MOS) evaluation. Results and comments included in this paper give overview on the codec in uence on videotoms and can suggest approach for further tests and experiments.

This paper proposes idea of videotoms usage in quality tests of video signals. This concept simplifies parametric model creation for television services such as IPTV (Internet Protocol Television), VoD (Video on Demand) and others. Videotom is simple, well-defined video sequence in the context of video quality tests. Presented idea was used in both objective and subjective tests of influence selected network parameters: jitter of delay, packet loss and packet corrupt on the video quality measured using Mean Square Error (MSE) and Mean Opinion Score (MOS) metrics. Results showed that proposed method is useful especially for subjective tests and it can reduce costs and time for them.

Opis:
Video sharing services like YouTube have become very popular which consequently results in a drastic shift of the Internet traffic statistic. When transmitting video content over packet based networks, stringent quality of service (QoS) constraints must be met in order to provide the comparable level of quality to a traditional broadcast television. However, the packet transmission is influenced by delays and losses of data packets which can have devastating influence on the perceived quality of the video. Therefore, we conducted an experimental evaluation of HTTP based video transmission focusing on how they react to packet delay and loss. Through this analysis we investigated how long video playback is stalled and how often re-buffering events take place. Our analysis revealed threshold levels for the packet delay, packet losses and network throughput which should not be exceeded in order to preserve smooth video transmission.
