    Opis:
    The article is a review and its aim is to present a proposal of a measurement method of efficacy of incentive instrument in contemporary sports organizations. The research material used in this paper is of secondary importance. It is based on literature and bibliographic studies. A descriptive method was applied which is one of the induction methods. Motivating employees of sports organizations consists in inducing behavior committed to achieving the goals of the company with stimuli that will satisfy their needs. The efficacy of motivation systems in sports enterprises depends primarily on the competences of operational managers and human resource managers. They may use numerous varied tools to motivate their employees which may be classified as: material monetary, material non-monetary and nonmaterial. However, estimating efficacy of an individual instrument is a fundamental problem for development of organization. With the fast growing sports market, intensive professionalization of sports in Poland and a increasing number of the offered sports products, the importance of human resources will be growing; the competitive position of companies in the global sports market will be subject to their motivating skills

    Opis:
    Background. Tourism plays an increasing role in the Polish national economy. However, its positive impact on the economy is not possible without the implementation of tourism policy. One of its tasks is to analyse the market, including tourism demand (tourist traffic). The aim of the study is to determine the structure of the tourist traffic (domestic and foreign) in the Opole province in 2012. Material and methods. In the study, three main research methods were applied: the heuristic method, the statistical method and the diagnostic survey. The main research method was the diagnostic survey, in which the questionnaire technique was used. The research tool was a questionnaire survey of the tourist traffic, prepared for the study. Surveys were conducted from March to September 2012 in 20 selected towns of the Opole province. Finally, the statistical analysis used 3233 questionnaires correctly filled in by the respondents. As part of the statistical analysis, the number and frequency of individual responses selections were calculated. Results. Most of the respondents (about 69.5%) are domestic tourists, mainly from the Silesia and Lower Silesia. Foreigners (mostly Germans and Czechs) constitute 30.5% of respondents. Tourists visiting the Opole province are most often people with higher or secondary education, economically active, with average incomes. The main motives of their trips are leisure and learning, the dominant transportation vehicles are car and bus, and the most common accommodation facilities are hotels. Opole city is the most often visited by tourists. Conclusions. The analysis of the study results showed that systematic examination of tourist traffic is necessary in the Opole region and in other Polish regions.

    Background. The location and service program are the most important factors which determine the business success of a hotel. The aim of the study was to identify the most important factors influencing the location decisions with reference to new hotels, depending on the assumed strategy of profit maximisation. Material and methods. In the study, two main research methods were applied: deduction and diagnostic survey (in-depth interview), carried out among the owners or managers of 24 hotels created in 2000–2009 in the provinces of Lower Silesia, Opole, and Silesia. Results. It was shown that the strategy of maximising profits had an influence on location factors considered in the process of selecting new hotel locations. Slightly different factors were taken into account by entrepreneurs pursuing a strategy of minimising costs and by those maximising revenues. Conclusions. A further, in-depth research on the issue of hotel location reasons should be performed.
