- The article fits in mainstream considerations devoted to the ties between romantic music and literature. The author wonders about the importance of creativity of Kornel Ujej-ski work for nineteenth century attempts of translating music into poetic words. The poem Wniebowzięcie from the series Tłumaczenia Szopena [Translations of Chopin] is the subject of analysis, which is considered to be one of the best achievement in this regard. The simultaneous description of Chopin’s Prelude in A major (op. 28, no 7) leads to indicate the multi layer dependence between the literary work and its musical archetype. Ujejski does not stop at devotion to the moody nature of the composition. The piano preparation of the author as well as a special workflow on the texts enabled broadens range of an interpretation of structural convergence as an important achievement of the poet. The series requires two types of assessment – taking into account the artistic consciousness of the epoch and doubts in contemporary interdisciplinary comparative literature.
