    Opis:
    The idea of social integration and integration education is a great challenge not only for the Polish education system, but also for theoretical analyzes and systemic practical solutions aimed at building an integrated society. In relation to people with disabilities is not only an exemplification of the provisions contained in the “Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” (UN, 2006). It also concerns the change in the social vision of the accessibility of these people to structures existing in contemporary, disability-opening civilized society. However, as demonstrated by the results of research reported in the article, there is still a lot to be done by implementing the postulates created by the ideas of integrating people regardless of their diversity, otherness, physical, mental, and social difference.

    Opis:
    Współczesna rzeczywistość niesie za sobą wiele niekorzystnych zjawisk społecznych, tak dla jednostek, jak i całych grup. Pomoc udzielana przez systemy profesjonalnego wsparcia zarówno na świecie, jak i w Polsce jest niewystarczająca. W kontekście realizacji zdań w dziedzinie usług społecznych podkreśla się dużą rolę profesjonalnie zorganizowanego wolontariatu w zakresie rozwiązywania problemów społecznych. Wartą uwagi propozycją, z powodzeniem realizowaną w Wielkiej Brytanii, są programy wolontariatu koleżeńskiego funkcjonujące tam jako standard pomocy osobom zagrożonym wykluczeniem społecznym. W Polsce ta forma wolontariatu jest wciąż mało znana, a programy wolontariatu koleżeńskiego nie są popularne. Trudno jest spotkać problematykę wolontariatu koleżeńskiego wśród polskojęzycznych opracowań. Celem artykułu jest zatem uzupełnienie luki w tym zakresie. Zostaną w nim omówione założenia, sposób organizacji oraz formy tego typu wsparcia, a także korzyści z niego płynące i jego ograniczenia głównie na przykładzie rozwiązań stosowanych w Wielkiej Brytanii. Z uwagi na zwiększające się w Polsce zapotrzebowanie na działania zapobiegające wykluczeniu społecznemu czy wspierające proces (re)integracji społecznej, doświadczenia brytyjskie oraz istniejące konceptualizacje i praktyki związane z wolontariatem koleżeńskim mogą pełnić rolę inspiracji.
    Contemporary reality brings many adverse social phenomena, both for individuals and entire groups. The assistance provided by professional support systems are insufficient as in Poland as in the world. The important role of professionally organized volunteering in solving social problems is emphasized in the context of implementing tasks in the field of social services. Noteworthy proposal successfully implemented in United Kingdom are mentoring and befriending programs functioning there as a standard of assistance to people at risk of social exclusion. This form of volunteering is still little known in Poland and mentoring programs are not popular. It is difficult to find works in Polish on studies related to volunteering in the form of befriending and mentoring. Therefore, the article is to fill the gap in this regard. The article presents the assumptions, organization, forms of this type off support as well as its benefits and limitations basing mainly on the example of the solutions used in United Kingdom. Considering the growing demand in Poland for measures preventing social exclusion or supporting the process of (re)integration, the British examples as well as the existing conceptualisations and practices related to mentoring and befriending may be used as inspiration.

    W każdym zespole klasowym tworzy się swoista nieformalna struktura. W zależności od tego, jaką pozycję społeczną zajmuje w niej uczeń, klasa stanowi dla niego atrakcyjne miejsce albo teren przykrych doświadczeń – strachu, niepokoju i lęku. W celu poznania funkcjonowania uczniów w klasie szkolnej przeprowadzono badania, w których zastosowano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego z autorskim kwestionariuszem ankiety. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że część uczniów nawiązuje kontakty społeczne z innymi. Wykonuje zadania zalecane przez nauczyciela, rozwiązuje zadania, odrabia lekcje a także czyta lektury i pełni dyżury w klasie. Większość uczniów ocenia swoje postępowanie w klasie pozytywnie. Pojawiają się też zachowania negatywne, które powinny być korygowane przez nauczycieli.
    In each class team a specific informal structure is created. Depending on the social position of the student in this structure, the class is for him an attractive place or area of unpleasant experiences – fear and anxiety. In order to learn about the functioning of students in the school class, research was carried out using the diagnostic survey method with the author's own questionnaire. The research shows that some students make social contacts with others. They perform the tasks recommended by the teacher, solve tasks, do homework and also read and are on duty in the classroom. Most students evaluate their class behaviour positively. There are also negative behaviours that should be corrected by teachers.

    The topic of the article is the situation of the Roma ethnic group in Poland as beneficiaries of assistance activities in the broad sense of the term – both of the social welfare system, as well as education and labour market institutions. In the first part, a short description of the Roma community in Poland will be presented on the background of other countries of the region, with particular emphasis on their social and living situation and moral changes. The situation of Roma living in Poland as clients of the social welfare sector will be described further along with challenges and dilemmas for social work and designing sectoral policies, including labour market and education, resulting from working in a culturally different environment from the majority society. In the context of multiculturalism policy implementation, the issue of potential possibilities of adapting national social policy to the specific needs and cultural requirements of the Roma ethnic minority will be discussed, as well as examples of good practices will be presented. The text is based on existing data sources, as well as partly on the author's own research conducted due to being prepared PhD dissertation and her personal experience in working with Roma in Małopolska and Upper Silesia.

    Principle of Normalization have had a profound impact on all the disability rehabilitation services across the world. Many radical changes towards services for persons with disabilities were brought by Principle of Normalization, originated in 1969 few of such changes are inclusion, full inclusion, self determination, individualized support, community based rehabilitation, integration etc. As a consequence of Normalization, disability gained the attention of the mass and became very popular across the globe as ‘a right based ideology, which in turn, initiated integration, inclusion, community based rehabilitation and other non-segregating practices but surprisingly inclusion became very popular much more than Normalization. In fact inclusion has its root in Principle of Normalization. This chapter is intended to introduce the Principle of Normalization as a philosophy behind inclusive practices. An understanding of principle of normalization is essential to understand inclusion or other such inclusive practices in true sense. This chapter discusses in detail all eight facets of normalization an the reasons why it was misunderstood and further extended as social role valorization.

    Dynamika współczesnej rzeczywistości wyraża się w szybkich i radykalnych zmianach demograficzno-społecznych. Zmiany te wymuszają konieczność dostosowania istniejących instytucji do potrzeb wszystkich grup wiekowych. Niezwykle interesującą instytucją wychodząca naprzeciw potrzeb osób w każdym wieku są uniwersytety międzypokoleniowe. W artykule podjęto się ukazania specyfiki funkcjonowania w zakresie integracji międzypokoleniowej stowarzyszenia o nazwie Uniwersytet Międzypokoleniowy przy Wydziale Nauk Społecznych Uniwersytetu Warmińsko-Mazurskiego w Olsztynie (UM WNS). Wymieniona organizacja jest przykładem dobrej praktyki w zakresie działań sprzyjających solidarności międzygeneracyjnej i więzi oraz relacji międzypokoleniowych. Do badań wykorzystano metodę przeszukiwania i analizy źródeł wtórnych, znajdujących się w bieżącym archiwum podręcznym stowarzyszenia oraz archiwum cyfrowym zgromadzonym przez UM WNS. W artykule przedstawiono zarówno zarys działalności UM WNS w perspektywie współpracy organizacji z instytucjami środowiska lokalnego (zwłaszcza środowisk seniorskich), jak i charakterystykę pracy w obszarze międzypokoleniowym: realizacji warsztatów, wykładów, seminariów i konferencji.
    The dynamics of contemporary reality are expressed in rapid and radical demographic and social changes. These changes necessitate the need to adapt existing institutions to the needs of all age groups. An extremely interesting institution meeting the needs of people of all ages are intergenerational universities. The article undertakes to show the specificity of functioning in the field of intergenerational integration of an association called the Intergenerational University at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (UM WNS). This organisation is an example of good practice in activities conducive to intergenerational solidarity and intergenerational ties and relationships. The research used the method of searching and analysing secondary sources, located in the current reference archive of the association and the digital archive collected by the UM WNS. The article presents both the outline of the activities of the UM WNS in the perspective of the organization's cooperation with institutions of the local environment (especially seniors) and the characteristics of work in the intergenerational area: the implementation of workshops, lectures, seminars and conferences.
