classification of maritime tourism
Opis:
In the polish literature there is noticeable the lack of terminology of maritime tourism and its classification. This issue has been treated rather occasionally till now, without any deeply analysis of the basic definitions and concepts. The maritime tourism is variously defined by different sectors in various conutries, it means by: geographers, planners, experts of marine sector, tour-operators or ferry and cruising companies. In this light, it seems reasonable to try to sort out the basic terms and concepts. The main aim of this article is the analysis of the existing definitions and classification proposed in the literature of Polish and foreign languages. It is also made the critical analysis of these definitions and concepts. The value added of the article is the attempt to define maritime tourism by the author. Moreover, the author shows a list of criteria that could be implemented in the statistical researches of demand in the maritime tourism sector and possible forms of maritime tourism. The researches were realized using a method of desk research, a critical analysis of the available literature and comparative analysis.

Opis:
Cruise ship tourism is an important segment of the maritime tourism market. “Cruising, according to CLIA (Cruise Line International Association), is one of the safest, most affordable and enjoyable vacation experiences available today and the industry continually reviews best practices and develops innovative technologies to further strengthen its safety record. A record 20 million – plus global passengers went on a cruise in 2012” [1]. In addition, this branch of industry has also generated thousands of jobs at sea and in the ports of calls and has brought huge incomes for local economies in visited tourist destinations. The main objective of this article is to assess the state of development of cruise ships tourism in Poland. In the first part of the article, there are included analysis of the number of cruise ship calls and passengers and there were also presented the largest cruise vessels that have visited seaports in Poland. There is also described the state of preparation of the seaports in Poland to support cruise ships. Moreover, there are also discussed the scope of services of the seaports in Poland, offered to ship-owners and a range of fees which must be borne by them. In addition, there are presented entities involved in handling of cruise ships while staying at the seaports. The article ends with a summary where it was indicated, inter alia, the reasons for the decreasing trend in the number of calls of cruise ships in Polish seaports.

Opis:
The exercise of the economic and social functions of maritime tourism has undergone significant changes in recent years. A case in point is the development of the maritime cruise fleet, in both quantitative and qualitative terms, across various regions. This is a result of, among other things, the changing needs of international tourists in particular regions. The worldwide expansion of globalization has also marked a turnaround in preferences, with customers now willing to visit regions formerly unattractive or rarely considered by tourists. These changes are also visible in the variety of transport modalities available to passengers for both domestic and international voyages. To a large extent, these changes stem from technological developments. New possibilities for quick and efficient passenger transport have contributed to transforming maritime tourism in many countries. This, in turn, has led to increasing volumes of tourist traffic, generating economic growth for such nations. This article discusses contemporary trends in the world’s cruise ship fleets in the context of the technical parameters of global cruise shipping. The authors have attempted to determine the basic quantitative parameters and metrics expected for characterizing the global cruise ship fleet. To accomplish this, the method of linear regression has been used, with the input data being the sizes of cruise ship fleets and some other characteristic parameters, during particular time periods, carrying capacities, registered tonnages, numbers of passenger cabins, main and auxiliary engine powers, and levels of fuel consumption. The econometric model of linear regression has allowed calculating the projected values for the nearest future.

Opis:
With the development of tourism in the inland waters, various types of accidents in the waters have posed a great threat to human life, property, and the environment. This has caused concern in all circles of society. According to water tourism safety issues, and relying on Internet technology, shipping safety, and public safety management theory, this paper has proposed the concept and design plan of an Internet + maritime emergency management platform. This platform includes functions such as the intelligent perception of a ship’s navigation status, the scientific selection of a maritime emergency rescue site, the emergency rescue scene, the online dynamic management of maritime emergency resources, and the online production of a maritime emergency rescue plan. The design scheme has been used in the platform’s development. This paper has taken the application of the Internet + maritime emergency management platform for the Liujiaxia reservoir in the Gansu Province of China as an example. The results showed that the design of the platform that has been proposed in this paper is reasonable and that it can provide scientific, fast and accurate decision information for emergency command in the Liujiaxia reservoir and improve the effective control of the accident site as well as the use of resources.
