Opis:
Objectives of the study: The quest to establish how skits and comic illustrations have made an impact through healthy learning for social change prompted this study that focuses on students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, (RUGIPO) Ondo State. As a result, the research questions that guided this study were: what is RUGIPO students’ extent of exposure to skits programs and educational comic illustrations? What are the health benefits of their exposure to comedy skits and comic cartoons? What is the impact of skits and comic illustrations on the students’ lifestyles, and lastly, what are the similarities and differences in the two media that determine their transmedia rendering components. Research method: The method used in this study is essentially a survey method, which is crucial for obtaining opinions from the target population. A descriptive research approach was also used in clarifying essential concepts. A brief description of the context: Transmedia storytelling is narration across multiple media, each contributing to the story; in that regard, it becomes innovative. Skits with comic illustrations are forms of media that can be used in the teaching process. Their core component is humor, very popular in Nigeria, which is experiencing all forms of social problems, also evident in academia. Social learning theory, developmental media theory and the Socio-Ecological Model are the theoretical frameworks adopted in this study. They are based on the media and also rooted in psychology and sociology, thereby forming a background to ground the findings of the study. Research findings: The findings revealed there is a great shortage of local transmedia production, while the development of transmedia narratives is a complex creative exercise from a technical point of view. However, the more students read and watch humorous content through skits and comic illustrations, the more they learn how to interact in their peer groups. Skits and comic illustrations as a form of media remain influential. Conclusions and recommendations: Both skits and comic illustrations rely on humor. The study therefore explained that when exposed to both, the health benefits are psychological and enhance mental health. Among other things, it suggested that the National Orientation Agency of Nigeria should adopt transmedia storytelling as a strategic tool to enhance their sensitization campaigns. Creators of skits and comic illustrations are also advised to consider native  transmedia productions for wider reach and positive social change.

Opis:
Current need of the social integration of people with a handicap, either physical, social, or other, finds significant professional response in a field of pre-school and elementary education. In the accordance with the request of holistic child's personality development (harmonious integration of its cognitive, social-emotional, and perceptual-motoric areas) the education by art seems to be helpful and effective in removing barriers and deepening child's skills to understand and respect the otherness and also as one of the effective ways leading to the social acceptation and inclusion of people with some kind of a handicap. Paper deals with the possibilities of educational use of illustrated books for children and youth, which thematize one of the handicap types – visual impairment. It roots from the assumption of high effectivity of the experiential methods (“through personal experience to understanding”) and examines inclusive thinking formation options and attitudes of intact pupils through experiential activities, which use illustrated books thematizing blindness. Solution of the issue comes from the analysis and comparison of the poethological aspects of artistic expression of such handicap in concrete book titles. There are compared artistic-expressive and receptive specifics of various illustrative approaches, particularly their aesthetic-experiential potential – extent of possible sensor, emotional, and cognitive experiences, which offer various modalities of the illustrative rendering of visual impairment to the child's recipient. The same attention is given to their ethical and axiological reflection. In the context of these findings, there are defined paradigmatic differences between the books illustrated in traditional ways and artistically experimental books. Following this, there are outlined alternative models of the didactical application of the issue.

Opis:
Kontakt ze sztuką plastyczną i pierwsze doświadczenia w komunikacji wizualnej zapewniają dziecku książki obrazkowe i ilustrowane. Dlatego istotne jest, by miały one swoje określone miejsce w codzienności dziecka i by stanowiły wartościowe pod względem poznawczym i estetycznym bodźce.
Picture books and illustrated books provide children with contact with fine art and their first visual communication experience. Therefore, it is important for them to have their place in the child’s daily routine and to be valuable in terms of cognitive and aesthetic stimuli. The current market for children’s books is outstandingly abundant and offers publications that are addressed to a narrow group of recipients, which distinguish themselves with diversified perceptual capabilities. This constitutes an attempt to order picture books and illustrated books, taking into account the complexity of visual demonstration and defining their recipients. As a result of analysing available books for children, the following categories of illustration have been distinguished and discussed: representational – “one – element” representational – “multi – elements” and situational narrative with a single set narrative with a multi set framework - emotional framework – symbolic symbolic – context. Other categories characteristic of the visual construction method have been supported with examples of publications of children’s picture books. The coverage focuses on the value of the connection between children and diverse solutions of illustrated art. Moreover, it pays particular attention to the meaning of illustration in the visual literacy of children and its role in introducing the world of art.
