    RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The research of this paper is to expose the relationship  between social innovations and the quality of education. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: Young people entering the labor market become creators of the future. It is necessary to define what should be done to improve their ability to take part in social innovations. The comparative method was used in the version of the consent method, as well as structuralism and subjectivity, additionally using the elements of the behavioral method. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The essay begins by reviewing definitions of social innovations and fundamentals elements. Afterward, educational social innovations from different places all over the world including Colorado, Honk-Kong, Spain, Latvia, Poland, and Australia were described and compared. Finally, there was a presentation of research results and summary with recommendations. RESEARCH RESULTS: Based on research, case studies and experiments led in various areas such as technology, health, medical, engineering, and entrepreneurship, this article demonstrates social innovations as an essential factor in improving social life. Universities have the key role in the lead social innovation projects, especially in cooperation with local society and local business. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The best practices are recommended for multiplication and popularization in the future. Young people have to learn teamwork, critical thinking and ability to find added value in their activities. An article describes the best way to improve those competitions is social innovations.

    RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: An attempt to assess the didactic‑qualitative crisis manifested in integrated education, taking place in a typical school during traditional classes with children in grades 1‑3. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: In the presented article, qualitative – critical analysis covered the complexity, ambiguities and barriers to the implementation of the concept of inte‑ gration in social practices by teachers The descriptive‑explanatory‑interpretative method was used. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The key importance of early childhood education was presented in terms of the quality of education in the actually existing state in schools. RESEARCH RESULTS: Indication of qualitative strategies supporting holistic development of the child. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Metamorphosis of the way of teaching – learning, searching for traces of constructivist “otherness.”

    For the purpose of specifying the concept of the quality of preschool education, this publication presents part of the results of a wider study aimed at researching the notion of the “good/quality kindergarten teacher”. 72 students preparing to become preschool teachers in the Faculty of Primary and Preschool Education of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Bulgaria took part in this research. The main method used for research is analysis of the students’ individual written essays on the subject “My idea of a good/quality kindergarten teacher”. The collected essays were subjected to qualitative analysis aimed at the distribution of the contained opinions regarding the essence of the notion of “good/quality kindergarten teacher” into an unlimited number of semantic categories, provisionally divided into two main groups: 1) general personal qualities, skills, attitudes, etc.; and 2) specialized professional qualities, skills, attitudes, etc. This paper presents the distributions of 136 categories, defined following the analysis of the data. Since half of the participating students (36) were approached at the beginning of their university education and the other half (36) participated during the middle of their last year, the publication specifically marks some of the most important differences in the relevant viewpoints of first-year students in comparison to the opinion of graduating students.

    Celem artykułu jest ukazanie założeń edukacji dla zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz możliwości ich realizowania w przedszkolu. Edukacja ta ujmuje całościowo aspekty dotyczące edukacji ekologicznej, społecznej i ekonomicznej. Ponadto, edukacja dla zrównoważonego rozwoju jest ściśle powiązana z działaniami na rzecz zrównoważonej jakości życia. Pomaga w zrozumieniu siebie i otaczającej rzeczywiści, a także pozwala na budowanie pozytywnych relacji z bliższym i dalszym otoczeniem. Wychodząc z założeń o potrzebie odejścia od metod dedukcyjnych w procesie nauczania, w artykule przedstawione zostały założenia metod opartych na dociekaniu i rozumowaniu oraz STEAM. Na podstawie analizy polskich podstaw programowych wychowania przedszkolnego z lat 1999, 2008 oraz 2017 i ich porównania dokonana została ich interpretacja. Głównym założeniem tychże badań jest wskazanie kierunku zmian i możliwości wprowadzania metod, które mają podnieść jakość kształcenia dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym.  Żyjemy w erze społeczeństwa wiedzy, która się zmienia i jest coraz bardziej złożona, dlatego wymaga to nowych kompetencji.
    The objective of the article is to show the educational assumptions for sustainable development, as well as the ability to fulfil them in preschool. Such education encompasses aspects related to ecological, social and economic education, perceiving them as elements of a whole. Moreover, education for sustainable development is closely connected with actions promoting the sustainable quality of life. It helps us understand ourselves and the surrounding reality, and it enables us to build good relationships with people. Starting from the assumption that we have to depart from deductive methods in the process of education, the author of the article presents the assumptions of the methods based on inquiry, reasoning and STEAM. On the basis of the analysis and comparison of Polish curricula of preschool education for the years 1999, 2008 and 2017, their interpretation was prepared. The main assumption of this analysis is indicating the direction of changes and opportunities to introduce the methods that are to improve the quality of preschool children education. We live in the era of the society of knowledge which is changing and becoming more and more complex, which is why the situation requires new competences.

    Celem recenzji jest zaprezentowanie znanego naukowego czasopisma – jego dziewięciu ostatnich numerów opublikowanych od 2002 roku w Polsce. Temat omawianych artykułów zawartych w każdym numerze półrocznika „Horyzonty Wychowania” był analizowany na dwa sposoby. Pierwszym była analiza ilościowa, czyli zastosowano ocenę treści najbardziej popularnych krajowych i społecznych czasopism pedagogicznych; a drugim – z punktu widzenia kilku tematów, utożsamionych w każdym z wybranych numerów z powszechnymi naukowymi europejskimi problemami pedagogicznymi oraz ich pochodnymi wówczas, gdy zajmowały kluczowe miejsce w danym artykule. Autor podejmuje próbę zwrócenia uwagi czytelnika na unikatowy i naukowo uzasadniony charakter recenzowanego czasopisma. Wszystkie numery stanowią obszerne opracowania w zakresie próby określenia procesów i ich odrębności dla teoretycznych implikacji w okresie anomii, anomalii, nieprawidłowości i zmiany społecznej.
    The purpose of this review article is to present a comparative analysis of a well-known scientific journal – its last nine issues published since 2002 inPoland. The subject of the discussed papers included in each issue of the semi-annual journal “Horizons of Education” was analyzed in two ways. The first one was quantitative analysis, i.e. the assessment of the contents was applied to the most popular national and social educational journals; and the second one, from the point of view of several topics, which were identified in each of the chosen issues with general scientific European educational problems and their consequences when their place was essential in the body of a given article. The author makes an attempt to draw the reader’s attention to the unique and scientifically justified character of the reviewed journal. All issues constitute comprehensive studies as far as an attempt to conceptualize processes and their identity for theoretical implications in the period of anomy, anomaly, irregularity and social change.

    W wychowaniu współczesnego człowieka szczególnie doniosłą rolę przypisuje się sztuce. Integralne, całościowe rozumienie sztuki i jej wychowawczego oddziaływania pozwala na stwierdzenie, że sztuka ma dziecku wiele do zaoferowania. Uczestniczy w kształtowaniu jego intelektu, wrażliwości, kreatywności, wyobraźni i postawy twórczej, które stanowią niewątpliwie największe skarby każdej jednostki i powinny być pielęgnowane i rozwijane od pierwszych lat jej życia. Różnorodne podejścia do twórczości dzieci oraz próby stymulacji ich rozwoju plastycznego są przedmiotem badań wielu polskich i zagranicznych pedagogów (S. Popek, I. Wojnar, U. Szuścik, S. Szuman, V. Lowenfeld, P. Wallon i inni), dlatego zainteresowanie tym tematem potwierdza ważność problemu zawartego w niniejszym opracowaniu. Jego rozwiązanie sprowadzało się do ustalenia, czy intensyfikacja procesu dydaktyczno--wychowawczego dzieci 7-letnich poprzez inspirowanie wyobraźni bodźcami w postaci muzyki instrumentalnej uczyni proces działania twórczego aktywniejszym, bardziej interesującym dla ucznia, a także skuteczniejszym z uwagi na ostateczny jego efekt. Zasadniczą metodą badań jaką zastosowano w prezentowanej pracy był naturalny eksperyment pedagogiczny. W przypadku tego eksperymentu oparto się na kanonie jedynej różnicy. Zastosowano również technikę obserwacji skategoryzowanej oraz technikę wywiadu ex post. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników badań można przyjąć, iż stymulacja aktywności plastycznej bodźcami słuchowymi w postaci programowej muzyki instrumentalnej wzbogaca jakość wytworów plastycznych dzieci 7-letnich. Zajęcia plastyczne o charakterze integracyjnym są korzystniejsze dla dzieci ze względu na fakt, iż w większym stopniu rozwijają inwencję twórczą autora pracy plastycznej oraz kształcą jego wrażliwość artystyczną i procesy poznawcze (spostrzeganie, myślenie, wyobraźnię). Pobudzają zatem różne sfery aktywności dziecka, co sprzyja harmonijnemu i wszechstronnemu rozwijaniu osobowości.
    In the education of modern man a particularly important role is attributed to art. An integrated, holistic understanding of art and its educational impact leads to the conclusion that it has a great deal to offer children. It contributes to the development of their intellect, sensitivity, originality, imagination and creative attitude, where these are without doubt the most valuable attributes of each and every individual, which should be nurtured and developed right from the very first years of life. The various ways in which one can approach the creative activities of children and try to stimulate their artistic development have been the subject of research by numerous Polish and foreign pedagogues (S. Popek, I. Wojnar, U. Szuścik, S. Szuman, V. Lowenfeld, P. Wallon, and others), and such an interest in the topic confirms the importance of the particular issue addressed here. The latter centres on the problem of determining whether or not intensifying the educational process by stimulating the imaginations of sevenyear-olds with instrumental music results in a more active approach to the creative process itself – one in which pupils are more involved, and which is more effective from the point of view of its ultimate results. The essential research method used in this thesis has been the natural pedagogical experiment. The experiment mentioned was based on the canon of difference. Another applied technique has been the categorized observation as well as the ex post audit technique. On the basis of research results it could be acknowledged that the artistic activity stimulation in the form of instrumental music helps to enrich the quality of artistic work of 7-year-olds. Art classes of the integration nature are more beneficial to children due to the fact of developing creativity of the author’s art work and developing his artistic sensitivity and cognitive processes (perception, thinking, imagination). Therefore they stimulate different child’s activity spheres which foster the harmonious and comprehensive personality development.
