The Gevrey order is indicated by the rate of divergence of a formal power series. This paper is a continuation of the previous papers [Convergence of formal solutions of singular first order nonlinear partial differential equations of totally characteristic type, Funkcial. Ekvac. 45 (2002), 187-208] and [Maillet type theorem for singular first order nonlinear partial differential equations of totally characteristic type, Surikaiseki Kenkyujo Kokyuroku, Kyoto University 1431 (2005), 94-106]. Especially the last-mentioned paper is regarded as part I of this paper.

In [Singular perturbation of linear systems with a regular singularity, J. Dynam. Control. Syst. 8 (2002), 313-322], Balser and Kostov proved the Borel summability of formal solutions with respect to a singular perturbation parameter for a linear equation with one independent variable. We shall extend their results to a semilinear system of equations with general independent variables.

We consider Wiener type algebras on an open Banach ball. In particular, we prove that such algebras consist of functions analytic in this ball. We also consider a property of one-parameter groups generated by an isometric group acting on a Banach ball. We establish that the subspace of exponential type vectors of its generators form a dense subalgebra in a Wiener algebra and a generator is a derivation on this subspace.

We consider the classical solutions of mixed problems for infinite, countable systems of parabolic functional differential equations. Difference methods of two types are constructed and convergence theorems are proved. In the first type, we approximate the exact solutions by solutions of infinite difference systems. Methods of second type are truncation of the infinite difference system, so that the resulting difference problem is finite and practically solvable. The proof of stability is based on a comparison technique with nonlinear estimates of the Perron type for the given functions. The comparison system is infinite. Parabolic problems with deviated variables and integro-differential problems can be obtained from the general model by specifying the given operators.

This article presents the execution and results of tests of the loading efficiency of wormtype cutting drums as a function of the slope of a longwall working. The tests were carried out at various angles of longitudinal inclination of a longwall within a range of 0 degrees to 9 degrees along the strike. In real conditions, the separation of the two basic processes that take place during operation of a longwall shearer (i.e., milling and loading) is not possible; therefore, the research was carried out under laboratory conditions at the Department of Mining, Dressing, and Transport Machines at AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. The tests were carried out on a special station that allowed for the gradual change of the longitudinal and transverse slope of a longwall working. Based on the conducted tests, it was found that the inclination of a longwall working influences the loading efficiency; i.e., that, along with an increase in the angle of the longitudinal inclination, loading resistance increases while the loading efficiency decreases.

Opis:
We present the asymptotic analysis of the steady advection-diffusion equation in a thin tube. The problem is modeled in a mixed-type variational formulation, in order to separate the phenomenon in the axial direction and a transverse one. Such formulation makes visible the natural separation of scales within the problem and permits a successful asymptotic analysis, delivering a limiting form, free from the initial geometric singularity and suitable for approximating the original one. Furthermore, it is shown that the limiting problem can be simplified to a significantly simpler structure.

If the initial energy is appropriately small, we derive the global existence theorem and its exponential decay.

For a positive integer $ m $ and a finite non-negative Borel measure $ \mu $ on the unit circle, we study the Hadamard multipliers of higher order weighted Dirichlet-type spaces $ \mathcal{H}_{\mu,m} $. We show that if $ \alpha > 1/2 $, then for any $ f $ in $ \mathcal{H}_{\mu,m} $, the sequence of generalized Cesàro sums $ { \sigma_n^\alpha | f | } $ converges to $ f $. We further show that if $ \alpha = 1/2 $ then for the Dirac delta measure supported at any point on the unit circle, the previous statement breaks down for every positive integer $ m $.

The analysis and quality control of potentially curative water in Krzeszowice (Lesser Poland Region, Poland) has been carried out since 2002. The analyses are performed in the certified Hydrogeochemical Laboratory of the AGH University of Science and Technology and the laboratory of Provincial Environmental Protection Inspectorate in Krakow. The main purpose of this paper was to confirm the denomination of the hydrochemical type of water taken from “Zdrój Główny” both for major ions and sulphur(II) compounds concentration which are specific components and assign curative properties to the examined water. On the basis of statistical analysis, it was stated that the concentrations of SO₄, Ca, Mg, HCO₃ and sulphur(II) compounds can be regarded as stable. Different methods of hydrochemical type determination lead to various classifications of groundwater. In the deterministic method and the probabilistic method with use of expanded uncertainty, the hydrochemical type of the examined water is SO₄ -Ca-Mg, S. In the probabilistic method where the standard deviation was taken into account, fewer components were in the hydrochemical type (SO₄-Ca)-sulphur(II) compounds did not exceed the threshold value of 1 mg/L and, in this situation, the water cannot be regarded as potentially curative.

Opis:
The relationship between ore mineralogy and downstream processing is well known in the mining industry. In fact, the very definition of a mineral deposit as an ore body depends on its susceptibility to processing in an economical manner. With an ore tracking system, the information about each ore block, gained during exploration and mining, could be used as input data to the mineral processing operation. This would allow the real-time optimization and control of the ore processing. A smart ore tracking system can be developed by using soft sensor technique. The ore tracking system utilizes the real time information available in both SCADA and database of a mine. Using the ore geological data and the tonnage of ore being treated, the ore tracking system calculates and provides ore type information such as ore mixing percentage, ore grade and ore hardness and density. The ore type information provided by the ore tracking system can be made available at all process units at a mine, including primary crusher, primary stock pile, primary scrubbers, secondary scrubbers, secondary crushers, re-crusher stock pile, dense media separation stock piles, dense media separation feeders, and the feed to next processing plant. The smart ore tracking system, developed originally for a diamond mine, can be used for other mines, such as iron ore, coal, chromite ore, manganese ore, etc.
Zależność pomiędzy mineralogią rudy a przeróbką jest bardzo dobrze znana w przemyśle górniczym. W rzeczywistości, definicja złoża mineralnego jako rudy zależy od jego podatności na procesy przeróbcze z punktu widzenia ekonomii. Przy zastosowaniu systemu "śledzenia" rudy informacja o każdym bloku rudy jest uzyskiwana podczas procesu wydobycia i obróbki górniczej. Może być ona zastosowana jako dane wejściowe do operacji przeróbki surowców mineralnych. Pozwoli to na optymalizację w czasie rzeczywistym i kontrolę procesów przeróbczych. Inteligentny system "śledzenia" rudy można uzyskać za pomocą techniki sensorowej. System ten korzysta z informacji w czasie rzeczywistym dostępnych zarówno w SCADA jak i bazie danych kopalni. Przy zastosowaniu danych geologicznych i informacji na temat ilości przerabianej rudy system oblicza i przewiduje informacje nt. rudy, tj. procent mieszania rudy, stopień rozdrobnienia, twardość, czy gęstość. Informacje te mogą stanowić bazę dla każdego procesu przeróbczego w kopalni, wliczając pierwsze kruszenie, pierwsze składowanie, pierwsze sortowanie, drugie kruszenie, drugie sortowanie, powtórne kruszenie, rozdział w cieczach ciężkich itp. System "śledzenia" rudy, wynaleziony pierwotnie dla kopalni diamentów może zostać zastosowany w innych kopalniach, tj. kopalnia żelaza, węgla, chromu, manganu itp.
