Opis:
The article was presented a practical approach to the non-profit national transport of domestic animals. Authors tried to create a kind of tutorial which would facilitate decisions associated with the animal transport. The article contains advices related to the safety of pets and their caregivers during the transport. Authors also discussed aspects of the dangers and penalties waiting drivers that transport their animals in incorrect way. In addition was presented range of security forms used in domestic transport (transporters, cages, transport bags etc.) and practical advices connected with parameters that need to be considered during buying appropriate security form.
W artykule zostało przedstawione praktyczne podejście do niezarobkowego przewozu zwierząt w drogowym transporcie krajowym. Starano się stworzyć swego rodzaju poradnik, który ułatwiłby podróże ze zwierzętami. Artykuł zawiera praktyczne porady związane z bezpieczeństwem zwierząt domowych oraz ich opiekunów podczas transportu. Omówione zostały również aspekty związane z zagrożeniami czekającymi kierowców przewożących zwierzęta w sposób nieprawidłowy. Wspomniano o karach, jakie wiążą się z nieprawidłowym przewozem zwierząt. Ponadto zaprezentowano gamę form zabezpieczeń (transportery, klatki, torby itd.) oraz porady dotyczące tego, na co należy zwrócić uwagę podczas zakupu odpowiedniego zabezpieczenia.

Opis:
Over the past few years, interest in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (commonly referred to as drones) has increased. Uncontrolled drone flights poses a threat to air navigation, including air transport. The aim of this article is to identify potential sources of this threat, together with the identification of Polish legal regulations that respond to them. Conclusions will be based on proposals de lege ferenda, i.e., related to the postulated change of legal regulations, in order to limit the risk of incidents. The object of the article is subordinate to its structure, consisting of five parts. In the first part, the concept of unmanned aerial vehicles used by the Polish legislature will be defined, which is necessary because of the inaccuracies surrounding it. The second part will present ways to use drones for civilian purposes. The next part of the article will describe the cases of accident and aerial incidents involving drones. The fourth part focuses on the indication of Polish legal regulations related to the exploitation of drones. The article closes with concise conclusions.

Opis:
Analyzing the level of Polish transport safety culture can be seen that it is now dependent on the culture of safety management within the organization and the requirements and recommendations of law in this field for different modes of transport (air, rail, road, water). Of the four basic types of transport requirements are widely developed in the aviation, rail, and water – the sea. In order to harmonize the requirements for transport safety so it appears advisable to develop a platform for exchange of safety information for different modes of transport, and the development of good practices multimodal offering the possibility of improving Polish transport safety. Described in the publication of the proposal in addition to the alignment platform experience and knowledge in the field of transport safety in all its kinds, it can also be a tool for perfecting new operators of public transport.
Analizując poziom kultury bezpieczeństwa transportu Polski, można zauważyć, że jest on obecnie zależny od kultury zarządzania bezpieczeństwem w organizacji oraz od wymagań i zaleceń prawa w tym zakresie. Z czterech podstawowych rodzajów transportu (lotniczy, kolejowy, drogowy, wodny) wymagania te są szeroko rozwinięte w transporcie lotniczym, kolejowym i wodnym – morskim. W celu ujednolicenia wymagań bezpieczeństwa transportu zasadne wydaje się więc opracowanie platformy umożliwiającej wymianę informacji w zakresie bezpieczeństwa dla różnych gałęzi transportu oraz opracowanie multimodalnego systemu dobrych praktyk dających możliwość poprawy bezpieczeństwa transportu Polski. Opisana w artykule propozycja platformy, oprócz wyrównania doświadczeń i wiedzy w zakresie bezpieczeństwa transportu we wszystkich jego rodzajach, może być również narzędziem doskonalenia nowych operatorów transportu zbiorowego.

Organizator przewozów w regularnej komunikacji zbiorowej jest zobligowany spełnić kilka wymogów. Oprócz wymogów związanych z koniecznością uzyskania odpowiednich zezwoleń, musi on tak zorganizować transport, aby zapewnić podróżnym odpowiednie warunki bezpieczeństwa i higieny, wygody, należytej obsługi. Dodatkowo, przewoźnik musi podać do publicznej wiadomości (w sposób zwyczajowo przyjęty) rozkład jazdy danego środka transportu na konkretnie wyznaczonej linii. Ustalając rozkład jazdy powinien się sugerować nie tylko swoim zyskiem, ale również dobrem klienta. Artykuł przedstawia aktualnie stosowane praktyki kształtowania oferty w przewozach tramwajowych, w aglomeracji śląskiej.
The organizer of transport in regular public transport is obliged to meet certain demands. Apart from the requirements connected with the necessity to obtain the needed permissions, one needs to organise transport in such a way so that the passengers travel in safety and hygiene, in comfortable conditions and with qualified staff. Additionally, the carrier needs to provide a timetable of a given means of transport on a given tram line and present it in public place (where it is customarily presented). The timetable formation should take into account not only the profit of the line, but also the good of the customer. The article presents the currently applied practices of the formation of tram transport offer in Upper Silesia agglomeration.

Druga część artykułu jest poświęcona implementacji programowo-sprzętowej systemu monitorowania temperatury oraz wilgotności panującej na zewnątrz pojazdów. Rozwiązania aktualnie stosowane w pojazdach opierają pomiary wyłącznie na bieżącej wartości opisanych parametrów, najczęsciej tylko temperatury. Artykuł proponuje rozszerzenie pomiarów o wilgotność w ciągu sześciu godzin dla dokładniejszej prognozy i uwzględnienia szybkozmiennych warunków pogodowych.
The papers presents the hardware solution description and protocols used in automotive industry. Additionally, the paper proposes hardware-software model for black ice detection by external temperature and humidity level measurement. The solutions, used nowodays, are focusing mostly on current temperature reading. Paper proposes to extend the readings by humidity level. Moreover, the histories of features values are created within last 6 hours to define threats on road more precisely based on weather conditional variance.

During the transportation of goods, damage and destruction of the transported cargo constitute a very large part of the damage. The most common direct cause of damage is an improper arrangement and securing of the transported load. An improperly secured load may pose a threat to the transporters and bystanders. Incorrectly secured loads can fall from the vehicle, obstruct movement, and cause injury or death. In addition, improperly secured loads can cause injury or death in heavy braking or a collision. The way the load is distributed and secured on the vehicle can negatively affect driving behaviour, making it difficult to control the vehicle. This article presents the conditions related to the transport of loads in road transport, describes both the forces that act on the load during the journey of a vehicle and the most important techniques for securing loads in road transport.

Opis:
The seismic elastomeric bearings reinforced with fibre is considered as a new technology in comparison to other conventional isolator systems in civil engineering. In this type of bearing, recycled fibres replaced traditional steel plates used in common bearings. Therefore, this type of bearing has been studied in recent years due to both environmental and cost-saving advantages. The shortage of references about the application of this type of bearing in the bridge industry, and particularly the continuous-span bridges, prompted the researchers in this study to investigate the performance of the isolated reinforced concrete box girder bridges with continuous spans. Reducing the acceleration transmission from the substructure to the superstructure is one of the main advantages of using seismic bearings. Based on the study of the structural models, it was found that, in most cases, elastomeric bearings reinforced with fibres showed a suitable performance and reduced the acceleration applied to the superstructure by absorbing the earthquake energy.

The article presents the results of research among passengers using Polish airports in 2013 regarding safety issues. The main objective of the study was to prove the thesis that safety is not essential in the choice of air service. Based on the theoretical research, an overview of the issue of safety management is presented. Then, on the basis of the author’s own research, safety as a factor in the choice of air transport is postulated. For this purpose, the role of safety in relation to other factors affecting the choice of air services is shown. Thereafter, the profile of a passenger for whom the issue of safety is a factor encouraging their choice of air service is presented.

This article is dedicated to the art of improving safety in aviation in response to stress in the aviation sector, as well as the impact of stress on aviation and communications errors caused by ignorance of communication skills needed at the required level. The first part is dedicated to safety management systems, the second part is devoted to stress and the third part explores communication errors, which have resulted in aviation accidents. The paper concludes with a preview of a possible solutions known as “Virtual Airport”, which enables you to use simulator systems in order to increase the effectiveness level of training.

A sea voyage can be divided into three parts with varying degrees of risk: • from the berth at the port of departure to the pilot disembarkation point • from the pilot disembarkation to another pilot embarkation point near the port of call/destination • from the pilot embarkation point to the berth Results of statistical research into ship accidents at sea point to an increased number of incidents and accidents, including groundings, especially in restricted areas. Such areas are often narrow and have limited depths, while their short straight sections require frequent course alterations, often in varying hydrometeorological conditions. Due to all these factors, the voyage has to be carefully planned and all watchkeeping officers have to be well prepared to conduct the ship safely. The article presents the objectives, scope, legal basis and stages in the process of voyage planning. The compliance with the outlined principles will reduce the level of risk in maritime transport.

The article presents definitions of and approaches to the concept of safety in order to confirm the subjective character of its determination, description, and interpretation. By presenting examples of security statistics and safety-related behaviours, its ambiguity and complexity are revealed. The author draws attention to the media’s attitude towards safety-related incidents. With reference to contemporary scientific knowledge about the methods of improving safety in transportation organizations, the author also suggests that safety improvement initiatives should focus more strongly on facilitating closer cooperation between leaders, superiors and subordinates with different levels of experience.

Women, particularly in developing countries, rely heavily on public transport for their daily commute. This study explores the safety and security of women using ride-hailing services in Gauteng. Specifically, the study seeks to understand women’s experiences using ride-hailing services, which might influence their mobility. This study employed a constructivist research philosophy, utilizing qualitative, semi-structured interviews to explore the experiences of women who use ride-hailing services. The study findings reveal several disturbing incidents reported by female passengers using ride-hailing services; however, it is important to note that not all drivers exhibit inappropriate behaviour. Some drivers make inappropriate remarks, while others exhibit rude behaviour. The study found that some drivers use longer routes, leading to higher fares, which can be seen as exploitation. The study also reports some incidents where ride-hailing drivers almost kidnapped some female passengers, indicating a severe safety concern. The study contributes to the ongoing discourse on gender and transport studies, providing empirical evidence on the experiences of women using ride-hailing services in Gauteng, South Africa.

Opis:
Following the events related to the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, increasing air traffic also increases turnaround agents' activity at airports. Turnaround operations are among the critical activities performed at airports, which must be characterized by punctuality and accuracy of the elementary handling operations. Lack of punctuality in ground handling causes delays in air traffic. On the other hand, a lack of accuracy can also cause disruptions that can turn into aviation incidents. Achieving punctuality and accuracy in aircraft handling is possible by minimizing the resulting disruptions during such handling. The safety management system (SMS) assumes activities to reduce the causes of potential incidents. In the turnaround process, the human factor, the technical aspect, and compliance with existing procedures are significant. The authors have extensively analyzed the disruptions arising during ground handling, learning its causes and effects, which will help avoid adverse events. Occurring disruptions can cause delays in the execution of flight operations but can also cause aviation incidents. Therefore, the authors focused on ground-handling disruptions that can cause adverse aviation incidents. The article presents the interference analysis results as an Ishikawa diagram. Using the FRAM method, an analysis of possible disruptions during the baggage handling process was carried out.
