Opis:: W artykule zaprezentowano teoretyczne oraz empiryczne podejścia do analizy wpływu rozwoju infrastruktury transportu na wzrost gospodarczy. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono wybrany dorobek teoretyczny z zakresu poruszanej problematyki, w drugiej powołano się na empiryczne modele, zaadaptowane do zbadania zależności między rozwojem infrastruktury a wzrostem PKB oraz dokonano próby analizy tej zależności na przykładzie 16 województw Polski, uwzględniając lata 2008-2011.
The paper presents a theoretical and empirical approach on the impact of the development of transport infrastructure on economic growth. In the first part of the article presents the main views transport of economists on that matter. In the second part of this paper empirical models were adapted to examine this relationship between transport infrastructure and economic growth. Analysis on the example of the 16 provinces of Poland (taking into account the years 2008-2011) was conducted.

The expansion and maintenance of infrastructure has traditionally been attributed to the States. The systematic increase of the transport needs, however, requires further investment, causes the expand so-called infrastructural financing gap. So, the infrastructure has became the object of interest of investment funds, which are looking for a new targets. The infrastructure investments can take many forms, where the differentiating factors are: financial instruments (equity, debt), investment vehicles (listed, unlisted), investment routes (direct, indirect) as well as project stage, geographic location, revenue source or investment style / strategy. A special position on the market is occupied by the institutional investors, among which the most important are: investment funds, pension funds and insurance companies. These entities are investing in infrastructure directly or by creating infrastructural investment vehicles, like: close or open infrastructure funds, index or debt infrastructure funds, co-investing clubs, alliances or platforms. There is no doubt that the involvement of the infrastructure funds will increase in the future. So, the improvement of quality and quantity of infrastructure and related services should be noticed. At the same time, concentration of the decision-making centers in the framework of funds could lead also to reduction of the market competition.

Opis:: Funkcjonowanie transportu może pozytywnie wpływać na rozwój społeczno-gospodarczy kraju oraz regionów, zatem uzasadnione są nakłady ponoszone na jego rozwój. Skutki rozwoju transportu w regionie mogą mieć charakter bezpośredni (czas podróży, koszty i bezpieczeństwo) i pośredni (dostępność regionu, wielkość zatrudnienia, poziom efektywności procesów gospodarczych – transportowych i pozatransportowych), społeczna integracja, efekty środowiskowe. Pełni więc on bardzo ważne role społeczne, gdyż jest narzędziem pogłębiania integracji społecznej i warunkuje mobilność społeczną. Wsparciem w opracowywaniu w tworzeniu zrównoważonego systemu transportowego mogłyby być modele wpływu transportu na rozwój społeczno-gospodarczy regionów, które pozwalałyby ocenić efektywność proponowanych rozwiązań transportowych.
The article discusses the problem of the impact of transport, including passenger transport mainly for regional socio-economic development. The author attempted to take account of this effect in the form of the model. The character of this model is general in nature and reflects the fundamental relationship between transport and economic development. However, in the opinion of the author may be the basis for the development of more accurate models even perhaps in mathematical form.
