The purpose of this article is indication of the benefits of eco-efficiency use in production management. Article has a conceptual character and it is a point for further considerations and empirical studies.

    W artykule przeanalizowano cele logistyki produkcji, obszary działalności logistyki powiązane z produkcją, zidentyfikowano procesy logistyczne w produkcji. Wykazano, że czasy realizacji są indykatorem działalności logistycznej w produkcji. Omówiono koncepcję budowy strategii przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjnego zorientowanego na logistykę na podstawie koniecznej redukcji kompleksowości, „usieciowienia” struktur organizacyjnych, ustrukturyzowana sieć procesów logistycznych produkcji i jako alternatywy w formułowaniu strategii. Przeanalizowano implikacje tzw. trójkąta logistycznego dla formułowania strategii zarządzania produkcją. Artykuł zakończono wnioskami.
    In the article purposes of the production logistics were analyzed, areas of activity of the logistics connected with the production, logistic processes were identified in the production. They demonstrated, around times of courses are an indicator of logistic activity in the production. A concept was discussed of structure of the strategy of the manufacturing company orientated to the logistics based on the necessary reduction in the complexity, "networking" of organizational structures, structured to cut logistic processes of the production as the alternative in the strategy formulation. implications of the so-called logistic triangle were analyzed for the strategy formulation of the production management. The article was finished with conclusions.

    This paper presents selected quality tools that have been used to identify incompatibilities and their causes in the laser cutting process. As a result of the studies and analyzes, it was found that errors made by the TPM Maintenance Services, such as the failure of the laser to be included in the inspection and maintenance schedule and improperly scheduled employee training, led to the production of some 4500 non-compliant products per batch, representing about 30% products in each batch. The research has made it possible to identify the causes of nonconformity and to plan the correct actions to eliminate them.
    Artykuł przedstawia wybrane narzędzia jakości, które posłużyły do identyfikacji niezgodności i ich przyczyn w procesie cięcia laserowego. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań i analiz ustalono, że błędy popełnione przez służby Utrzymania Ruchu TPM, takie jak: nieuwzględnienie lasera w planie przeglądów i konserwacji maszyn oraz niewłaściwie zaplanowane szkolenia pracowników, doprowadziły do wyprodukowania około 4500 wyrobów niespełniających wymagań na partię, co stanowi około 30% niezgodnych wyrobów w każdej partii. Przeprowadzone badania umożliwiły określenie przyczyn nie-zgodności oraz zaplanowanie właściwych działań w celu ich eliminacji.

    Współczesne przedsiębiorstwa funkcjonują w warunkach bardzo silnej konkurencji i szybko dokonujących się, a przy tym często nieprzewidywalnych, zmian w otoczeniu. Muszą więc dysponować odpowiednim instrumentarium, które pozwoliłoby prawnie zarządzać. Potrzeba ta sprzyja z kolei rozwojowi różnorodnych koncepcji, metod czy technik organizacji i zarządzania. Problemem staje się pełna znajomość tych narzędzi, odpowiedni ich dobór, przygotowanie do wprowadzenia do praktyki, sprawne wdrożenie wykorzystywanie. Trudność z doborem będących w dyspozycji koncepcji czy metod wynika z faktu, iż są one wykorzystywane w różnych obszarach funkcjonowania przesiębiorstwa. Szczególnie szeroki zestaw metod mamy do dyspozycji w przypadku urządzania produkcją czy logistyką. Dlatego też właśnie tym problemom poświęcono w artykul najwięcej uwagi.
    Contemporary enterprises operate in very strong competitive conditions and in rapidly taking place unpredictable changes in the nvironment. And therefore they need the appropriate instrumentation which would enable efficient management. The need in turn encourages the development of various concepts, methods or techniques of organization and management. The problem is complete knowledge of these tools, their proper selection, preparation for practice, effective implementation and exploitation. The difficulty with the selection of the available concepts or methods derives from the fact that they are used in different business areas of the enterprise. Especially, a broad set of methods we have available for production management and logistics. Therefore, these problems are discussed iv in the article.

    The paper contains proposals of improvement concerning implementation of the 5S method. For that purpose there were used some selected techniques of manufacturing management: team work as well as the cause and effect Ishikawa diagram. The analysis of a pilot implementation was done in one of companies located in south–east Poland by a team which consisted of workers involved in that implementation and external experts. The results of analysis were used for the improvement of approach to implementation of the 5S method in the company. Presented methodology as well as obtained results can assist in implementation of the method in other companies.

    Artykuł przedstawia opis dwóch metodologii doboru miar w celu stworzenia systemu raportowania kluczowych wskaźników efektywności w przedsiębiorstwie. Opisane zostały etapy wdrażania KPI po wcześniejszym ich scharakteryzowaniu i określeniu w jakich obszarach powinny zostać opracowane. Wskazano związek wskaźników z krytycznymi czynnikami sukcesu oraz realizowaną strategią organizacji.
    The article presents a description of two methodologies for the selection of measures in order to create a system for reporting key performance indicators in the enterprise. The stages of implementing KPIs have been described after having characterized them in advance and in which areas they should be developed. Indicates the reference of indicators with critical success factors and the implemented strategy of the organization.

    The article presents a case study for a production plant in which the level of efficiency was increased in 2008-2014. An analysis was made of the areas in which operational and strategic actions were taken to increase production volumes and use of machines as well as to reduce fuel and energy consumption.

    Purpose: The goal of the paper is to analyses process of implementation and effectiveness of 5S method in an industrial enterprise. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis, questionnaire analysis, case study analysis. Findings: On the example of industrial organization that was in the presented paper an analysis of effectiveness of 5S implementation. On the basis of conducted analysis the main objectives of using 5S are: order in the workplace, maintenance of cleanliness and efficiency of machines and devices, shorter duration of activities. The main causes of problems with 5S implementation are connected with no time to do the work and lack of funds. The overall rating of efficiency of 5S method in analyzed enterprise is very good. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of main objectives of using 5S method and the main causes of problems with it in the industrial enterprise.

    The publication presents issues concerning the analysis of welding incompatibilities and techniques enabling their detection. The aim of the publication is the analysis of detection techniques from the point of view of their impact on product quality. Each of the non-compliant detection methods described in the publication has both advantages and limitations related to the use.

    Współczesne przedsiębiorstwa coraz częściej wykorzystują różnorodne systemy oraz technologie informatyczne, aby sprawniej realizować cele firmy i optymalizować prowadzoną działalność gospodarczą. Szczególną uwagę w artykule zwrócono na wykorzystanie narzędzi klasy ERP, do skutecznego wspomagania zarządzania systemem produkcyjnym. Jest to narzędzie integrujące wszystkie procesy zachodzące w organizacji, poprzez stworzenie jednej bazy danych, na podstawie której odbywa się efektywne planowanie zarządzania całością zasobów przedsiębiorstwa, w zakresie m. in. takich obszarów jak magazynowanie, zarządzanie zapasami, śledzenie realizowanych dostaw, planowanie produkcji, zaopatrzenie, sprzedaż, zarządzanie relacjami z klientami, księgowość, finanse, zarządzanie zasobami ludzkimi (płace, kadry). Celem artykułu było zebranie i dokonanie klasyfikacji różnych strategii działań w zakresie wdrożeń systemów klasy ERP jako elementów wspomagających systemy produkcyjne w dalszym rozwoju.
    Today's companies increasingly use a variety of systems and information technologies to make a better use of the firm capabilities and to optimize the business. The paper pays a special attention to the use of ERP tools as an effective support to the management of the production system. ERP is a tool that integrates all the processes in the organization by creating one general database. Basing on the database the efficient planning of the entire management of the company takes place. There are several firm resources which are being considered such as storage, inventory management, deliveries tracking, production planning, provision, sales, finance and accounting, customer relationship and human resources management. The article also presents various strategies for ERP implementation.

    Opis:
    Purpose: The EU’s guidelines exert an important influence on companies aiming to accelerate the implementation of green measures and minimise their negative environmental impacts. The objective of this paper is to define the key categories of green organisations and green competences whose development can accelerate the implementation of green processes in companies. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the literature review, a semi-structured qualitative research questionnaire was developed and a pilot study was conducted on four large manufacturing companies. Findings: A list of categories of activities linked to green organisations was developed and key components of green competences were defined. It was shown that performance-related managerial competences are the most important components of green competences for the companies. It was also pointed out that the categories that are the components of green 19 organisations are important and that the degree to which they are met has been increasing over time in recent years. Research limitations/implications: The pilot study was conducted with middle and senior 22 level representatives of four manufacturing companies. Its conclusions will be used to continue the research with a larger sample. Practical implications: The results of the study will allow companies to better adapt to the challenges of sustainability and green organisations. Key green competences and an emphasis on their development in the companies will allow more green organisation areas to be achieved more quickly. Social implications: The development of green organisations has a direct influence on minimising the negative environmental impacts and thereby improving the quality of life for everyone in society. Originality/value: Based on the analysis of the literature, it can be stated that there is no clear definition of green organisations while the variety of measures and their nomenclature in the area of sustainability is extensive. Research in that area contributes to the development of the science of management and quality and represents an important new field of research. This paper is meant for researchers and practitioners as well as HR representatives who work with the issue of green competences and green organisations.

    Silna konkurencja, rosnące wymagania klientów oraz częste zawieranie aliansów i porozumień przedsiębiorstw doprowadziły do dynamicznego rozwoju produkcji na zamówienie. Jest to specyficzny sektor przedsiębiorstw produkcyjnych, które muszą charakteryzować się dużo większą elastycznością. W artykule proponuje się wprowadzenie koncepcji strategicznego zarządzania wynikami do procesu planowania i weryfikacji zleceń produkcyjnych w przedsiębiorstwach realizujących produkcję na zamówienie. W tym celu proponowane jest wykorzystanie kluczowych wskaźników efektywności, które pozwalają na szybką realizację celów strategicznych. Dzięki zastosowaniu tego rozwiązania przedsiębiorstwa uzyskują dużo wyższą elastyczność, umożliwiającą im budowanie przewagi konkurencyjnej na rynku oraz dużo efektywniejsze osiąganie planowanych wyników.
    Strong competition, growing customer requirements and frequent alliances and agreements of companies have led to a dynamic development of the make-to-order manufacturing. This is a specific sector of production companies which need to be much more flexible. The article proposes to introduce the concept of the Strategic Performance Management into the process of production order planning and verification in make-to-order enterprises (MTO). For this purpose, it is proposed the use of key performance indicators that allow a rapid realization of strategic objectives. This solution causes a much higher flexibility, which help them to build competitive advantage in the market and to achieve planned results more effective.

Design/methodology/approach: the process of preparing SM (smart manufacturing) projects and their implementation, in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, have been changed, due to the importance of the issue of linking more and more intelligent machines, IT-computer programs and monitored processes into integrated technological systems of key importance for the construction of cyber-physical production systems (CPS). The paper applies a conceptual analysis of possible areas of change in project management (PM) when enterprises build the smart manufacturing (SM). Findings/conclusions: companies building the smart environment must adapt their organization of project management to the new requirements and opportunities of Industry 4.0 (I 4.0) technologies. Research limitations: the narrow scope of knowledge about the ongoing changesin SM project management is due to the short period of experience (the Industry 4.0 concept has been implemented since 2011), therefore the authors have only presented the framework of changes in organization of project management. Practical implications: the authors' intention was to initiate a practical discussion about the changes in project management in the ongoing industrial revolution. Originality/value: Since 2011, when the government of the Federal Republic of Germany recognized the concept of "Industrie 4.0" as the key strategy of innovative development, Industry 4.0 has become an important discussed topic among practitioners and researchers. The fourth industrial revolution is expected to result in a leap in the efficiency of companies operating in the intelligent technological environment. Key technologies or pillars of Industry 4.0 are implemented in manufacturing enterprises to build the smart manufacturing processes. Enterprises develop new projects and make investments in order to create Cyber-Physical Production Systems (CPPS).
