    Celem artykułu jest analiza i ocena wpływu outsourcingu logistycznego na proces doskonalenia efektywności współczesnych przedsiębiorstw na podstawie wybranych produkcyjnych, handlowych i usługowych firm. W pierwszej części scharakteryzowano outsourcing logistyczny oraz opisano paradygmat efektywności w zakresie systemu logistycznego przedsiębiorstwa. W drugiej części zaprezentowano metodykę badań i dokonano skrótowej charakterystyki badanej populacji. Podjęto próbę analizy i oceny wpływu outsourcingu logistycznego na proces doskonalenia efektywności badanych przedsiębiorstw.
    The aim of the article is to analyse and evaluate the influence of logistics outsourcing on the process of improving the effectiveness of contemporary enterprises on the basis of the selected manufacturing, trade and service companies. The first part characterizes outsourcing of logistics processes and describes the paradigm of effectiveness in terms of the logistics system of an enterprise. The second part presents methodology of the research and a brief characteristic of the examined population. An attempt to analyse and evaluate the influence of logistics outsourcing on the process of improving the effectiveness of the surveyed enterprises has been made.

Wskazano na kierunki i formy rozwoju współpracy sfery nauki, badań oraz biznesu, wspierane przez krajowe i regionalne strategie innowacji.
    In the article issues of conditioning of the cooperation of enterprises being aimed at raising their innovative capacity as well as the improvement in the level of competitivenesses were presented. The attention was paid to chosen external and internal conditioning of the cooperation of manufacturing companies and scientifically – developmental individuals. It is pointed at directions and forms of the development of cooperation of the sphere of the science, of research and the business sector supported by domestic and regional innovation strategies.

    The paper presents a set of criteria for evaluating a mining enterprise according to the principles sustainable development. In addition, the method is presented with which you can create a linear ranking of companies. They also an analysis of activities of the company the context of sustainable development.

    Purpose: The main purpose of the article is to present, based on the literature on the subject, the essence of the innovative potential and innovative activity of a company as generators of innovative processes. Design/methodology/approach: The study used the methodology developed by Eurostat and OECD, as presented in the Oslo Manual. Findings: The empirical part presents, using statistical data, the innovative activity of Polish industrial enterprises in the years 2017-2019. Originality/value: The survey of industrial and service enterprises was conducted between 2017 and 2019, and its results were published in 2020. The results of the study can be used in strategic decisions of enterprises in the field of innovative activities of Polish industrial enterprises.

    Problemy współczesnego zarządzania obejmują zjawiska na wielu poziomach analizy. W zarządzaniu strategicznym eksplorowane są różne podejścia badawcze: od uznawanych za klasyczne, jak planowanie długookresowe, po te współcześnie intensywnie poddawane eksploracji naukowej jak: podejście zasobowe czy zdolności dynamiczne. W centrum uwagi są relacje między organizacją i otoczeniem, a sposób ich postrzegania i wyjaśniania determinuje generalizację i implikacje praktyczne. Autor podjął się próby operacjonalizacji zdolności dynamicznych przedsiębiorstw w ujęciu ewolucyjnym. Stąd rozważania dotyczą procesu budowy nowej organizacji przedsiębiorstwa, znaczenie rutyn organizacyjnych, kompetencji interpersonalnych menedżerów.
    The problems of modern management include phenomena at many levels of analysis. In strategic management, various research approaches are explored: from those considered classical, such as long-term planning, to those currently intensely subjected to scientific exploration as a resource approach or dynamic capacity. The focus is on the relationship between the organization and the environment, and the way they are perceived and explained determines generalization and practical implications. The author undertook attempts to operationalize the dynamic capabilities of enterprises in an evolutionary approach. Therefore, the considerations concern the process of building a new organization of an enterprise, the importance of organizational routines, interpersonal competences of managers.

    Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to assess the innovation activities of companies in the EU countries, taking into consideration the external factors. Design/methodology/approach: This article focuses on the analysis of the most frequently used factors determining the external conditions of the companies innovation activities with the use of taxonomic analysis. The research was conducted on the annual data for years 2017-2019 for the selected European countries. The data from the databases of OECD and Eurostat were used in the analysis. Findings: The results of the conducted analysis allow to conclude that the state and organisation of innovation activities in the economy and thus, in the companies is strongly dependent on external factors. The averages and quartiles were calculated to show the dynamics of the factors. Moreover, Ward dendrogram was presented to show the similarities and differences in shaping the innovation activities. The synthetic indicator was used to determine the development path and the map of objects was drawn. There is a strict connection between the amount of expenditures on R&D and the employees’ education concerning the implementation of the innovation activities in all analysed countries. In particular, it is visible in the Scandinavian countries and in Luxembourg. In Poland the innovation activities of companies is similar to the ones in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The low level of GERD causes that many companies have financial problems and despite high dynamics of industrial production, the innovativeness is still at a low level. Research limitations/implications: The comparison of Poland with other countries would surely give a wider picture whether the innovation processes are performed in an efficient way. The accessibility of data, for each country, used in the research not only limited the period of analysis but also determined the selection of variables. The analysis was based on the data from the mentioned databases to make it more reliable. Practical implications: The information obtained during the conducted analysis may facilitate the process of proper decision making referring to the management of innovations. The implementation of innovations guarantees not only the company development but also greater transparency in the information and knowledge flow among the workers. Originality/value: The analysis of external factors of the innovation activities is really important as the investments in innovation activities are the more and more important GDP part and the numerical taxonomy methods enable to indicate, indirectly, these countries which should be models for Poland so that it could organise and manage the innovation processes. The analysis of innovation activities makes it possible to indicate desired directions of changes in the management of Polish companies. Thus, it is a basis to take decisions in the competitive markets.

    Wyodrębnienie ekonomiki górnictwa jako jednej z ekonomik branżowych w ramach nauk ekonomicznych ma szerokie uzasadnienie praktyczne, a przede wszystkim jest podyktowane specyfiką produkcji górniczej, której prowadzenie uzależnione jest od dysponowania zasobami naturalnymi oraz od natężenia zagrożeń naturalnych towarzyszących tej produkcji. Zaadaptowanie rozwiązań ekonomiczno-finansowych w górnictwie węgla kamiennego wymaga zatem połączenia wiedzy z zakresu ekonomii, finansów i rachunkowości oraz górnictwa i geologii inżynierskiej. Od wielu lat efekty synergii towarzyszące temu interdyscyplinarnemu połączeniu realizowane są w ramach badań prowadzonych w Instytucie Ekonomii i Informatyki na Wydziale Organizacji i Zarządzania Politechniki Śląskiej. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest inwentaryzacja i charakterystyka dotychczasowych efektów badań prowadzonych w ramach ekonomiki górnictwa w Instytucie Ekonomii i Informatyki w zakresie zarządzania kosztami zorientowana na wskazanie wciąż istniejących luk badawczych wymagających uzupełnienia w przyszłości.
    Separating mining economics as one of industry economics within the economic sciences is not only practical - it is also dictated by the specific character of mining production which depends on natural resources and on the intensity of natural hazards that are characteristic for this production. Adapting economic and financial solutions for the purpose of hard coal mining requires, therefore, linking the knowledge in the fields of economy, finances and accounting with the knowledge about mining and engineering geology. For many years, the results of synergy that accompany that interdisciplinary union have been implemented within the research conducted at the Institute of Economy and Informatics at the Faculty of Organization and Management of Silesian University of Technology. The aim of this paper is to survey and to characterize the current results of research carried out in the scope of mining economics at the Institute of Economy and Informatics in the field of cost management, that aims to identify research gaps that would have to be filled in in the future.
