This article seeks to present possibilities for the development of a country with the use of modern research tools. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the importance of foresight in guiding innovation, which fosters entrepreneurship as well as improves the quality of life of the society. Therefore, the study put forward the hypothesis that the use of foresight as an instrument creating strategic knowledge allows for a more effective identification of significant areas as potentials for the security of the country's development. The analysis presented in this article contains data from the last eight years. The results of the studies show that in Poland there is a significant potential, which, if managed appropriately, might influence the development of enterprises, municipalities and the macro-region.

Celem badań była identyfikacja zbioru kryteriów szczegółowych i głównych przy ocenie i wyborze zrównoważonego dostawcy oraz uszeregowanie ich według malejącej ważności w ocenie takiego dostawcy. Ważność poszczególnych kryteriów wyznaczono, korzystając z metody AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). Badania przeprowadzono wśród ekspertów z międzynarodowego przedsiębiorstwa branży automatyki przemysłowej.
The aim of the study was to identify a set of sustainable suppliers criteria and ranking them in order of decreasing importance in the supplier assessment. The validity of each criterion was determined using the method of AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). The study was conducted among experts from the international industrial automation company.

The aim of the article is to identify the relationship between innovative processes and various stages of the economy in the light of a critical analysis of the literature on the subject. The implementation of the objective was based on the submission that modern management should be oriented towards innovation, as these give the company the chance of dynamic development. The article emphasizes the importance of innovation processes in the modern market economy. Innovative processes can be considered from different points of view, including the stages of economic development, enterprise or a single innovation. They consist of stages arranged chronologically and interrelated with different interactions.
Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja związku procesów innowacyjnych z różnymi stadiami gospodarki w świetle krytycznej analizy literatury przedmiotu. Realizację celu oparto na złożeniu, że współczesne zarządzanie powinno być zorientowane na innowacje, gdyż te dają przedsiębiorstwu szanse dynamicznego rozwoju. W artykule zwraca się uwagę na istotne znaczenie procesów innowacji we współczesnej gospodarce rynkowej. Procesy innowacyjne można rozpatrywać z różnych punktów widzenia, między innymi: stadiów rozwoju gospodarki, przedsiębiorstwa, czy też pojedynczej innowacji. Składają się one z etapów uporządkowanych chronologicznie i powiązanych ze sobą różnymi interakcjami

Purpose: The goal of the article was to try to reflect on the entrepreneurial process of discovery and its influence on sustainable regional development. Design/methodology/approach: In the article, a method of literature review was used. Findings: The article presents the theoretical analysis of the concept of smart specialisation and the entrepreneurial discovery process. Purpose: The military, like other public and business sector organisations, is subject to continuous personnel improvement, especially in the areas of technology and engineering. The aim of the article is to present the specifics of the technical training process in the army and the possibilities of its improvement based on the analysis of soldiers' needs. Design/methodology/approach: The article presents the link between the process of technical training in the army and the implementation of strategic, operational and tactical objectives and then identifies areas for improvement from the perspective of the direct recipient, which is the user of military equipment. Findings: Based on the barriers to the acquisition of technical knowledge identified in the study, an assessment of the methods and tools supporting technical training, and the expected methodology for conducting them, it was determined that the standard of technical training in the army should be enriched with a training closure stage that takes into account changes in the military unit caused by the purchase of new equipment. Originality/value: The utilitarianism of the study stems from the possibility of its use by the military to determine the way in which military equipment suppliers train their personnel (users, service personnel). As a whole, the material can be an important contribution to the development of a standard of technical training requirements for suppliers of security and defence equipment.

Opis:
Purpose: the main purpose of this paper is to define the scope in which the entrepreneurial discovery process for smart specialization affects the technological development of the region. Design/methodology/approach: Based on theoretical analysis of the concept of smart specialization and entrepreneurial discovery process (EDP), set of research tools and methods has been proposed, including broad participation and interaction between EDP participants. The research tool – questionnaire for studying the needs of entrepreneurs in the direction of technological development of the Silesian Voivodeship consisted of four thematic blocks, including such aspects, as: innovative activity, financial aspects and the effectiveness of obtaining funds, cooperation and development strategy. A representative group of 300 companies was selected to participate in the survey. The responses obtained were processed and generalized using statistical methods – with use of MS Excel and Statistica software. The results of the research, conducted in 2017-2019, were used as a tool to identify areas of technological and cooperation advantage in the Silesian Voivodeship and recommendations for the update of Regional Technological Program for the 2030 perspective. Findings: The role of different groups of actors is varies substantially in terms of their involvement and impact, with the stakeholders from business and research are the main group to be targeted in the entrepreneurial discovery process. Research limitations/implications: The results provide a basis to improve the effectiveness of regional development planning, especially solutions for SME involvement and cooperation. The results confirm, that a detailed study of entrepreneurs' needs should be included as the main instrument for the implementation and for gaining reliable information on the effectiveness of implemented solutions in the field of innovation support. Limitations of the study include the subjectivity of respondents' opinions and the relatively small research sample, which may limit the generalization of the results. Practical implications: The results of the survey indicate the existence in Silesian region of the distance between entrepreneurs and scientists (thinkers and doers), which may result in lessening of effectiveness and willingness of cooperation, without preventive measures on a regional scale. The results also confirmed, the existence of financial barriers for innovativeness activities, especially impeded access to external capital, translating into lost benefits. Originality/value: The contribution of the research to the development of innovation management process in the region, which is based on a broad process of collaboration with different stakeholder groups. The results provide a contribution to the operationalization of the entrepreneurial discovery process.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to show the importance of measuring the effects of the execution of personnel processes within the framework of personnel function management in manufacturing enterprises. Design/methodology/approach: The development of the article required a critical analysis of the literature on the subject. A literature study of scientific publications, a survey, and face-to 16 face interviews were performed. Findings: Thanks to the realization of the survey it was found that, despite such high awareness of the importance and effectiveness of the use of KPIs, only less than 28% of the respondents declared the use of HR function measurements in a systematic way, and only 53% use only a few indicators, in an active way and not fully coordinated. Research limitations/implications: Future directions of activities will concern the realization of research in another research group (increased number of analyzed production and service enterprises) from the area of the southern part of Poland and the comparative analysis of obtained results. The limitation of the research may be the unwillingness of enterprises to cooperate. Practical implications: The results of the study indicate the possibility and at the same time recommend the implementation of KPIs for monitoring the effectiveness of development processes in enterprises. The obtained results will contribute to the implication of more KPIs and thus increase the level of effective management. Originality/value: Filling the research gap in the field of measuring the effects of personnel function with the use of selected KPIs. The study is addressed to the management staff of enterprises.

The study presents the evolution of process organization and process management, as well as the process approach, along with classic, contemporary and modern management concepts that build the value of a global enterprise. The present paper introduces to the reader aspects of contemporary global economy, modern technologies and information technologies in particular, and customer demands, which in the 21st century necessitate changes in management. Based on the collected statistical data, observations and literature, we formulated conclusions concerning the application of process management to the creation of value in global enterprise, including its sustainability. The advantages and disadvantages of this organizational form are also outlined. The aim of the present study is to introduce to the reader, the importance of various methods and forms of management, and process management in particular, for building the value of a global enterprise.

Purpose: The aim of the study is to present selected elements of management, vital for the future development (change trends) of enterprises, with respect to the global environment, process management and ecology. Design/methodology/approach: Statistical data analysed, surveys and research literature. Findings: There are some change trends in the management of enterprises of the future, modern technologies and good management of innovations that will be of importance here, as well as the growing significance of ecology and sustainable development, together with waste recycling and searching for alternative and new energy sources. Process management, in contrast, may be on a similar level of assessment in the future as it is at present. Research limitations/implications: Survey small research, unrepresentative of the SME sector in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Pilot case studies. Practical implications: For the good development of enterprises of the future, innovations in a new perspective are of great significance. The development of networks of all kinds will also have a large impact on management in the global future with the use of digital platforms, but already global according to the fourth industrial revolution. Nevertheless, when selecting technologies, forms, concepts, methods and management techniques, all their advantages and disadvantages must be considered. Social implications: Although the ecological approach is not the most crucial for the management and employees of companies, it is nonetheless growing according to evaluations. Ecology and innovation in governance must be taken into account for the benefit of societies. Originality/value: Own small survey research, pilot studies and own analysed references. On the basis of the analysed economic and social statistics, own observation and research, there are selected aspects of the development enterprise, modern methods of management and in the global environment, having regard to the ecology and risk. Herein are conclusions on the development of changes in organisations and the development of the management process.

Purpose: The aim of the study is to present a changing global environment for businesses, to use modern elements of management, IT and telecommunications as necessary elements in the face of the pandemic and global crisis, to sustain the functioning of businesses, organisations, economies and states. Design/methodology/approach: On the basis of the collected statistical data, own research and surveys, observations and literature, conclusions have been drawn concerning trends of changes in the organisation and the application of modern management concepts and forms of management. The study presents the functioning of enterprises taking into account their further environment, especially economic and social, against the background of the current problems of the EU and the world economy. The study also presents the problems of modern global economy, pandemic and sustainable development. Findings: Study presents selected elements of governance and trends of change in the organisation. What matters most for companies is marketing, finance, profit, strategies, personnel, innovation, modern methods and forms of organisation, etc. However, elements of IT and modern management methods already have an important and growing position, especially in the face of the pandemic, remote work and the global crisis. Technological and macro-economic changes, new methods of management, shrinking natural resources in the world at the turn of the 20th and 21st century, looking for substitutes, all these set out the directions for the development of companies. In addition, socio-political and epidemiological changes, computerisation and automation, cause changes in the functioning of enterprises, both large and small.

Sustainable development, in all of its aspects, is possible to be achieved only thanks to properly planned and effectively implemented formal, informal and non-formal education. In this context, what teachers know about sustainable development, to what extend they know its assumptions and demands, and how they implement these assumptions in their everyday school practice is extremely important. I will present the results of research concerning teachers' knowledge regarding education for sustainable development, the didactic methods and forms which they apply while implementing the didactic process for sustainable development.
