Opis:
Purpose: The article aims to formulate basic assumptions defining the resilience of complex systems falling within social logistics' scope of interest. The article emphasizes the importance of general systems theory for the contemporary understanding of management sciences, with particular emphasis on logistics. The authors of the article have also characterized, based on the current state of literature, the concept of social logistics as one of the three "clean" types of logistics, positioning it alongside military and economic logistics Design/methodology/approach: The article presents an overview of approaches to the crystallizing issue of social logistics in literature. The analyzed object of research was referred to the general theory of systems and conclusions were drawn in the form of proposals to shape the social logistics system. In addition, the authors presented an original proposal for the composition of the social logistics system based on observation of the activities of social entities and in-depth analysis of Polish and foreign literature. Findings: Then it was proposed to consolidate the term 'social logistics system resilience' and to conduct empirical research along with an outline of the research procedure. The proposed research procedure will be used and the results of research conducted in accordance with it – described in subsequent articles of the authors. Social implications: In the article, it was concluded that the subject of the study is relatively broad, and the link between the topic of social logistics and supply chain resilience is a research gap that will be filled by series of articles, the starting link of which is this one. The analyzes contained in the article refer to a large extent to the problems of comfort in social life, with particular emphasis on human needs of a social nature. Originality/value The originality of the article express in compiling the issues of social logistics with issues of systems’ resilience. In the face of the constantly observed negative phenomena disrupting the functioning of social logistics systems, the topic of their resilience is of particular importance.

Opis:
Purpose: Corporate Social Responsibility should have its origin in law enforcement and consist in the implementation of additional, voluntary practices, reaching further than statutory obligations. These practices should be permanent, strategic, long-term, they are to support the development of enterprises in different areas of operation. The objective of this article is an attempt to present the results of the research into practices of corporate social responsibility in management processes of contemporary enterprises located in southern Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship. Design/methodology/approach: The empirical research was conducted on the basis of anonymous data obtained from the surveys. The target group of the surveyed enterprises was the entities established in the area of southern Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship. Findings: The surveyed enterprises seem to partially take into account corporate social responsibility as the concept of management of business entities, according to which enterprises conduct business activities taking into account not only own profits but also social and environmental interests in their surrounding. The idea and the principles of corporate social responsibility, at the level of the surveyed companies forming logistic structures, while constituting the link of the supply chain, marginally related to raising the awareness of their operations, both leading to the maintenance of relationships with business partners and the actions oriented towards the inside of the organization. Originality/value: This paper provides research results on CSR practices in enterprises of southern Poland, taking into account logistics area and analysis of selected correlations.

Opis:
Purpose: The aim of this paper is to present a new model for risk assessment of unfavorable interorganizational relationships, among other things, in ventures classified as corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects. Design/methodology/approach: Scenario analysis, brainstorm sessions, literature study and own observations of interorganizational projects were used to develop a list of unwanted events and factors determining their occurrence. In the proposed risk assessment model, fault tree analysis and fuzzy logic were applied for qualitative and quantitative risk analysis. Thanks to applying the elements of fuzzy sets theory, it was possible to decrease the uncertainty and lack of precision in obtaining crisp values of the basic events’ probability. Findings: In this work 13 basic events and 41 risk factors determining occurrence of unfavorable interorganizational relationships in ventures were identified and described. The proposed model enabled to carry out qualitative and quantitative risk assessment of unfavorable interorganizational relationships projects. Its practical application was shown in an example of interorganizational CSR project concerning the organization of a mass event, considering its logistics aspects. Research limitations/implications: It is necessary to involve experts in risk assessment. This could be overcome by applying machine learning in future research. Practical implications: The application of the proposed model allows to effectively identify the critical risks, which should be of particular attention during the risk treatment stage. It aims to give a helping hand to all managers and practitioners who want to deliver attainable and successful interorganizational projects, supporting meeting the expectation of the engaged stakeholders. Social implications: Socially responsible activities contribute to solving and counteracting social problems. Originality/value: A novel risk assessment model of unfavorable interorganizational relationships in which 13 basic events and 41 risk determinants were considered. The model was presented at ventures classified as Corporate Social Responsibility projects.
