    Kopalnie węgla kamiennego, funkcjonujące w strukturach przedsiębiorstw górniczych, charakteryzują się pewną specyfiką. Nie można zastosować w ich przypadku tradycyjnej procedury audytu, stosowanej w innych podmiotach gospodarczych. Celem artykułu jest opracowanie kompleksowej metody audytu kopalni węgla kamiennego, uwzględniającej audyt zasobów kopalni, zagrożeń naturalnych, na jakie jest narażona i procesów w niej realizowanych oraz audyt jej otoczenia.
    Hard coal mines functioning within the structures of mining enterprises are characterized by particular specificity. A traditional audit procedure cannot be used for them, which is applied for other economic subjects. The purpose of the article is to develop a complex audit method of hard coal mine that involves the audit of mine resources, natural hazards that it is prone to, internal processes conducted as well as the audit of its environment.

    Opis:
    Purpose: The main aim of the research presented in this article was identification and categorization of the main production waste generated in the textile and clothing industry and their impact on the environment in the context of sustainable development, together with the presentation of several proposals for solutions to the problem of production waste. Nowadays, through the newly emerging EU directives, the increasing population and consumer lifestyle, thus the huge amounts of generated waste, the problem of waste coming from textile and clothing industry will increase and it will be more important to find new solutions to it. Design/methodology/approach: In the research presented in this article, an analysis of the literature on the processes of the textile and clothing industry was used; waste generation from these industries and their impact on the environment along with the concept of sustainable development. Findings: The management of waste from the textile and clothing industry is an important factor influencing the sustainable development of the economy, both in the world and in Poland. Under the newly created EU directives, it will be a very important issue in the future, which will require urgent addressing this topic and finding optimal solutions in the context of sustainable development or the circular economy. Research limitations/implications: In the future, research will be continued in the field of production waste management in the textile and clothing industry, their disposal or recycling. Practical implications: This article provides an overview of quantitative research and diversity of waste from the textile and clothing industry in Poland and in the world. This review shows the importance and scale of the problem and allows for further continuation of research to manage the generated waste. The author has also collected concepts for the further management of post-production waste, which she presented in the article, but they require a broader and more detailed analysis. Originality/value: Based on empirical research, the article shows the scale of the problem that, through the new EU directives on the circular economy and sustainable development, will be a forward-looking and important issue. Additionally, the article presents concepts for waste management from the industrial and consumer perspective.

    Wdrożenie koncepcji społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu stało się zjawiskiem powszechnym w wielu branżach, w tym także w przedsiębiorstwach sektora chemicznego, których funkcjonowanie wiąże się z dużym obciążeniem, a czasami wręcz zagrożeniem dla środowiska. Wiele firm podejmuje działania mające na celu minimalizowanie uciążliwego wpływu na środowisko, jednak ich efekty nie są satysfakcjonujące. Celem artykułu było omówienie działań wybranych firm z sektora chemicznego, realizowanych w ramach koncepcji społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu, w kontekście wpływu tego typu przedsiębiorstw na stan środowiska.
    The implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility has became a common phenomenon in many sectors, including the chemical industry, which activity is also associated with very harmful effects on the environment. Many companies try to minimize damaging impact on the environment, but their results are not satisfied. The aim of the study was to describe the activities carried out by selected companies of chemical industry in the framework of CSR in the context of their impact on the environment.

    Purpose: The aim of the paper is to analyze the role of the engineer in the process of implementing sustainable development principles in the industrial enterprise. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Analysis of international literature from main databases and polish literature and legal acts connecting with researched topic. Findings: The analyses presented in the publication have drawn attention to the issue of the engineer's role in the implementation of the principles of sustainable development by an industrial enterprise. Particularly now, during the implementation of Industry 4.0, engineers should pay attention to the implementation of sustainable development principles in industry. These issues are also important as a result of the energy transition implemented in EU countries, which requires organizations to reduce their energy intensity, thus promoting sustainable development. The implementation of Smart City technologies also means that sustainability issues must be taken into account in engineering city planning. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of all subjects related to the role of engineers in the sustainable development principles implementation.

    This paper focuses on issues of CSR in the context of the extractives industry. Due to the specific characteristic of the industry and the magnitude of its influence on the natural environment and society, the CSR assumptions, tools, and management methods must be reorganized and adapted. Author firstly shows some theoretical considerations about the role of the CSR in the industry, possible areas of prevalence, tools, possible method of management, some opportunities and threats. Then, in the second part of the article, author will show some best CSR practices form the extractives industry.
    Artykuł koncentruje się wokół kwestii społecznej odpowiedzialności przedsiębiorstw w kontekście branży wydobywczej. Ze względu na jej specyficzną charakterystykę i wielkość wpływu na środowisko naturalne oraz społeczeństwo, założenia, narzędzia i metody zarządzania CSR muszą zostać zreorganizowane i dostosowane. Autor najpierw przedstawia teoretyczne rozważania na temat roli CSR w branży wydobywczej, możliwe obszary występowania, narzędzia, sposoby zarządzania, szanse oraz zagrożenia, a następnie wskazuje kilka dobrych praktyk CSR z obszaru tej branży.

    Dążenie miast do rozwoju funkcji metropolitalnych oznacza dzisiaj przede wszystkim dążenie do inteligentnego rozwoju tych specjalizacji i funkcji, które stanowią o ich przewadze konkurencyjnej i czynią miasto bardziej atrakcyjnym tak dla inwestorów, jak i pozostałych użytkowników jego przestrzeni. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie szans rozwoju miast przynależnych do nowo utworzonej Metropolii oraz pokazanie przykładów wykorzystania wspólnego potencjału społeczno-kulturowego, służącego kreowaniu nowej marki – Metropolia „Silesia”. Wykorzystane metody badawcze odwołują się do nurtu badań jakościowych w socjologii miasta, do których zalicza się obserwacja, opis, analiza treści. Każde z miast w zależności od swojego charakteru wybiera różne drogi rozwoju, stawiając na ten potencjał, który stanowi największą wartość i bogactwo danego regionu. W przypadku miast należących do Metropolii „Silesia” taki potencjał stanowi niewątpliwie dziedzictwo kulturowe regionu. W artykule został zatem przedstawiony przebieg procesów metropolizacyjnych zachodzących na obszarze konurbacji górnośląskiej.
    Urban aspirations for the development of metropolitan functions today mean primarily the pursuit of intelligent development of those specialties and functions that are competitive and make the city more attractive to investors and other users of its space. The aim of the article is to present the opportunities for the development of cities belonging to the newly created Metropolis and to show examples of using the common socio-cultural potential to create a new brand – the Metropolis "Silesia". The applied research methods refer to the current of qualitative research in the sociology of the city, which includes observation, description and content analysis. Each of the cities, depending on their nature, chooses different paths of development, placing on the potential that represents the region's greatest value and wealth. In the case of cities belonging to the Metropolis "Silesia" this potential undoubtedly constitutes the cultural heritage of the region. Thus, the article presents the course of metropolising processes taking place in the area of the Upper Silesian conurbation.

    Purpose: The aim of the paper is to analyze the innovations in Industry 4.0 conditions. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Analysis of international literature from main databases and polish literature and legal acts connecting with researched topic. Findings: The publication concentrate on problems connected with various aspects of relations between Industry 4.0 and innovativeness. In the paper we presented the main presumptions of Industry 4.0 concept and it’s nowadays usage. In the second part of the paper there is an analysis of main trends of today Industry 4.0 implementation approaches and innovativeness. Especially there is an description of main innovative trends of 2021 described from Industry 4.0 relations point of view. Also the paper deals with the social innovation aspect of Industry 4.0. There are very interesting and innovative concepts that can be used in today business environment and also governments. Some of them like universal basic income are a bit controversial but it needs to further more detailed analysis if it is possible and could benefit to the society. Other trends can be for example: new forms of employment or new types of organizational culture. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of all subjects related to the problems connected with the innovations in Industry 4.0 conditions.

    Purpose: The aim of the paper is to analyze the team innovation processes in industrial enterprise. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Analysis of international literature from main databases and polish literature and legal acts connecting with researched topic. Findings: The publication concentrate on problems connected with various aspects of team innovations. In the paper we presented the system of interactions which exist between negotiators in team especially from innovativeness point of view. Also we analyzed problems connected with team creativity and boasting it because team creativity is indispensable to boast innovativeness in industrial company. On the basis of the literature analysis it can be pointed out that the satisfying level of innovativeness can be achievable without appropriate level of creativity. To enhance it within company we need to give the people enough freedom and appropriate leadership adjusted to the culture of people. Also it is important to integrate creativity concepts and methods enhancing creativity into day-to-day operation of the organization. The organization should careful plan the division of the resources between innovative tasks. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of all subjects related to the problems connected with team innovation in an industrial enterprise.
