wyciek elektrolitu - Opis:
- Electrical conductivity (EC) of stem electrolyte leakage method was used for evaluation of frost hardiness of new cultivars of ornamental shrubs from the three popular in landscape taxa. Eight cultivars of Forsythia, Potentilla and Weigela were planted in the field at the beginning of 2010 in a sandy loam soil of pH 6.4. Stems for electrolyte leakage were collected in the beginning of every month during winter 2012/13. In general, the electrical conductivity (EC) of stem electrolyte leakage of Forsythia and Weigela was much higher than of Potentilla in all terms. Results within each species were more different and depended on cultivar. Forsythia ‘Courtasol’ had the lowest stem electrolytes leakage (mean 41.2 S·m-1) compared to ‘Goldrausch’ (81.3 S·m-1), where damages of flower bud after winter were noted. Within Weigela the lowest stem electrolytes leakage was noted on ‘Verweig’ and ‘Verweig 2’ plants (36.9 and 37.9 S·m-1 respectively), the highest on ‘Caricature’ (72.6 S·m-1). The most winter hardy shrubs occur in Forsythia ‘Courtasol’, Weigela ‘Verweig’ and ‘Verweig 2’, Potentilla ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘Yellow Bird’. Results of this experiment show that EC measurement of stem electrolytes leakage could be a very good, useful and quick method of winter hardiness estimation of new ornamental shrubs introduced to the culture.
