- The author presents the circumstances preceding the dissolution of the Town Council of Toruń in 1929. The formal reason for this restrictive decision was mismanagement and a lack of transparency in the council’s decisions on financial matters. However, there were some political conflicts between the government administration represented by the authorities of the voivodeship and the National Democracy [Endecja] which governed Toruń. The author indicates sources concerning the scrutiny of the municipal authorities conducted in the second half of the 1920s; she also addresses legal issues connected with the functioning and dissolving of the Town Council; she also reveals the echoes of the decisions in the local press.
