Opis:
X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy is a genetic disease correlated with mutation of ATP-binding cassette, which results in errors of peroxisomal beta oxidation and accumulation of impaired very long chain fatty acids. This leads to degeneration of adrenal glands, spinal cord and myelin sheaths. Despite nearly 100 years of ALD history, the treatment is limited to few therapeutic options, mainly Lorenzo’s Oil and Hematopoetic stem cell transplant. Available therapy can only slow the progression of the disease in early stages. The aim of our study was to present the newest therapeutic options in X-ALD. Substantial articles on new treatment of X-ALD from period 2007-2018 in the Asian, European and American regions have been analyzed. Among 219 articles in PubMed Medline database related to therapy and treatment of X-ALD, 13 articles were selected for analysis, reviewed and divided into two main groups: cause-related treatment (11 articles) and symptoms-related treatment (2 articles). Within cause-related treatment, the usage of known medications such as eg. pioglitazone, natural phenols - resveratrol, gene therapy with adenoassociated virus serotype 9 or combined therapies (Hematopoetic Stem Cell Gene Therapy) have been reviewed. Symptoms related treatment attempted to reduce spasticity and secondary dystonia in X-ALD patients. Reviewed research presents progress in development of treatment options for X-ALD, however still in primary in vitro and animal tested stages. Secondary neurological symptoms medication is awaiting for better solutions for ALD patients, in order to improve their Quality of Life and allow symptomless course for a longer time.

Opis:
The aim of a quality assurance program is to assist a radio-diagnostic facility in consistently obtaining adequate radiological information with a minimum of dose and a minimum of cost. An integrated part of a quality assurance program is quality control ascertaining quality by measurements and other procedures. When procuring equipment, a specification is worked out taking into account all aspects of the performance of the equipment including the desired tolerances of technique factors. In this study the seven tests (beam alignment, beam collimation, reproducibility, accuracy of kv, time accuracy, half value layer (HVL) and leakage) were carried out for the newly installed General X-Ray machine at Nuclear Malaysia and were in the acceptable limits. Such a test will be the responsibility of a qualified physicist or engineer. The status test is carried out in order to establish the functional status of the equipment. The test is performed immediately after the acceptance test or as an integrated part of it. The test will be repeated when repair influencing the functional status has taken place like the acceptance test; the status test will comprise absolute measurements and will likewise be the responsibility of a qualified physicist or engineer.

On 16th March 2016 the solar radio burst type II is recorded to appear on spectrograph after the type III formation. These two bursts related to the Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) event that recorded by the SOHO spacecraft several minutes before the formation of Type III on the spectrograph. It has been reported that the Type III burst a fast drift compared to the Type II burst. In this paper, the calculation has been proved that the type III burst has a higher drift rate compared to Type II. These two events of Type II and III burst also has been contributing to the formation of C class flare with magnitude of C2.2 It is also proven that the type III burst has a fast drift rate compared to type II burst. In this case, the type III has a fast drift rate of 81% compared to the type II burst. During this event, the active region AR 12522 erupted the C-class X-ray emission with magnitude of C2.2 contribute to these type III and II burst

212-Vanadate ceramics with formula Bi2SrV2-xUxO9, where (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.6 mole ) were carefully synthesized by solution routes with sintering temperature at 880oC for 24 hrs. Structural analysis with XRD proved that uranium (IV)-dopant can substitute successfully until x = 0.55 mole on the Bi-layered perovskite crystal structure without damaging the original structure . It was observed that U – doping have slight to moderate effects on both ESR-signals and conduction mechanism of U-doped Bi-Sr-V-O regime. Electrical measurements indicated that the energy gap Eg and number of electrons in conduction band Ncb increase as the ratio of U doping increases from x = 0.05 till x = 0.6 mole respectively due to the increasing of paramagnetic character of uranium than vanadium.

Structural and microstructural properties were monitoring by using both of XRD and SEM evaluating that indium doped - calcium vanadate ceramic has the semiconducting classical doubly perovskite phase as proved in the X-ray diffractogram, grain size of the material bulk was found to be in between 1.57- 2.23 μm which are lower than those reported in literatures .Magnetic measurements indicated that the In- doped- calcium vanadate ceramic exhibits an semiconducting behavior confirming that indium- hole dopings enhance the paramagnetic character and semi-conduction mechanism of the hexagonal perovskite phase. Furthermore 3D-AFM investigations were made to study effect of indium doping on the surface topology and grain size in the material bulk.

The magnetization of fifth instar larvae was carried out on the first four days, for half an hour for each day before first feeding. Bioassay of total proteins was carried out on the fifth day of fifth instars. The attempt reveals influence of magnetization of Bombyx mori larvae on the total protein content level in the silk glands, fat bodies and haemolymph. The total protein content was increased with increase in the strength of magnetic field from 1000 to 4000 Gauss magnetic field. The larvae magnetized with 4000 Gauss magnetic field were found with sustained or decreased in total protein contents. Silk gland total proteins were increased from 5.901 to 17.481 percent. Total proteins of fat bodies were increased from 18 to 46.517 percent. And the total proteins of haemolymph were increased from 16.606 to 33.588 percent. Magnetization may have had influence on the increase in the levels of amino acids followed by accelerated rate of protein synthesis in the fifth instar larvae of silkworm, Bombyx mori (L) (Race: PM x CSR2). Magnetic energy should be utilized as efficiently as possible for the progression of growth of larval instars of silkworm, Bombyx mori (L).

The CALLISTO spectrometer has been used to detect and record the Type IV and Type III occurred during 22:07UT till 22:11 UT and it only took about 3.30 minutes to occur. The range of frequency of this burst 20-85 MHz and data is from ROSWELL-NM observatory. With the presence of the data, we aim to determine the causes of the Solar Radio Burst Type IV produced Type III burst in several minutes and describe briefly about the formation and dynamics of solar radio burst type IV occurred on active region, AR2335 which also produced beta-gamma magnetic field. This event showed the strong pulsation and a broadband pattern with details about Type IV burst, then Type III burst present in fast drift. AR 2335 is the most active region and produced X2-class of solar flares which has solar wind speed about 361.6km/second and proton density about 4.3 protons/cm3 in the solar corona. AR 2335 harbor energy for X2-class from 6-H to 24-H observation on X-Ray solar flares have been recorded. The data showed that it has a strong energy electrons presence during the burst occurred in the active region and this class of solar flares are more powerful which has potential to cause radio blackout and long lasting space weather storms. As the conclusion, the sun activity showed on 5th May 2015 has quasi-periodic pulsation that has continuum and drift in lower frequency. The Centre of the Sun is very important to be study because this layer is where the nuclear reaction will be occurred. During large event pre-flare usually continues a few minutes and followed by impulsive phase about 3 to 10 minutes. Solar storms such as solar flare and Coronal Mass Ejections are frequently occurred on the area of the Sun that have strong magnetic field or known as active region The release of the stored free magnetic energy that probably drives a CME can take many forms including (predominantly) mechanical in the form of an expanding CME and erupting filament, electromagnetic emission in the form of a flare, and also in the acceleration of energetic particles, magnetic field reconfiguration and bulk plasma motion. In this study, the data of active region of the Sun was taken from official website of the Langkawi National Observatory. The image of the active region was observed by using 11-inch Celestron telescope with solar filter. This data confirms that there was a strong M class of solar flare during the day due to eruption of AR 2529 was occurred on 18th of April. From the x-ray flux data also, it can be observed that few days before M6.7 class solar flare occurred, there were several C classes of flare. The evolution of small AR 2529 to a big heart-shape forms an eruption that producing strong M6.7 class of flare and three gradual CMEs. This strong flare caused significant impact around the high technologies of Pacific Ocean by fading the signal at frequencies below 15 MHz.
