Numbers of the form n(n+1) are called oblong numbers. Let O_n be the n^th oblong number. An oblong sum labeling of a graph G =(V,E) with p vertices and q edges is a one to one function f : V(G)→{0,2,4,6,8,…} that induces a bijection f^*: E(G)→{O_1,O_2,O_3,…,O_q } of the edges of G defined by f^* (uv)=f(u)+f(v) for all e = uv ∈ E(G). The graph that admits oblong sum labeling is called oblong sum graph. In this paper, oblong sum labeling of some special graphs is studied.

We use the Todorov’s formula for the generalized Bernoulli numbers, in terms of Stirling numbers of the second kind, to deduce the Guo-Qi and Schläfli identities. Our approach is based in the duality property between the Stirling numbers, and in the Nörlund polynomials. We also consider the Janjic’s definitions for the Stirling numbers.

Opis:
Solar irradiation is the major source of energy delivered to Earth’s atmosphere. Satellite measurements of total solar irradiation are proportional in time to sunspot numbers. Sunspot numbers have a well-organized periodic nature that is predictable in time. At the present time solar activity is in a very low phase and will be increasing over the next few decades. The atmosphere’s consumption of solar energy strongly depends upon the percentages of carbon dioxide and water vapor in it, which can cause greenhouse effects. The recent increases in the percentage of water vapor and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere have caused global warming. Water levels are affected by melting glaciers. The purpose of this paper is to separate the influence of solar activity and greenhouse effects on global warming and to forecast these influences for several decades.

Opis:
A major source of energy on Earth is solar irradiation. This paper uses the Kolmogorov-Zurbenko filter to smooth and examine sunspot numbers and proves that solar irradiation levels near Earth are strictly proportional to sunspot numbers. This paper also examines the transport of that energy through the atmosphere to Earth’s surface. Long term air temperatures on the surface of Earth perfectly follow the cosine square law along latitudes. Time components of long term temperatures have oscillations which follow oscillations in sunspot numbers, but due to the regular delays in energy transmission they are delayed 4-7 years. Cloud formations and vapor accumulations also contribute to those delays, which have a well-organized time-space structure. The main purpose of this paper is the numerical identification of human influence over changes in solar activities, which may allow researchers to identify the effects of various sources of those influences. This evaluation can only be achieved by separating the scales in order to avoid any false influence from other scales. The clear separation of scales can only be achieved using the Kolmogorov-Zurbenko filter.

A (p, q) graph G is said to admit higher order triangular graceful labeling if its vertices can be labeled by the integers from 0 to qth higher order triangular numbers such that the induced edge labels obtained by the absolute difference of the labels of end vertices are the first q higher order triangular numbers.
