Opis:
Data on body weight and morphometric traits from one hundred and fifty-eight (158) live African cat fish sampled from two locations around Okitipupa within Ondo State, Nigeria was subjected to simple statistics analysis, Pearson’s correlation and analysis of variance to test for the effect of sex, age, location and body size on the body weight and the morphometric traits. The coefficient of variation (CV) varied among the parameters were considered. Results obtained revealed that body weight had the highest value (46.18%) in the adult fish while it was 22.76% in juvenile fish. Insignificant effect of sex (p > 0.05) was observed in both adult and juvenile fish in all the parameters considered. Age had a very highly significant effect (p < 0.0001) on all the parameters considered. The adult had higher values compared to the juvenile in body weight and the morphometric traits. Effect of body size was significant (P < 0.0001) on body weight and morphometric traits, the estimates increased from small size to medium to big size. Significant effect (P < 0.0001) of location was observed only on body weight, total length, standard length and head length. The fish from farm A had higher values compared to farm B. The correlation coefficients among the traits for juvenile and adult fish ranged between low to high and were significant (P < 0.05, P < 0.01 and P < 0.0001). Morphometric traits can be used in characterizing African catfish based on age and body size.

Opis:
The purpose of this research to determine the most preferred amount of mocaf flour addition to gray eel catfish sausage. Methods of the research was the experimental method with treatment five comparisons percentage addition of mocaf flour to the amount wheat flour. The treatments included A (0% mocaf flour and 100% wheat flour), B (15% mocaf flour and 85% wheat flour), C (20% mocaf flour and 80% wheat flour), D (25% mocaf flour and 75% wheat flour), E (30% mocaf flour and 70% wheat flour). Processed sausages using 15% flour from total surimi which is assumed to be 100%. Observations carried out on organoleptic characteristics that hedonic test (preference level) includes the appearance, aroma, texture, taste and then physical characteristics, namely folding test of the gray eel catfish sausages. The results showed that the addition of mocaf flour 25% is the treatment that most panelists like because it has an alternative value of 8,74 and the highest average value of folding test is 4,0 found in sausage with the addition of mocaf flour as much 0%.

Opis:
This research aims to analyze the demand elasticity of catfish (Clarias sp.) on Bandung City and to analyze the factors (the price of catfish, the price of tilapia fish, the price of broiler chicken meat, the price of rice and percapita income) that are affect the demand for catfish (Clarias sp.) on Bandung City. This research was conducted on January 22th until February 16th at Bandung City. The method used is descriptive analytical method by using periodical data (time series). This data retrieval technique by using purposive sampling where a researcher must really know that the respondents who choose can provide the desired information in accordance with research problems. The results showed that the demand for catfish (Clarias sp.) on Bandung City is elastic, and the factors that affect the demand for catfish (Clarias sp.) on Bandung City are the price of catfish, the price of red tilapia fish, the price of broiler chicken meat, the price of rice and percapita income.

This paper describes the case of an unsuccessful introduction of the common pleco Hypostomus plecostomus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Loricariidae) in an artificial water reservoir near Warsaw Citadel, which is the second instance described for representatives of American loricariid fish species in Poland. A landed individual has been labelled and presented in the photographs. The finding is discussed with available polish inland waters data and authors observations.

Opis:
This research aims to determine the shelf life of catfish skin crackers in polypropylene plastic packaging using the ASLT method. This test was conducted in the Fisheries Product Processing Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University and testing the content of water content and TBA (Thiobarbituric Acid) of catfish skin crackers at the Food Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Food Science Technology, Padjadjaran University from September to November 2018. This study used an experimental method consisting of 3 storage temperature treatments at 25 ºC, 35 ºC and 45 ºC. Observations carried out include sensory (hedonic) test, water content test, and TBA (Thiobarbituric Acid) test. For the calculation, Arrhenius model was chosen with odor as a critical parameter to determine the shelf life which had the biggest R2 value with equation Arrhenius Ln K = 1079.8 (1/T) – 5.5161, with R2 value equal to 0.9212. The shelf life of catfish skin crackers that was saved at the room temperature (25 ºC) was 39 days or 1.3 month.
