In this research, the nanocrystalline porous silicon (PSi) films are prepared by electrochemical etching of p types silicon wafers with 15 mA/cm2 etching current densities and 15 min etching time on the formation nanosized pore array. PSi was characterized by the measurement of XRD, FTIR spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy properties (AFM). We have estimated crystallites size from X-Ray diffraction about nanoscale for PSi and Atomic Force microscopy confirms the nanometric size Chemical fictionalization during the electrochemical etching show on the surface chemical composition of PSi. The atomic force microscopy investigation shows the rough silicon surface. Also, it is reported the preparation of colloidal CdS nanoparticles NPs prepared by laser ablation in liquid (LAL) technique by irradiating with a Nd:YAG laser pulses CdS target immersed in methanol and varying the laser fluence 1.32 J/cm2. The structural, morphological and optical of CdS NPs has been studied. XRD measurement disclosed that the CdS NPs were of wurtzite hexagonal crystal structure. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) investigation revealed that the synthesized CdS particles are spherical and have an average particle size in the range of (25 nm). AFM investigations showed that the produced CdS particles have ball-shape with good disposability. The energy band gap of CdS NPs prepared with 1.32 J/cm2 laser fluence has been determined from optical properties and found to be in the range (2.9 eV). Optical constants of CdS NPs were determined from transmittance and reflectance spectra.The effect of CdS NPs diffusion on properties of PSi Photodetector have reported which reveals that improving in (Al/PSi/Si/Al). The results show that a linear relationship between 1/C2 and reverse bias voltage was obtained. The built-in potential have values depending on the etching time current density and laser flunce. Al/CdSe/PSi/Si/Al photodetector hetrojunction have two peaks of response located at 415 nm and (700 -800nm) with max sensitivity 0.6 A/W. The maximum specific detectivity is 6.8×〖10〗^12 cm•〖Hz〗^(1/2) 〖•W〗^(-1) at 770 nm wavelength.

TiO2 nanomaterial was prepared by precipitation method and sonication technique. The nanomaterial was characterized by HR-SEM with EDX, TEM, XRD, FT-IR and PL analysis. The photocatalytic activity of TiO2 was much better than that of TiO2–P25 under UV-light irradiation at 365 nm. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated from the photodegradation of malachite green (MAG). The influence of operational parameters such as the effect of catalyst loading dye concentration and chemical oxygen demand measurements had also been investigated. The Photodegradation was found to follow the pseudo-first-order kinetics. Hydroxyl radical formation in the mechanism was confirmed by fluorescence quenching technique. It was proposed that the catalyst is found to be stable and reusable.

NiO nanoparticles were synthesized by Sol-Gel method and the synthesized nanoparticles were annealed at different temperatures. The powders were investigated with x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and TGA. The structural characterization was carried out by x-ray diffraction which confirms the polycrystalline nature of the films with a cubic structure. SEM analysis of the films enabled the conclusion that the prepared films are uniform, rough, large crystals and agglomeration of particles were observed. The thermal stability of the sample was examined by TGA analysis which showed NiO nanoparticles formed between 130-720 C.

Soft chemistry procedures through sol–gel technique has applied to synthesize nano- Ti-doped CdTe composite. Gels were synthesized by the hydrolysis of a complex solution of Si(OC2H5)4, Cd(CH3COO)2•2H2O, Ti(CH3COO)4 and Te were heated from 350 to 600 °C in a H2─N2 atmosphere to form fine cubic CdTe doped crystals. The size of CdTe crystals, determined from the line broadening of X-ray diffraction pattern, increases from 6 to 21 nm in diameter with increasing heat-treatment temperature. Micro-structural features of Ti-doped CdTe crystals were characterized by both of AFM and SEM investigations . The analysis of micro-structural micrographs of both of SEM and AFM indicated that titanium additions improved the crystal growth of grain towards more lower grain size which ranged in between 1.4-2.5 μm while 0.67 μm through Scherrer’s calculations.

ZnO thin film with an aim to employ in opto-electronic applications was prepared using sol-gel dip-coating route and thereafter sintered at temperature 500 ºC. The film has been investigated by XRD pattern, SEM, UV-Vis and photoluminescence spectroscopy for physical and optical characterization of ZnO thin film. X-Ray diffraction pattern analysis reveals the polycrystalline nature with hexagonal wurtzite structure having orientation along the plane (002). Scanning electron micrograph shows symmetrical dense ZnO rod throughout the surface. The diffuse reflectance spectrum is studied in the range of wavelength 300-800 nm. A band gap of 3.21 eV is calculated using Kubelka-Munk function. PL spectrum shows strong peak at 380 nm due to oxygen vacancy of ZnO.

Opis:
Highly efficient CdO-SiO2 nanomaterial was synthesized by Sol-gel method and sonication technique. The nanomaterial was characterized by Field-emission Scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) with elementary dispersive X-ray (EDX), High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL) and Ultraviolet-Visible diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS). The photocatalytic activity of CdO-SiO2 nanomaterial was studied from the photodegradation of Rh B as it has maximum efficiency at pH = 7 under UV-light irradiation at 365 nm. The photodegradation of dye various Catalyst loading and dye concentration is parameters have been studied. The hydroxyl radical formation in the mechanism was confirmed by fluorescence quenching technique. The mineralization of dye is confirmed by chemical oxygen demand measurements. An achievable mechanism is proposed for higher activity of CdO-SiO2 under UV-light at 365 nm. This catalyst was found to be stable and reusable.

The present investigations introduce for first time new trend of coupling of two sterilizing sources, high energy Nd-Laser and Gamma – irradiations which has oxidative nature by additional to its thermal effects. The investigated samples will be examined before and after radiations to confirm its internal structure (XRD, microstructure (SEM, AFM, Raman-Spectra) and killing ratio for polluted bacteria. Furthermore some selected biological tests will be checked to be sure from toxicity ratio after radiations. Also many of investigational parameters will be tested such as strength of irradiation dose and irradiation dosage time to achieve maximum healthy sterilizing ratio per minimum time to validate application and wide scale application of this promising sterilizing technique.

The synthesized Ni-alloy was prepared via conventional casting technique under vacuum and highly superheated treatment route. The casting parameters such as solidification cooling rate (SCR) was monitoring by both of AFM and SEM .Micro-structural investigations within different spots in the same sample indicated that γ matrix is the domain phase besides minor phases as MC carbides, σ phase and η phase which was observed to solidify in two forms as plate-like and blocky shape. The volume fraction (Vf) of σ and η phases was increased as the solidification cooling rate decreases. 3D-microstructural imaging map of the Ni-based super-alloy was constructed depending upon AFM-data evaluating that the morphology of the alloy-surface is a function of casting parameters .Furthermore raman spectra of highly superheated casted Ni-based super-alloy was performed to confirm existence of different phases recorded via SEM and EDX-elemental analysis with their corresponding different vibrational modes such as Ni-O vibrating modes in the region 360-510 cm-1 and Mo-O vibrating mode which lies at 1005 cm-1.

Solution route was applied to synthesize new family of free-fluoride synthetic clay. All starting solutions were made by applying carbon tetra-chloride (CCl4) as a solvent. The selected sample of synthetic free fluoride – Na-4-mica was having the general formula (Na4Mg6M4Si4O22•nH2O) where M = Cr3+ was exposured to two different ɤ-irradiation doses 1st dose = 1.5 MR/h and 2nd dose = 3 MR/h at 25 cm distance. Structural parameters such as lattice constants, volume and phase quality were monitoring carefully by using both of XRD and SEM evaluating grain size of the mica bulk. Structural investigations proved that Cr-clay exhibits monoclinic phase accompanied with structure quality in comparison with both of Bi-and Al-clays

This study involves the determination of the adsorption capacity of activated kaolin for the removal of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride from aqueous medium. The kaolin was activated through chemical (HCl and HNO3) activation method, the adsorbent was characterize using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), the adsorption experiment was monitored using Ultra-violet visible spectrophotometer at maximum wavelength of 438 nm. Vegetative plants of certain seaweeds were collected from the natural habitat of Kilakarai and Mandapam coast were subjected to SEM-energy dispersive spectroscopic analysis and quantified the following minerals viz., Na, Mg, Si, S, Cl, K, Ca, Mn, P, Fe, Zn and Cr during summer, pre-monsoon, monsoon and post-monsoon seasons in 2007-2008. The order of preferential accumulation of elemental composition during summer 2007 in Sargassum wightii: Ca > Mg > Na > S > Fe > Si > Cl > K > Mn; Stoechospermum marginatum: Ca > Si > S > Mg > Mn > P > Na; Gracilaria corticata: Ca > Mg > Na > Si > Cl > S > Mn > K > Fe > P; Gracilaria verrucosa: Ca > Cl > Si > Mg > Na > P > S > Mn > Fe > K and Grateloupia filicinia: Ca > Cl > P > Si > Na > Cr > K. Seasonal distribution of elemental composition in the seaweeds showed that most of the minerals were high during the summer followed post-monsoon and monsoon seasons. This could perhaps be due to an ambient concentration of these minerals was high during these seasons thereby facilitating their uptake by seaweeds.
