Opis:
Some aryl chalcones have been synthesized by Cu2+/Zeolite catalyzed aldol condensation of aryl methyl ketones and substituted benzaldehydes under microwave irradiation conditions. The yields of the synthesized chalcones are more than 85%. These chalcones were characterized by their physical constants and spectroscopic data. The antimicrobial activities of synthesized chalcones were studied by Bauer-Kirby disc diffusion method.

Opis:
namely 3-methyl-2,6-diphenylpiperidin-4-oneoxime and copper(II) complex of this oxime was prepared by literature procedure. The purities of these ketone, oxime and copper complex was analyzed by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods reported in the literature. The physicochemical analysis results confirmed that the structure of the complex was distorted octahedral. The antimicrobial activities of these substrates such as ketone, oxime and its copper complex were investigated using Bauer-Kirby disc diffusion technique against several antimicrobes by measuring the mm of zones of inhibitions. Further these activities were concluded using drug dilution method. From the analysis report, the copper (II) complex of the oxime shows significant antimicrobial activities against their antimicrobial stains. The oxime shows moderate antimicrobial activity. The ketone shows satisfactory antibacterial and antifungal activities against their stains in both disc diffusion and drug dilution methods.

Opis:
Some aryl pyrazolines including 3-(substituted phenyl)-5-(naphthalen-1-yl)-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazoles were prepared by microwave irradiation promoted cyclization of aryl enones and phenylhydrazine in the presence of solid acidic bentonite/FeCl3 catalyst under solvent-free conditions. In this cyclization the obtained yields are more than 75%. The structural analysis of these pyrazoline derivatives were confirmed through analytical and spectral techniques. The effect of catalyst and solvent on this cyclization also investigated through the obtained yields. The antimicrobial activities of these pyrazoline derivatives were assessed through measurement of mm of zone of inhibition against their micro stains using well known Bauer-Kirby disc diffusion method.

In this work, an attempt was made to synthesized (E)-1-(2,4-dimethylthiazol-5-yl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-one by cross-aldol condensation reaction of 5′-acetyl-2,4-dimethylthiazole with various substituted Benz aldehyde in the presence base (sodium hydroxide). The synthesized (E)-1-(2,4-dimethylthiazol-5-yl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-one derivative was characterized by physical constants, UV, FT-IR, 1H-NMR & 13C-NMR spectral data. All the observed spectral data of substituted (E)-1-(2,4-dimethylthiazol-5-yl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-one compounds have been correlated with Hammett substituent constants(σ, σ+, σI & σR) and F and R parameters using single and multi-linear regression analyses and studied for their anti-microbial activities and compared with the standard drugs (Ciprofloxacin). Some compound of the series exhibited promising anti-microbial activity compared to standard drugs (Ciprofloxacin).

Elven (E)-1-(4-bromophenyl)-3-(substituted phenyl)-2-propen-1-ones are formed using sodium hydroxide catalyzed Aldol condensation between 4-bromoacetophenone and substituted benzaldehyde. The production of these chalcone compounds are above 90%. These α, β unsaturated ketones were specified by their physical constants and spectral data (UV, IR, 1H and 13C-NMR). Hammett substituted constants (σ, σ+, σI & σR and F and R parameters have been used for correlating the spectral values of these α, β unsaturated ketones by using single and multi-linear regression analysis. The impacts of substituents on the spectral data have been known on statistical analysis. By using Bauer-Kirby method the anti-microbial activities of these (E)-1-(4-bromophenyl)-3-(substituted phenyl)-2-propen-1-ones compounds are estimated.
