Opis:
The aim of present work is the development of a quasi-steady state model for the time course concentration profile describing the oxygen diffusion and consumption in a multilayered corneal tissue and investigation of the effect of various model parameters on the oxygen concentration for open and closed eyes. A simple mathematical model for the oxygen transport in multilayered corneal tissue was developed using Fick’s law of diffusion, Michaelis-Menten kinetics of metabolism. A Crank-Nicolson finite difference scheme of the equation describing the oxygen diffusion and consumption was written, in which spatial diffusive terms of the equation were approximated by central differences while the temporal terms were approximated by average of forward and backward time differences. A system of linear equations obtained from the Crank-Nicholson finite differences schemes was solved by the Thomas Algorithm in which successive improve approximate results are obtained.

Opis:
In this investigation, an epidemic Markov queueing model with alert, infection, vaccination and death has been considered. The main focus of this work is on the vaccination to provide the infection in a population. Healthy person may be affected from some disease that may cause death. The vaccination is the power tool for the prevention of the diseases spreading over the population size. Healthy person become alert when symptoms of the disease can be seen on them and the alert may be injected due to more infection. The provision of vaccination is provided in both alert and infected stages. The transition rates as followed by exponential distribution. A Markov model is developed by using inflow and outflow transition rates of the model. The transient state probabilities are evaluated by solving the transient state equations by using runge kutta method which are further used for calculating the model performances. A numerical illustration is also provided to validate the model.

Opis:
The present study aims to evaluate the mutagenic potential of secondary metabolites viz. anthraquinone, β-sitosterol and quercetin present in Alternanthera tenella and their related analogus compounds similar in their molecular structure. Nine similar putative allelochemicals analogus to each of anthraquninone, β-sitosterol and quercetin respectively were selected, a total of twenty seven similar chemicals were studied for mutagenicity prediction. Ames mutagenicity prediction was carried out by using T.E.S.T. (Toxicity Estimation Software Tool) of USEPA. All experimental metadata were obtained from Toxicity Benchmark and T.E.S.T. The results clearly indicated that the allelochemicals, anthraquinone and its related eight compounds were mutagenic positive except benzanthrone (mutagenic negative) but all experimental data were found mutagenic positive. β-sitosterol showed mutagenic negative in both experimental and predicted value. It’s three related compounds were mutagenic positive but rest six related compounds mutagenic negative in predicted value while in experimental data, seven compounds were found mutagenic positive and rest two mutagenic negative. In case of quercetin, both data were obtained mutagenic positive while in related compounds, seven compounds were found to be mutagenic positive and two compounds mutagenic negative in predicted value. All were found to be mutagenic positive in experimental metadata. Such findings poses a curiosity that are there any possibilities of conversion or substitution in the position of aromatic ring of allelochemicals when present in soil? Because allelopathy depends upon several environmental stressors and mutagenicity may be induced by allelochemicals. It is suggesting for future research to detect metabolic pathway and mechanism of allelochemicals formation in A. tenella in presence of toxins in soil and to validate with other available 2D and 3D softwares.

In this study, we report the synthesis of 2,5-substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives using condensation of cyclohexanecarbohydrazide derivatives and carbon disulfide. In present study, we have prepared total seven derivatives based on 1,3,4-oxadiazole core further functionalized with thiol moieties. The structures of synthesized compounds (C1-C9) were confirmed by the 1H NMR, and Mass spectrometry. These synthesized molecules were subjected to antibacterial and fungal activity against selected microbial and fungal strains. Some of derivatives showed good biological behaviour against gram positive and gram negative bacteria.

Opis:
A modular three step synthetic approach of N-methyl indole derivatives has been carried out by the condensation of N-methyl indole with cyanoacetic acid using acetic anhydride as solvent to yield 3-cyanoacetyl N-methyl indole, which further reacts with carbon disulphide and methyl iodide in basic condition to obtain 2-(1-methyl-1H-indole-3-carbonyl)-3,3-bis(methylthio)acrylonitrile as a scaffold. Subsequent, the scaffold when reacts with substituted various amine derivatives via desulfitative displacement forms new derivatives of 3-((substitutedphenyl)amino)-2-(1-methyl-1H-indole-3-carbonyl)-3-(methylthio)acrylonitrile in moderate to good yields. All the novel compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against Gram+ve and Gram-ve bacteria and different fungal species which demonstrated well to moderate antimicrobial activity.
