Opis:
This research aims to determine the highest level of fermented Lemna sp. used in artficial feed to produce optimum growth rate of Nilem Carp. This research was conducted from March to July 2016, in the Ciparanje Laboratory and Aquaculture Laboratory of the Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty, Universitas Padjadjaran. The method used in this research is experimental, and is of a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). It consists of five treatments and three repetitions, providing one commercial diet (as control) and four fermented Lemna sp. levels (10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%). Collected data are analyzed with analysis of variance F-test at 95% confidence level. The parameters observed in this research are divided into four sub-parameters: nutrition changes of fermented Lemna sp., daily growth rate, feed conversion ratio and survival rate. The crude fiber content of Lemna sp. was reduced from 18.37% to 13.57%, and protein content increased from 19.37% to 23.47%, respectively, after fermentation. Based on the results of this research, fermented Lemna sp. used in fish feed at 40% level produced the best results: a daily growth rate at 0.75%, a feed conversion ratio at 3.61 and a survival rate of up to 100%.

Opis:
Entandrophragma angolense is a tropical tree species with a very slow growth rate. To overcome this barrier, a study on the effect of organic amendment on the growth rate of Entandrophragma angolense seedlings was conducted in the nursery section of the Department of Forestry and Wildlife, University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. Herein, 2kg polythene pots, each containing top soil were all amended with Poultry droppings (PRD), Cow dung (CWD) and Compost (CPT) at a ratio of 2:1, while top soil alone served as the control. Employing a completely randomized design (CRD), growth variables were recorded on a fortnight basis. The seedlings were assessed for height, number of leaves and collar diameter for a total period of 20 weeks. Fresh weights and total dry weights of the seedlings were also determined at the end of the experiment. No significant difference (p>0.05) was observed in the effect of organic amendments on the plant mean height and number of leaves throughout the study period, however, a significant difference was observed in collar diameter at 2 weeks after treatment and 12 weeks after treatment alone. Organic amendment was found to influence general biomass production in the specie, although there was no significant difference (p>0.05) in stem biomass production. Conclusively, organic amendment can be said not to have significantly (p>0.05) affected the growth of E. angolense, while this cannot be said of the biomass production, albeit at a low level of significance.

Opis:
The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of liquid commercial probiotics usage on improving the survival rate and growth of Siamese catfish fingerlings. This research was conducted on March to May 2018, at Building 4 Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran. This study used an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consisted of four treatments and three replications. The treatments are feed without the addition of probiotics, and feed with additional probiotics at doses of 2, 4, and 6 ml / kg of feed. The parameters observed were survival rate, absolute weight, absolute length, feed conversion ratio, proximate test analysis and water quality. Data on absolute weight, absolute length, feed conversion ratio and survival rate were analyzed using analysis of variance, while nutrition changes of fish feed and water quality were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the best addition of probiotics for feed, is with probiotic doses of 2 ml / kg of feed, which resulted in a 100% survival rate, an absolute weight value of 1.03% and a feed conversion ratio of 1.13.

This research aims to investigate the effect of adding potassium diformate to commercial feed on the increase of absolute growth rate and the activity of protease enzyme. The research was conducted from July to October 2019 in the Aquaculture Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University. The method applied in this research was an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consists of four treatments and four replications. The treatments were: (A) without addition of Potassium diformate (control), (B) addition of Potassium diformate by 0.3%, (C) addition of Potassium diformate by 0.5%, and (D) addition Potassium diformate by 0.8%. The test fish were 300 giant gouramis with 4-6 cm in length. The containers used in this research were 16 rearing aquaria with a size of 40 30 40 cm3. The density of studied giant gourami fingerlings was 10 fish per aquarium. The rearing period was 40 days. The feeding rate was 3% from biomass. Water quality parameters (temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen), the absolute growth rate, feed conversation ratio and survival rate were observed every 10 days. The protease enzyme activities were observed at the end of the research. Data on the absolute growth rate, feeding conversion ratio, the characteristics of protease enzyme and survival rate were analyzed using the Analysis of Variance (ANNOVA) continued with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at the level of 95%, while the water quality was analyzed descriptively. The results show that the addition of potassium diformate by 0.3% gave the best result with the absolute growth rate of 1.50%, feed conversion ratio of 2.70, protease enzyme activity by 634.2 μ/mL and survival rate of 100%.

The method in used this research was Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and four replications. The treatment was the variances of probiotic addition which consisted of control (without probiotics), probiotic addition at as much as 0.5 grams / kg of feed, 1 gram / kg of feed and 1.5 grams / kg of feed. The parameters observed were specific growth rate (SGR), absolute biomass, survival rate (SR) and feed conversion ratio (FCR). Data were analyzed using Variant Analysis, at 95% confidence level, and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the increase in the daily growth rate of Sangkuriang catfish was straight-line with the addition of probiotics. Furthermore, commercial probiotics with a dose of 1 gram / kg of feed resulted in specific growth rate of 4.22%, absolute weight of 11 grams, survival rate (SR) of 97.5% and FCR of 0.89.

Opis:
Planting mangroves on Pramuka Island is done in a monoculture way and usually fails. However, the planting managed by the Kepulauan Seribu National Park has become more successful. The specific objective of the research was to quantify the success rate of mangrove planting in Pramuka Island based on survival, growth and benthos levels in Pramuka Island mangroves. The mangrove planting area that was used as the research sample was an area wherein the planting are 14, 12 and 6 years old. The type of mangrove that planted is Rhizophora stylosa. The number of plots was determined based on the area. Data was collected in the form of primary data, namely, the number of living trees, tree heights, number of leaves and leaf dimensions. The success of mangrove planting reached 52%, 66.43% and 57.5% at stations 1, 2 and 3. The highest success rate was at station 2, while stations 1 and 3 are considered failures. This indicates that Pramuka Island has a low success rate of mangrove planting.
