    According to the personalist ethicists the moral principle persona est affirmanda is very important in human life; some of them propose even to replace it with the general rule of the natural law: bonum est faciendum. The polish capuchin, Venerable Serafin Kaszuba, may be a special example of the life in the light of the principle persona est affirmanda. His moral discernment is used in this paper for analyzing – in practice – the relation between the usage of the moral standards and the place of the principle persona est affirmanda

    Opis:
    The article discusses speeches given by Popes Benedict XVI and Francis which were addressed to the Apostolic Penitentiary in the years 2007-2016. In these addresses one can see indications of high importance for a contemporary confessor. Popes show the him as a person who takes care of the penitent and prays for him or her. His sacerdotal and spiritual life should be constantly strengthened by contact with Christ. The confessor is to be reachable and available for the people. His different duties, as indicated by Popes, also also include raising one’s a pqualifications, and obedience to the Magisterium of the Church. He reveals God’s mercy and should be merciful himself for this reason but not permissive towards sins of the penitent. Now more than in previous centuries the emphasis is put on personal qualities of the confessor such as communicative skills, restraint, empathy, which facilitate a confession for the penitent.

    The author of the article analyses the guidelines of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life New Wine in New Wineskins from the point of view of axiological personalism. This document looks with a critical eye at many realities of consecrated life in order to overcome its contemporary problems. It is possible to see structures of religious communities also in the light of Hildebrand’s theory of moral substitutes. To prevent axiological disturbances of the communities of consecrated life – individual conversion of their members is not enough but structural reforms are needed.
