Opis:
Lightweight robots (LWR) are a new generation of devices intended to be used not only for industrial tasks but also to perform actions in the human environment. This work presents an analysis of selected basic problems related to the vibration properties of light-weight robot arms. The study of vibration is based on the analysis of the root locus on the plane of complex variables. It turns out that their distribution is non-stationary and depends on the parameters of the model (arm geometry, material parameters), but also depends on the type of realised motion, which is not so obvious. Depending on the manoeuvres conducted (acceleration / deceleration), the system may lose (or increase) its oscillating properties at higher frequencies, as well as introduce a structural (measurable) delay. Recognition of the discussed properties along with their modelling is an important element of the design process of the control system of modern, light-weight robots.

Opis:
The paper introduces a method of discrete-continuous systems modelling. In the proposed method a threedimensional system is divided into finite elements in only two directions, with the third direction remaining continuous. The thus obtained discrete-continuous model is described by a set of partial differential equations. General difference equations of discrete system are obtained using the rigid finite element method. The limit of these equations leads to partial differential equations. The derived equations, expressed in matrix form, allow for the creation of a global matrix for the whole system. The equations are solved using the distributed transfer function method. Proposed approach is illustrated with the example of a simple beam fixed at both ends.

Opis:
Boom–type roadheaders represent heavy working machines used in underground mines for the drilling of dog headings, for tunnelling and – to a certain extent – for surface mining. The key working process carried out by such roadheaders is rock mining. This process, especially when cutting rocks with low workability, causes strong vibration excitations and dynamic loads not only in a roadheader cutting system, but within its entire construction. The article presents a dynamic model of a boom–type roadheader body. Four vibrating masses, representing the key subassemblies of the studied object and a seat together with a roadheader operator, are distinguished in a spatial physical model with a discrete structure. They are subject to the activity of an excitation from the loads generated in the cutting process. A mathematical model is comprised of 19 non-linear ordinary differential quotations of the second order. The model was implemented in the MATLAB/Simulink environment, in which a simulation model was created. The article presents the examples of results of numerical simulations using the established model.

Opis:
The FEM model of a violin resonance body presented in the article has been developed in order to simulate various issues in the field of violin dynamics and vibro-acoustics. All violin parts participating in the vibrations of the resonance body (solid and shell parts) are included in the model. Material properties and material orientation (anisotropy) of wood species used to make the violin parts have been taken into account in the model. Properties of spruce have been applied to the top plate (with f-holes) and solid parts. Properties of maple have been applied to the back plate, ribs and bridge. Two basic problems were considered: simulation and analysis of violin body vibrations in the cases of natural vibrations (*Frequency) and forced vibrations - excided by strings (*Steady-state dynamics). The results of simulations have been described and illustrated.
