    Opis:
    The Genealogies in the Book of Genesis present a challenge not only for common readers of the Holy Scripture but also for biblical scholars. For the former ones, their monotony slows down or even interrupts the flow of narration; for the latter ones, the genealogies’ monotonous rhythm can be a code to a theological enigma hidden in the holy text. One of the riddles in the genealogies of the Book of Genesis seems to be the shortening of human longevity between Gen 5 and Gen 11. Instead of looking for the causes of this process in human sinfulness or in human drifting apart from the garden of Eden, the author perceives this change as a result of God’s decision expressed in Gen 6:3.

    Opis:
    Celem artykułu jest analiza tekstów Rdz 1-11 pod katem zawartego w nich orędzia o postępie cywilizacyjnym ludzkosci. W pierwszej części autor analizuje tekst Rdz 1,26-28 w jego kontekscie literackim i teologicznym: człowiek jako "imago Dei" jest reprezentantem Boga na ziemi i panuje nad ziemia i zwierzetami. W kolejnym punkcie autor analizuje teksty obrazujace progresywny rozwój gospodarczy i kulturowy ludzdkości (zob. Rdz 4,2-4.17-22; 9,1-7.20-27; 11,1-9). Pytanie o granice i uwarunkowania władzy człowieka nad swiatem stworzonym zamyka refleksję nad twórczymi mozliwościami człowieka jako reprezentanta Boga na ziemi.
    The aim of the paper is to explore the advancement of human civilization and the role and impact of human beings, who are to be dominant over animals and subdue the earth. The study is based on the texts of Gen 1–11. First, the author examines Gen 1:26-28 and the two important verbs “have dominion over” and “subdue” in their literary and theological contexts. Created man is an imago Dei and as such has domination over animals and the earth as a representative of God. The next step was to examine the biblical texts which illustrate the progressive, unrestricted growth of the economic and cultural possibilities of humankind (cf. Gen 4:2-4.17-22; 9:1-7, 20-27; 11:1-9). Finally, the author discusses the limitations and restrictions inherent in the progress of human civilization. The extraordinary potential of humankind has its limits, since humanity is only the ambassador of God on earth and thus executes duties in his name, while the earth itself is given to all of mankind and not to any one chosen nation or defined group.

    Organizacja kosmosu w wymiarze czasowym (temporalnym) wydaje się stanowić istotny, choć niekiedy ignorowany, element kapłańskiego opowiadania o stworzeniu (Rdz 1,1-2,4a). Jej logika opiera się na osi wyznaczonej przez pierwszy, czwarty, i siódmy dzień stworzenia: powstanie światła, stworzenie ciał niebieskich, wreszcie konsekrację szabatu. W artykule tym autor podejmuje krytyczną refleksję nad centralnym elementem osi, na której wspiera się temporalna organizacja kosmosu: opisem czwartego dnia stworzenia (Rdz 1,14-19). Analizując strukturalny i semantyczny wymiar opisu stworzenia ciał niebieskich autor uwypukla ich wyjątkowe miejsce i niepowtarzalną rolę w kapłańskim opowiadaniu o stworzeniu świata.
    The temporal organization of the cosmos seems to be an important, though sometimes ignored, element of the priestly creation narrative in Gen 1,1-2,4a. Its logic is based on the axis determined by the first, fourth, and seventh days of creation: the creation of luminaries, of celestial bodies, and finally the consecration of the Sabbath. In this article, the author takes up a critical reflection on the central element of the axis: the description of the fourth day of creation in Gen 1,14-19. In analyzing the structural and semantic dimensions of this text, the author emphasizes the unique place and role of the celestial bodies in the description of the created world.

    Nel Vangelo di Marco si trovano due dichiarazioni sulla relazione filiale di Gesu con Dio. Queste parole sono introdotte nella narrazione dalle locuzioni: »una voce divenne dai cieli« e »divenne una voce dalla nube«. Il contenuto stesso delle dichiarazioni viene studiato ampiamente e profondamente dagli esegeti. Le introduzioni narrative alle dichiarazioni meritano peró un'attenzione particolare. Lo studio mette in risalto la funzione pedagogica e mistagogica della presenza e dell'attivita della voce divina, sia quella pronunciata da Dio stesso su Gesu, che quella rivolta a Lui da Gesu morente, di rivelare l'identita di Gesu come figlio di Dio e di condurre i discepoli nella sua sequella a partecipare alla comunione divina, indisturbata da tutte le altre voci.

    In the present article, the author indicates the theme of God’s justice as a unifying thread of the Letter to the Romans. The analysis of the issue starts from a general overview of the idea of justice in the Greco-Roman culture, in the Old and New Testament. Next, the author presents the overall structure of the Letter to the Romans supplied with the distribution of the vocabulary of justice. The core of the article is the analysis of the differentiated argumentative parts of the letter (Rom 1–4; 5–8; 9–11) with the special attention paid to the issue of God’s justice. Paul presents it as the power of God that saves the humanity from the incoming judgment (Rom 1–4), as the giver of new life in the Spirit and freedom for the believers (Rom 5–8), and as the creative will of God that will not cease until it brings everybody, including Israel, to salvation (Rom 9–11). At every stage of his argument, the apostle stresses that throughout the whole history of mankind God’s justice remained faithful to its original plan of salvation revealed and disclosed in the Old Testament.
