    The mutual affecting of different limiters of capacity is a very important feature, which makes difficult the right appreciation of the transport systems. In most cases, there is no way to use procedures which define relations by correlation coefficients etc. Completely divergent character of limiters induce that only way of effective appreciation is modeling by Monte Carlo simulations.
    Wzajemne oddziaływanie różnych ograniczników przepustowości jest bardzo ważną cechą utrudniającą właściwą ocenę układów komunikacyjnych. W większości przypadków procedury określające powiązania za pomocą współczynników korelacji nie mają zastosowania itp. Całkowicie rozbieżny charakter występujących ograniczników powoduje, że jedyną drogą prowadzącą do skutecznej oceny staje się modelowanie symulacyjne Monte Carlo.

    Transport system is the key indicator of sustainable spatial development, because if it is ineffective it can render the economy, the environment, and society vul-nerable. Despite the large number of already existing research, the city transportation sys-tem’s development strategy design is still a relevant objective, because the existing ways and strategies of the transport development may not always be applicable in certain cir-cumstances. This article presents the possible ways of improvement of sustainability of the city transportation systems adapted in accordance with the peculiarities of Russian cit-ies. It is stated that when working out a city transportation system’s development strategy it is necessary to take into account all possible risks. According to the case study of Na-berezhnye Chelny city, all vulnerabilities of the system that today are typical almost for all Russian cities were analyzed, classification of risks was made, and means of their con-trol were suggested. Solutions proposed as a result of the SWOT-analysis can be used when developing transport strategies for other cities with similar specificity.

    The problem of real time cargo-flows management in the integrated production and transportation system on example of machine-building enterprise is viewed optimal number of order cards in production and transportation system, which provides reduction in logistic costs. The building approach of membership function of linguistic terms, which characterize work-in-process level and waiting time, based on deterministic stock management model and queuing system is proposed.
    Рассмотрена проблема управления грузопотоками в производственно-транспортной системе в режиме реального времени на примере предприятия машиностроения. Разработана математическая модель принятия решений по управления грузопотоками, основанная на совместном применении теории нечетких множеств и теории вероятностей, позволяющая определять оптимальное количество карт-заказов, при котором логистические издержки в системе будут минимальными. Предложен подход к построению функций принадлежностей терм-множеств лингвистических переменных, характеризующих уровень запаса и время ожидания в системе, основанный на вероятностной модели управления запасами и теории систем массового обслуживания.

    Land-sea transport chains constitute a key part of the Europe’s economy, as a significant part of its trade is carried out using sea transport. Transport, storage, or delivery processes carried out within these chains are characterized by specified economic and technical efficiency, which often does not take into consideration the external costs these processes generate. Therefore, there is a need for further changes in the European land-sea transport chains, the aim of which should be a further reduction of the negative influence of transport on the society and the environment, in accordance with the assumptions adopted under the EU's sustainable development policy. The article examines the land-sea freight transport chains in terms of the EU's sustainable development goals on the example of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship (ZV), Poland. The region was selected owing to two key factors. First, the transport chains across the region are typical for many European areas. Second, the region itself has experienced intensive development of the Transport, Shipping and Logistics (TSL) sector and a numer of changes in freight flows for several years. The main goal of the article was to identify the possibility of reducing external costs resulting from the use of combined transport solutions in ZV. Two case studies were analyzed for this purpose. In both of them, the assumed effect was the reduction of external costs of freight transport in ZV. The potential reduction of external costs generated by cargo transport in ZV was estimated on the basis of the European methodology in terms of the amount of external costs generated by individual modes and means of transport. The research showed that the implementation of combined transport in ZV can bring measurable benefits to the region. The analyses also allowed for the identification of technical and organizational activities that are crucial for ZV and make it possible to reduce negative transport effects.

    Vulnerability of a transportation network influences, importantly, the function of public service systems constituted on the network. To be able to study the importance of an individual network arc for proper functionality of the system, we suggested a characteristic function of the arc transit time elongation together with its upper and lower estimations. We also suggested and verified an algorithm that enables the determination of parameters of the characteristic estimation, and we provide a reader with a computational study performed with real road networks.

    Intelligent information and analytical basis of a modern transport system is a prerequisite for efficient functioning of the digital economy. Modern transport systems are based on new intelligent technologies and new organizational principles, which is why the functions and competences of specialists in transportation are changing very rapidly. This paper substantiates the need and reveals the content of new competencies of specialists for modern transport systems, which should be ready to take into account many different factors, process large amounts of information and solve multi-criteria tasks in transport companies for all management functions. Creation of digital analytical competency for transportation systems represents a new direction of the educational and training programs that must include courses in modern assessment and forecasting methods, big data operation, machine learning, neuron networks and other approaches in artificial intelligence area. This article describes a new approach to the teaching of transportation system analysts that is able to solve various types of tasks to implement Industry 4.0 elements in transportation as examples.

    Rational management of transport has a major impact on the cost of the business. The starting point for this can be a forecast of demand for the products. This paper presents the process of planning of transportation of shipments based on the forecast of the orders. The monthly quantity of shipments during the 36 months was analysed. A periodic variation of this quantity was observed. The forecast for the next two months was determined using a triple exponential smoothing method. Parameters of the method were determined analytically and using artificial immune systems. In the latter case the smoothing constant and the initial values of the model were determined by optimizing the root mean square error (RMSE) "ex-post". The results were subsequently compared. A smaller error was obtained using artificial immune systems. Then the demand for transport was calculated basing on the forecast quantity of shipments.
    Racjonalne gospodarowanie środkami transportu ma duży wpływ na koszty firmy. Podstawą do tego może być wykonanie prognozy popytu na produkty firmy. W artykule przedstawiono proces zaplanowania przewozów przesyłek do odbiorców na podstawie prognozy ilości przesyłek. Po wstępnej analizie rozkładu miesięcznej ilości przesyłek w okresie 36 miesięcy zaobserwowano okresową zmienności tej ilości. Prognozę na kolejne 3 miesiące wyznaczono stosując addytywną metodę Wintersa. Parametry metody wyznaczano analitycznie, a następnie stosując sztuczne systemy immunologiczne. W tym drugim przypadku stałe wygładzania i wartości początkowe modelu były wyznaczane na drodze optymalizacji pierwiastka błędu średniokwadratowego (RMSE) „ex post”. Wyniki porównano. Mniejszy błąd otrzymano stosując sztuczne systemy immunologiczne. Następnie wyznaczono zapotrzebowanie na transport na podstawie prognozowanej ilości przesyłek.
