Opis:
Simulation programs are a useful and effective tool for analysis of projects requiring high investment costs, studies to improve the functioning of an existing system, and the analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency. They make it possible to control of system or substructure by less investment cost. Simulation models are often used in port modeling, capacity analysis, queue size and port efficiency. In this study, simulation model of loading terminals of the BOTA? Ceyhan pipeline were done. For this reason, AWESIM simulation program was used. This modeling evaluated for 365 days and each ship has approached the port with intervals of 12-24, 12-36, 24-36 and 24-48 hours. Stormy days in a year have been assumed as 30. Each ship demands trailer and pilotage service when approaching and leaving the port. In this simulation model; ship types, capacities, coming frequencies, loading times, maneuvering time and transportation capacity of BOTA? Ceyhan Marine Terminal were investigated.

Opis:
The simulation as a tool for the design of port and terminals has emerged as an answer for the demand to enhance the quality and reliability of the project results. Very high costs of the project solution implementation and practically total lack of liquidity of transport infrastructure objects always induced the immense commercial risks in the terminal business. Lately these risks have multiplied significantly due to rapid changes on the global and regional markets of transport services. Today, many experts come to see this volatility as an indicator of the next phase in development of the global trade system and the derivative cargo transportation system, specifically the state of temporal saturation. The shift of the global goods volumes from quick and steady growth to relatively small fluctuations around constant values causes quick oscillations in re-distribution of demand over the oversized supply. This new business and economic environment seriously affected the paradigm of transport terminal design and development techniques. The new operational environment of terminals put a request for the designers to arrange the results not in terms of “point”, but in terms of “functions”. Eventually it resulted in development of the modern object-oriented model approach. The wide spread of this approach witnesses the objective demand for this discipline, while in many aspects it remains in the intuitive (pre-paradigmal) phase of its development. The main reason for it is in the problem definition itself, which usually is formulated as the simulation of a given terminal. At the same time, the task is to assess the operational characteristics of the terminal engaged in processing of a given combination of cargo flows. Consequently, it is not the terminal that should be simulated, but the processes of cargo flows handling performed by this terminal under investigation. Another problem that restricts the practical spread of simulation is in the model adequacy. A model which adequacy is not proved has no gnoseological value at all. The paper describes the approach aimed at development of the models with the features discussed above.

Opis:
Recently, the submarine missions are often evolving into operating to littoral areas, which require operating in shallow water. Such shallow water operations strongly contrast with the traditional ones due to the effect of a close to free water surface expressed mainly by surface suction force. This influence is particularly important for submarine maneuverability accounting for restricted area available. The prediction of submarine behavior in similar conditions requires adequate mathematical model and understanding of the additional hydrodynamic load generated near the surface region. The paper is aimed for better understanding of these issues and relating to development of a submarine simulation model, the experimental program of towing and PMM captive tests of DARPA Suboff submarine model were conducted at a towing tank. The influence of phenomenon such as effect of a close to free surface and Froude number at hydrodynamic forces and moments including control surfaces effectiveness were investigated and also was estimated directional stability of motion in horizontal plane.

Opis:
The box selectivity in operational stack of container terminal is a quite common and long studied question. The pure random choice is governed by the theory of probability offering some combinatorial estimations. The introduction of operational rules like import/export separation, storage by shipping lines, sorting by rail or truck transportation etc., as well as the most notorious ‘sinking’ effect, i.e. covering of boxes arrived earlier by next cargo parties – all these blur the clear algebraiс picture and lead to appearance of many heuristic outlooks of the problem. A new impetus to this problem in last decades was given by the rapid development of IT, AI and simulation techniques. There are quite many examples of the models described in the scientific publication reflecting many real and arbitrary terminals, which embed very advanced and complicated mechanisms reflecting selected features and strategies. Unfortunately, these models usually are created ad hoc, with some pragmatic objectives and under the demand of closest possible proximity to the simulating objects. There are much less models designated to pure scientific study of the deep inner mechanisms responsible for the primal behavior of the operating container stack, enabling to introduce step by step new rules and restrictions, providing regular proving of every next stage’s adequacy and easy to use. This paper describes one attempt of this kind to create a new theoretical tool to put into the regular toolkit of the container terminal designer. The study starts with mathematical (combinatorial) considerations, proceeds with some restrictions caused by physical and technological characteristics, and ends up with the simulation model, which adequacy is confirmed by practical results.

The main goal of this task was a calculation of the two multivariable regulators for precise steering of a real, floating, training ship. The first one minimized the H2 norm of the closed-loop system. The second one was related to the Hinf norm. The robust control approach was applied in this controller with the usage of the structured singular value concept. Both controllers are described in the first part of the paper. Details of the training vessel and its simulation model then are presented. The state model of the control object obtained via identification process is described in the next section. This model with matrices weighting functions was the base for creation of ’the augmented state model’ for the open-loop system. The calculation results of the multivariable controllers is also shown in this section. Several simulations were performed in order to verify the control quality of both regulators. Exemplary results are presented at the end of this paper together with final remarks.

Opis:
The aim of this paper was to describe the random phase of the E6 signal, the Galileo satellite navigation system. Based on the available information, mathematical models of the measurement signals of the Galileo system were created. The frequencies of individual signals were determined and their structure visualized. A block diagram of the generation of individual signals is also shown. The main contribution of the paper is the creation of a random phase model of the E6 signal from the Galileo system. In accordance with the technical data of the Galileo system, the parameters of the random phase model were determined. The simulation results confirmed that the frequency instability of the continuous signal E6 n received from the satellite is a stationary process. The short-term stability of the frequency ranges from 10-13 to 10-14. The simulation results confirmed that the Doppler effect significantly affects the random phase of the E6 signal. This phenomenon can affect the results of navigation measurements using the E6 signal. The modeling and simulation results of the random phase of the E6 signal presented in the paper can be used to evaluate the immunity of the Galileo navigation system to interference.

The level of education of seafarers currently depends among other things on the use of simulators in the training process. The reliability of the computer simulation depends on several factors such as own ship models or virtual training areas. Currently available software on the market allows you to edit and create virtual areas for specific manoeuvring trials. Having a faithful copy of a real basin is an important element of harbour pilots courses or in carrying out a wide range of navigational analyses. In this paper the authors describe the process of creating Container Terminal T2 at DCT Gdańsk in the simulator environment.

A smart solution for assessing the consequences of pollution on the coast, on flora and fauna but also by accounting for the total costs of the equipment used in the response to pollution is a system for assessing, coordinating and simulating the risk situation with the help of a mathematical model implemented on a simulator. The mathematical model for the simulation of the event of pollution is the latest generation and take into account all the meteorological factors of the sea and air, as well as all the physico-chemical parameters of the substances involved (dispersion, surface tension). The simulator is used for the realistic modeling of a crisis situation and it is useful for both marine officers and emergency situation officials. The simulator will be used as an educational instrument enabling the interactive study of the different emergency situations. In this paper we present the simulation of incident and the creation of response resources. The scenario incident is for KAPTAN M cruise ship that left the tourist port of TOMIS Constanta, Romania, having on board 20 passengers and a number of 15 crew members, and which collided with the oil ship EVIA Oil FIVE, having on board the quantity of 4200 MT crude oil. As a result of the collision, the passenger ship suffered a breach (water hole), on the starboard board, breach by which the ship began to ambarce sea water and in the car compartment a fire was produced. Containment and recovery of an oil spill during the exercise will be simulated through activation and control of response resources. The resources involved in the operations are divided into: platforms, equipment and personnel. The results of simulation is the list of response resources specified in the scenario together with their parameters, which can be exported into a text file. With this simulation tools you can efficiently appreciate the cost of resources in due time, avoiding material and human damage.

The experimental investigation of sloshing loads in ships’ tank is characterized and the need for description of mutual influence is underlined. The model of interaction is made up for rectangular ship’s tanks and it is assumed to be in time-domain and nonlinear. The solution is based on the data obtained by the experimental research and numerical simulation. The study may be the contribution to more sophisticated estimation of ship’s stability than it takes place nowadays.
