    Teaching of the moral theology at the seminary in Diocese of Siedlce 1818-2018 Tis article concerns the teaching of the moral theology at the seminary in Diocese of Siedlce over the last 200 years and consists of three parts. Te frst part shows the histo-rical context of the moral theology in the 18th and 19th century. Te second one discusses the ways of teaching moral theology in the seminary of Janów Podlaski – frst capitol of Diocese – from the beginning to the liquidation of Diocese in 1867. Te last part presents the ways of teaching moral theology afer second establishment, which took place in 1918, up to now. Te presented overview of the moral education issues at the seminary in Sie¬dlce during the 19th century shows that essentially it is the legalistic theology. However, it is already situated in the perspective of the emerging renovation that has become frmly established at the Church afer Vatican Council II, which took place in the frst half of the 20th century.

    Pastoral theology in Teological Seminary in Siedlce Pastoral theme was present since the very beginning of Church’s existence. Te attention was paid mainly to practical preparation to ministry until the end of XVIIIth century. Year 1777 is considered to be the beginning of pastoral theology as a university dyscypline. Tere was a strong politial impact that infuenced its development- a priest was supposed to be mostly a civil servant. Janowska Diocese was created in 1818, it had its own seminary. Pastoral theology was among subjects that were taught. Tsarist authorities closed the diocese in 1867 and as a result, seminary was closed as well. In 1918 Janowska Diocese was recreated, with its own seminary. Trought next years and in the postwar time „Pastoral Teology Handbook” was helpful to lecturers of pastoral theology. Bishop Jan Mazur took care of practical dimension in pastoral education. Te achievements of postwar pastoral theology, especially afer Second Vatican Council were shown by profesor Ryszard Kamiński and his successors. Te handbook „Pastoral Teology” as an actual help in pastoral theology classes.
    Tematyka pastoralna od początku istnienia Kościoła była w nim obecna. Do końca XVIII wieku zwracano przede wszystkim uwagę na praktyczne przygotowanie do duszpasterstwa. Rok 1777 to początek teologii pastoralnej jako dyscypliny uniwersyteckiej. Na jej początkowy rozwój silny wpływ miał czynnik polityczny. Duszpasterz miał być przede wszystkim urzędnikiem państwowym. W 1818 r. powołano do istnienia diecezję janowską, która posiadała własne seminarium. Wśród wykładanych przedmiotów była również teologia pastoralna. Władze carskie dokonały kasaty diecezji w 1867 r., a w związku z tym zlikwidowano również seminarium. W 1918 r. wskrzeszono diecezję janowską, a następnie seminarium. Przez długie lata Podręcznik teologii pasterskiej służył pomocą wykładowcom teologii pastoralnej. Również w okresie powojennym służył pomocą w wykładach. Bp Jan Mazur troszczył się o praktyczny wymiar w kształceniu pastoralnym. Osiągnięcia powojennej, a zwłaszcza po soborowej teologii pastoralnej ukazywał ks. prof. dr hab. Ryszard Kamiński oraz jego następcy. Podręcznik Teologia pastoralna stanowi pomoc w prowadzeniu zajęć z teologii pastoralnej.

    Teaching liturgy in Teological Seminary in the Diocese of Siedlce Liturgical formation of alumni is an important dimension of their seminary for-mation. It is based on the tight connection of the knowledge about the mysteries of sal-vation and personal experiencing the presence of resurrected Jesus Christ in faith. Te in-ternal life of alumni is enriched by the grace of the Sacraments. Over two hundred years of the existence of the Diocese of Siedlce, the candidates for priesthood encountered diferent conceptualizations of liturgy. Afer the Vatican Council II it is understood as a form of mystagogy in saving deeds of incarnated Son of God. Liturgy not only passes the knowledge about His saving presence in liturgical activities but it also leads people to a personal meeting with the resurrected Jesus Christ, especially in sacramental communion.
    Liturgiczna formacja alumnów jest jednym z istotnych wymiarów ich formacji semi¬naryjnej. Polega ona na ścisłej łączności wiedzy o misteriach zbawienia z osobistym doświad¬czaniem w wierze obecności zmartwychwstałego Chrystusa. Życie wewnętrzne alumna jest 60 „Niekiedy dochodzi do tego, że w samo sprawowanie Ofary Eucharystycznej zostają włączone pewne elementy zapożyczone z nowenn lub innych nabożeństw. Stąd rodzi się niebezpieczeństwo, że Pamiątka Pana nie będzie już stanowić szczytowego momentu spotkania wspólnoty chrześcijańskiej, lecz będzie jakby pewną okazją do odprawienia nabożeństwa należącego do pobożności ludowej. Tym, którzy tak postępują, chcemy przypomnieć normę soboru, według której nabożeństwa winno się uzgadniać z liturgią, bynajmniej zaś nie mieszać z nią”, Paweł VI, Adhortacja Apostolska Marialis cultus (2.02.1974), nr 31. 34 Nauczanie Liturgiki w Wyższym Seminarium Duchownym diecezji siedleckiej zasilane łaską sakramentów świętych. Kandydaci do kapłaństwa, na przestrzeni dwustu lat istnienia diecezji siedleckiej, spotykali się z różnymi ujęciami liturgiki. Po soborze watykań¬skim II jest ona rozumiana jako forma mistagogii w czyny zbawcze wcielonego Syna Bożego. Liturgika nie tylko przekazuje wiedzę o Jego zbawczej obecności w czynnościach liturgicz¬nych, ale prowadzi człowieka do osobistego i osobowego spotkania ze zmartwychwstałym Chrystusem, zwłaszcza w Komunii sakramentalnej.

    Lectures on psychology at the theological seminary of diocese of siedlce Te author undertakes to present the history of psychology understood as a feld of science and reveals its place in the area of formation of candidates for the priesthood on the example of Diocese of Siedlce. In a brief outline, he shows the development of the science, its particular schools and major modalities. He points at emerging new views, giving an overview of ways to practice contemporary psychology. Based on the source data, he presents the history of lectures on psychology for seminary students conducted in Diocese of Siedlce, and presents the lecturers. In the last part, going on the ofcial statements of the Magisterium of the Church, he presents two ways of the presence of psychological activities in formation to the priesthood and presents their practical application to the emerging new pastoral and disciplinary challenges.

    This article shows the teaching and evolution of the practice of the sacraments of Christian Initiation in the Church of Siedlce. Through this article was shown the development of this practice, which in the diocese evolved over many years, so it could reach the current shape of the entire process of Christian Initiation. Under the pastoral care of Bishop Zbigniew Kiernikowski, the attempt was made to create a program of preparation for the catechumenate of adults and unbaptized children of catechetical age. Candidate for initiation walked the path towards initiation by different degrees and stages. The climax point of the preparation process was the celebration of the sacraments of initiation at the Easter Vigil at the Cathedral of Siedlce. The reflection on the sacraments of Christian Initiation exposes a gradual but deeper entering into the paschal mystery of Christ. It was emphasized that it is not enough to receive the sacraments of Christian Initiation, but to enter into the Christian way of life. It is therefore necessary to carry out the formation of adults in the form of pre-baptismal and post-baptismal catechumenate. The development of the practice to administer the sacraments of Christian Initiation indicates that the theology of the sacraments and subsequent recommendations were read correctly in order to bring people to a mature faith in the modern world.

    A teaching of general metaphysics and the philosophy of God in the Major Sem-inary of the Diocese of Siedlce, 1919 – 2018 Afer the revival of the Siedlce Seminary in 1919, metaphysics was frst taught as a part of the philosophy course according to the handbook Elementa philosophiae scholasticae of S. Reinstadler in the spirit of traditional thomism. Afer Te Second World War, from the 1960s, the teaching refers to the way of practicing metaphysics in the Lublin School of existential thomism. Today, it is also enriched with references to analytical thomism. Te main topics of the lecture are consistent with the classical, scholastic form of metaphysics presentation: 1. Te problem of being 2. Transcendental properties and frst principles 3. Te structure of being (act and potency, substance and accidents, form and matter, essence and existence) 4. Te analogy of being (especially in relation to existential thomism). Te content of the lecture on natural theology (theodicy) also refects the scholastic tradition and covering the metaphysics of the First Reason (existence and nature of the Absolute) and the theological consequences resulting from it.
    Po odrodzeniu Seminarium Siedleckiego w 1919 Metafzyka była najpierw wykładana w ramach kursu flozofi według podręcznika S. Reinstadlera Elementa philosophiae scholasticae w duchu tomizmu tradycyjnego. Po wojnie, od lat 60-tych wykład nawiązuje do sposobu uprawiania metafzyki w Szkole Lubelskiej tomizmu egzystencjalnego. Współcześnie jest też wzbogacony odniesieniami do tomizmu analitycznego. Główne tematy wykładu są zgodne z klasyczną, scholastyczną formą prezentacji metafzyki: 1. Problem bytu 2. Własności transcendentalne i pierwsze zasady 3. Struktura bytu (akt i możność, substancja i przypadłości, forma i materia, istota i istnienie) 4. Zagadnienie analogii bytowej (szczególnie w odniesieniu do tomizmu egzysten-cjalnego) Treść wykładu z teologii naturalnej (teodycei) również odzwierciedla tradycję scholastyczną i obejmuje zagadnienia metafzyki Racji Ostatecznej (istnienie i natura Absolutu) oraz wynikające z niej konsekwencje teologiczne.

    Niniejsze opracowanie przedstawia rozwój kultu Błogosławionych Męczenników z Pratulina. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano krótką historię procesu beatyfikacyjnego. Następnie autor omówił powstałe inicjatywy duszpasterskie związane z kultem Błogosławionych, m.in. powstanie Stowarzyszenia Pamięci Unitów Podlaskich „Martyrium” i Fundacji „Arka”, Diecezjalnej Rodziny Szkół im. Unitów Podlaskich oraz Bractwa „Strażnicy Kościoła”. W dalszej części artykułu zwrócono uwagę na rozwój sanktuarium pratulińskiego, liczne publikacje, wystawy, projekty filmowe poświęcone Unitom z Pratulina, a także uroczyste świętowanie kolejnych rocznic beatyfikacji. Wskazane inicjatywy i projekty są potwierdzeniem, że diecezja siedlecka zachowuje pamięć i rozwija duchowe dziedzictwo Unitów Podlaskich.
    This study presents the development of the cult of the Blessed Martyrs of Pratulin. The first part of the article presents a short history of the process of beatification. Then the author discussed the pastoral initiatives related to the cult of the Blesseds, e.g. founding of the Memory Association of Pratulin Martyrs "Martyrium" and the "Arka" Foundation, the Diocesan Family of Schools identified with Martyrs of Podlasie and the Brotherhood "Guardians of the Church". In the further part of the article, attention is paid to the development of the Sanctuary of Pratulin, numerous publications, exhibitions, film projects dedicated to the Blessed Units of Podlasie, as well as the solemn celebration of beatification anniversaries. The indicated initiatives and projects confirm that the diocese of Siedlce preserves the memory and develops the spiritual heritage of the Blessed Martyrs of Podlasie.

    Te Holy Scriptures Lectures at the St. John Paul II Major Seminary of the Dio-cese of Siedlce from 1918 to 2018 Tis article was intended to show how the St. John Paul II Major Seminary of the Diocese of Siedlce over the last hundred years fulflled the basic requirement of formation for the priesthood, which is the intellectual introduction of alumni into the knowledge of the Holy Scriptures. In the 20th century, the Church in Poland experienced many dif-fculties connected above all with the First and Second World Wars and the communist regime. Nevertheless, the seminary of the Diocese of Siedlce, thanks to the continuous reading of the current Magisterium’s guidelines and the involvement of more and more educated lecturers, constituted an environment for preparing alumni for the demanding and responsible ministry of the Word.

    Te teaching of the canon law in the Major Seminary of the diocese of Siedlce in the years 1918-2018. Te draf of the problem Te subject of the scientifc article is the teaching of canon law in the Major Seminary of the diocese of Siedlce in the years 1918-2018. Te author uses the historical-legal and dogmatic-legal method. Te author analyzes the teaching of canon law in the context of intellectual and pastoral formation, which are involved in the preparation of the can-didates for the ordination of the presbyterate. Te study of the canon law has always been one of the basis for the priesthood’s instrumentarium. Te author analyzes the norms of canon law, which form the basis for the teaching of the canon law in the Siedlce seminary, presents scientifc profles of seminar lecturers, textbooks and didactics. Te teaching of the canon law was based in 1917 on the Codex Iuris Canonici, and from 1983 on the Code of Canon Law, whose norms are interpreted in the light of the ecclesiology of the Vaticanum Secundum.
    Przedmiotem artykułu jest nauczanie prawa kanonicznego w Wyższym Seminarium Duchownym diecezji siedleckiej w latach 1918-2018. Autor używa metody historyczno-prawnej i dogmatyczno-prawnej. Autor nauczanie prawa kanonicznego rozpatruje w kontekście formacji intelektualne i duszpasterskie, które składają się na przygotowanie kandydatów do święceń prezbiteratu. Studium prawa kanonicznego zawsze należało do podstawowego instrumentarium kapłańskiego. Autor analizuje normy prawa kanonicznego, stanowiące podstawę nauczania prawa kanonicznego w siedleckim seminarium duchownym, przedstawia naukowe sylwetki seminaryjnych wykładowców, podręczniki oraz Nauczanie prawa kanonicznego w WSD diecezji siedleckiej w latach 1918-2018. Zarys problematyki dydaktykę. Nauczanie prawa kanonicznego opierało się od 1917 r. na Codex Iuris Canonici, a od 1983 r. na Kodeksie Prawa Kanonicznego, którego normy są interpretowane w świetle eklezjologii Vaticanum Secundum.

    Tis article discusses the history of apologetics and fundamental theology as they have been taught in the Diocese of Siedlce’s Major Seminary since its founding in 1819 to the present day. Te author refers to historical sources and works in order to present pro-fles of the professors who taught these subjects, the trajectories of their academic careers, their teaching styles, as well as their academic achievements. Tis article also presents the textbooks and other materials that have been used in the seminary to teach these two disciplines that employ diferent methodological approaches but have the same academic aim, which is to study the credibility of Divine Revelation, meaning the fact that God ex-ists, His nature, and how He conveys Himself and remains within the Church.

    Opis:
    Te study for the research on the catechetical instruction in Teological Semi-nary in Siedlce. In this report some possible research ways and areas of catechetics are presented. First the history of Teological Seminary in the Diocese of Siedlce ( previously Diocese of Szkic do badań nad nauczaniem katechetycznym w Seminarium Duchownym diecezji siedleckiej Janów Podlaski) was presented. Ten three stages of catechetical instruction in this seminary were discussed: stage 1 - from the beginning of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, stage 2 - from the resurrection of the diocese and reactivation of the seminary to the end of Te Second Vatican Council and stage 3 - from the end of Te Second Vatican Council until now. Synodal instruction as an area of forming alumns and presbyters of the Church in Siedlce was considered.
