- Occurrence of Phytophthora spp. in soils of 21 forest nurseries and colonisation of Betula pendula, Fagus sylvatica, Picea abies by isolates of P. cactorum, P. cinnamomi and P. plurivora from different host plants and water were studied. The presence of already mentioned species and P. gonapodyides were noticed in 2/3 of surveyed nurseries with domination of P. cactorum and P. plurivora. All isolates used colonised tissues of tested plants in vitro. In greenhouse trial the isolate of. P. cactorum from pansy did not cause any symptoms on spruce and the disease occurred only sporadically on beech seedlings.
