One of the basic foundation of this study is to acknowledge the official statement as a macroact of a speech, established from specyfic foundations, intentions and attitude of its sender. In this essay there are talked over only the legal macroacts (connected with the normative action of the State organs). Theirs basic elements are creative and directive microacts. In the legal macroacts of a general significance they are both equal to each other, while in the macroacts of an indyvidual significance the creative microact is taking the rule of presupposition - the law base, which is refered by the civil servants. All of the official acts of a speech are connected by the initial terms (person who makes the act has to be authorized), nevertheless they are differed in the basic terms i.e. intentions of a act’s sender. For most of them characteristic is the agreement between literal value and a real intention of the statement.

Opis:
In the office world time runs in a different way than in the world. of colloquial expe- rience. Untargeted texts (legał texts) project futurę events; therefore a considerable num- ber of office utterances is formed in a futurę tense. In legał utterances there is actually only a relative time i.e. as far as time is concemed, an event may be presented only in re- ference to a different event and time period between them, and not through a datę (an ab- solute time moment). The absolute time appears only in the regulations determining the datę when a given legał act comes into force.On the other hand, in office letters, the absolute time (the calendar time) dominates, which is connected with a documenting function of these texts. Time dating is connected with factography and further proceedings. Time deixis is expressed in the form of nume- rals indicating a day, a month and a year, or in the form of adverbs (e.g. immediately, promptly etc.)

There are two dates of particular importance for Polish collective memory, namely 11November 1918 – the day of the regaining of independence after 123 years of partitions, and 4 June 1989 – the day which started the process of Poland regaining its full internal and external sovereignty. These two turning points determine the beginnings of the respective discourses on the directions of changes in the political systems of the Second and Third Republics. This paper focuses on the discourses concerning the political systems during the periods of transition and is based on the content of The March Constitution of 1921 and The Constitution of the Republic of Poland of 1997. A basic law is a text of fundamental importance for any country as it establishes the principles of its organisation, regulates the functioning of its institutions and determines the position of the citizen vis-à-vis the state. It is also a testimony to various understandings of the notion of nation and to a considerable extent determines a sense of national and state community as well as citizens’ collective ememory.

The aim of this paper is to indicate the most important elements of the communicative and cultural context, which exert influence on the official discourse in Poland.Initially, the Roman culture had strongly influenced the shaping of the Polish official discourse; after this, it was the culture of the countries that partitioned Poland, and nowadays, especially after Poland’s accession to the European Union, it is the AngloSaxon culture. The influences of these cultures may be seen in the genre templates of the official documents, as well as in the broadening of the communicative roles and inthe changes of the relations between the discourse subjects. The adoption of the concept of good governance, i.e., the administration which is friendly to citizens and different entities, is of considerable significance in the adjustment of Polish offices to the EU standards.

This paper is an attempt to show the axiological dimension of the currently binding basic law, i.e. the Constitution of the Republic of Poland of 1997. The text of the constitution is a carrier of the values important to Poles, and it is predisposed to this by its specific content, a superior position in the hierarchy of normative acts and a high social authority. The information about the most important values is already provided by the constitutional introduction (preamble) – it includes the most important values of the entire community of the state expressis verbis. In terms of values, the author tries to read and interpret the general principles of the constitution (the constitutional principles of law) and the chapter on the freedoms and rights of persons and citizens. The basic principles of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland are: the principle of a democratic state ruled by law and the tripartite separation of powers, and the priority value is man, his freedom and dignity, as well as the common good of all citizens. These values result from the adopted concept of a democratic state of law.

The aim of this paper is to make an attempt to determine the status of language in the ad- ministrative-legal language communication sphere and a proposal for an intemal diffe- rentiation of this variety of Polish.The author supports the tradition of using the name administrative variant as the one of higher order to all the expressions servicing this sphere, and to distinguish within its scope the following: the legał subvariant as the central one (law is the broadest framework of administrative activities), the office subvariant and the rhetoric subvariant. Each of them may have a further differentiation depending on the assumed criteria.
