    Opis:
    The present paper comes in the wake of ‘Discours 2000’ conference. It aims at the synthesis of anti-Semitic verbal acts showing an entrenchment in linguistic stereotypes picked put in Polish and French web forums. A bundle of anti-Semitic interpretations have been selected from discussions dealing with acclaimed cases of Dominique Strauss-Kahn. It is demonstrated how a given speech act can be knowingly complemented with extra-verbal elements so that its interpretation becomes unambiguous. The examples brought under discussion show to what extent the linguistic concept of Jews is ingrained in today’s culture.

    The article presents that the sense of verbal-visual messages is a result of various relations between text and images (parallel, supplementing and interpretative meaning, equivalence and contradiction). The author tries to show what type of relations is present in the French-German news that has to be translated for foreign recipient and to observe how images can influence the decisions of a translator in this type of texts.

    The aim of this article is to illustrate the complexities of relations at the level of verbal communication between two separate environments: patients and physicians. Many terms used while addressing physicians are related to and depend on their professional activities. The way of expressing thoughts and the choice of lexical items reflect emotional states and reactions to certain facts and standards of behaviour. We know of many possible linguistic reactions to specific real-life situations and the choice of lexical items depends upon both sociolinguistic factors (level of education of the speaker, place of residence, means of communications) as well as morphological factors (morphological processes) and semantic factors (using metaphoric expressions).

    In this paper we intend to investigate the three elements of the Spanish verb system, ie. infinitive (cantar), present and past participles (cantando, cantado). We will find out the changes undergone by these grammatical forms and their function during medieval Spanish.     An insult is one of the cases of verbal aggression and undoubtedly it is an everyday life phenomenon. Insulting is a display of direct aggression which arises from anger and aims at the effect on the recipient’s mind. The act of abuse on the other hand, is conditioned by multiple factors. Its success depends, for example, on the knowledge of culture to which the recipient of an insult belongs. Despite the fact that an insult is a cultural phenomenon, i.e. dependent on a particular culture, the mechanism of abuse itself is identical in the entire world. Generally, it is possible to determine a list of universal human disabilities which are subject to insults as well as a universal list of topic areas of insulting expressions.

    Opis:
    The definition of aspect as a semantic category enables aspectual analysis of the NP to be carried out. Noun phrases are viewed as aspectually equivalent to VPs. In both cases, the analyses are likely to be conducted along the same set of principles of aspectual decomposition. The point is to ascertain whether and how the category of aspect may contribute to the contrastive description of articles between  a language with no articles and an article-language.

    Boccaccio’s Decameron is, as we know, the supreme achievement of the medieval narratio brevis. The art of speaking and, in general, of the proficient use of words, is what distinguishes the “gentile brigata” of ten young men and women who articulate and advance the new ars narrandi. Its role is crucial in many of the novellas in The Decameron: thanks to their capacity to persuade, or rather to manipulate their listeners verbally, many of its male and female protagonists manage to avoid dangers and unpleasant situations, or to get what they want: love, money, or other advantages. Particularly two of the male protagonists, ser Ciappelletto and frate Cipolla, excel others in verbal fraud and mockery. The anonymous protagonist of the third novella of the Third Day is neither as famous nor as examined by critics, even though she is very clever in her rhetorical and theatrical skills. The purpose of this essay is to analyse the strategies of verbal and emotional manipulation which lead her to seduce a “valoroso uomo di mezza età” with the involuntary help of the simple-minded and credulous friar.

    The subject of this article is part of research trying to identify in a textual genre lexico-syntactic constructions with generic markers value. The analysis focuses on the linguistic expression of the manifestation of the blushing body in two textual genres: the detective novel and the romance novel. The aspectual value of these constructions may be related to the textual genre in which they appear because it seems to guide the inferential mechanism in the discovery of implicit information.
