    Opis:
    The translation of humour is a challenge. It requires the accurate decoding of a humorous speech in its original context, the transfer of that speech in a different linguistic and cultural environment and its reformulation in a new expression, which recaptures the intention of the original message. The actual work attempts to present the nature of puns, which constitute one of the manifestations of humour in the literature, in its linguistic and cultural dimension. The study is based on a comparative analysis of examples of puns from Ostatnie życzenie of Andrzej Sapkowski and its Spanish translation. The results are compared in terms of equivalence in linguistic, stylistic and cultural properties to show a risk of loss of the transtextual and transcultural elements and the way of recompensing these elements by substitution, amplification and other rhetorical techniques.

    The conjunction como si select usually in the subordinated adverbial clauses (modal, conditional and comparative) the tenses of the subjunctive mood cantara / cantase and hubiera / hubiese cantado. However in some papers is mentioned the possibility of the construction of como si with the tenses of indicative mood. This paper contains the analysis of the modal selection after como si and, particularly, the possible substitution of subjunctive by the indicative tenses. The analyses is realized on the ground of the corpus of Real Academia Española (CORPES XXI, CREA, CREA. Versión anotada).

    Dealing with discourses produced in Contemporary Popular Music, it is usual in contemporary youth’s imaginary to find rock considered as metonymic with authenticity, remaining as a movement an outstanding extension of Romanticism. Then, when drawing out its motifs from Satanism, successful rock lyrics need a rhetorical stylization in order to construct persuading songs beyond traditional morals. The main goal of this article is to analyze and compare this kind of stylization in Rolling Stones’s Sympathy for the Devil and Jesucristo García, written by the Spanish band Extremoduro, taking them both as examples of popularized dramatic monologues that present the topic of attraction of Evil performed by devilish figures.

    The objective of the study is to delve into the main syntactic and semantic differences and similarities of the so-called verbs of knowledge, that is, the predicates, that denote the cognitive attitude of the sentence subject toward the acquaintance. The author will address the contrastive analysis of the main Spanish verbs –saber, conocer– with the corresponding Polish verbs –wiedzieć, znać, potrafić and umieć.
