Opis:: Modern cities are social and economic organisations whose objective is to cater for the needs of its users. The practices they employ in doing so are, however, a far cry from those used by businesses. A city would subject its economics to social and environmental conditions and thus elects the social objectives as prevalent. Urban logistics ties in perfectly with that, subscribing to social logistics each time when those objectives are achieved by shaping flows of materials and people. Logistics comes to the fore here, by facilitating deployment of correct, from viewpoint of shaping material flows, measures aimed at equal opportunities for elderly and disabled. Specific requirements, with which urban spaces should be compliant to honour the needs of seniors and disabled, were described in the paper.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest ukazanie w historycznym kontekście potrzeby stosowania analiz problemów społecznych z wykorzystaniem map badawczych na rzecz planowania i zarządzania miastem, tym bardziej że współczesne technologie, w tym i smart city, umożliwiają liderom i społecznościom wykorzystanie bardzo zaawansowanych technologii cyfrowych. Zjawiska i problemy społeczne we współczesnym społeczeństwie to kluczowe informacje dla instytucji samorządów miejskich i gminnych, które planują procedury ich rozwiązywania i wsparcia dla mieszkańców w ramach nowocześnie rozumianej polityki społecznej i polityki miejskiej. W tym procesie inwentaryzacji, diagnozy zjawisk i problemów społecznych istotną i nowoczesną rolę odgrywają ich obrazy dystrybucji przestrzennej, czyli mapy. Umożliwiają obserwację współwystępowania zjawisk i problemów społecznych, ale także pozwalają prowadzić profesjonalnie planowanie społeczne. Tego typu mapy mają istotne funkcje z perspektywy smart city.
Transformation of Polish towns is filled up with the processes. Besides many advantages, there are also a lot of disadvantages of these changes which not always origin from proceeding reforms. However, all of them can be called phenomena and problems of social disorganisation. Diagnostic researches in the social institutions enable the research team to create a social illustration of population in dimension of all social phenomena and problems with their spatial distribution. Results of these analyses are to serve self-government of the towns in a planning process and creating the programmes of the town and its space development. No one can make plans of investments or design development strategy of social problems solving strategy without genuine diagnosis and analysis of actually existing treats for social order. The process leading from listing throughout diagnosis to strategy of social issues and problems solving seems to be the only way giving a guarantee of real problem solving for the local powers.
