Higher expectations of customers, similar product assortment and increasing competition, cause a decrease in the role of traditional factors associated with tangible assets for the growing importance of intangible assets. In order to maximise the company value, respondents indicated huge importance of knowledge and skills, as the most important components of intellectual capital. It cannot be simply replicate, moreover, they are closely to the employee and not the company, thus explain their importance in creating competitive advantage. Large enterprises indicate a chance to gain market advantage over its rivals in the area of the promotional activities, using well-known brand and – most of all – the ability to offer an attractive price offer. SMEs enterprises looking for sources of its competitiveness in other the area related to human resources, customer relationship.

Nowy model regulacji kapitałowych banku, określany potocznie jako Bazylea III, pomimo szeregu istotnych różnic w stosunku do wcześniejszych regulacji zmierza w kierunku dalszego zwiększenia udziału kapitału akcyjnego w finansowaniu banku. Rodzi to obawy o wywołanie zjawiska „credit crunch”, skutkującego spowolnieniem gospodarczym. Częściowym rozwiązaniem problemu mogłaby być próba włączenia długu do kapitału regulacyjnego banku. Celem opracowania jest wskazanie podstawowych przesłanek budowania struktury kapitałowej banku, a w szczególności wpływu czynników rynkowych i regulacyjnych na relację pomiędzy kapitałem akcyjnym a dłużnym w kapitale regulacyjnym banku.
Searching for a new framework of bank capital regulations, commonly referred to as Basel III, despite a number of significant differences in relation to the former regulation aims to further increase in contribution of equity capital in the bank’s capital. It raises concerns about the phenomenon of “credit crunch”, resulting in an economic slowdown. A partial solution to the problem could be an attempt to incorporate the debt to the bank’s regulatory capital. The aim of the study is to identify the basic premises of the bank’s capital structure and in particular the impact of market and regulatory factors on the relation of equity to debt capital in the bank’s regulatory capital.

Kapitały rezerwowe pełnią ważną rolę w spółkach kapitałowych jako rezerwuar dodatkowych zasileń po stronie własnych źródeł finansowania jednostki. Określa się je więc mianem rezerw kapitałowych. Ich wpływ ujawnia się w miarę rozwoju przedsiębiorstw, gdy wzrasta niepewność i ryzyko towarzyszące decyzjom podejmowanym nie tylko na szczeblu lokalnym, ale coraz częściej w wymiarze globalnym. W tej sytuacji szczególnego znaczenia nabiera obecność kapitału rezerwowego i jego odmian w stabilizacji działalności gospodarczej jednostek.
Capital reserves play an important role in companies as a source of additional entities owned funds. Hence, they are known as capital reserves. Their influence is revealed along with the development of enterprises, when uncertainty and risk accompanying decisions made at the local level, but more often on a global scale increases. In this situation, the presence of particular capital reserves and its variants for the stabilization of enterprises economic activity is of great importance.

Pozyskanie odpowiednich środków finansowania, w szczególności dla zapewnienia płynności finansowej dłużników w postępowaniu restrukturyzacyjnym jest podstawowym zadaniem przedsiębiorców prowadzących swoją działalność w warunkach konkurencyjnego rynku. Przyjęte w praktyce obrotu gospodarczego rozwiązania potwierdzają, że dla sfinansowania działalności przedsiębiorcy w postępowaniu restrukturyzacyjnym kluczową rolę odgrywają źródła o charakterze zewnętrznym – zarówno własne, jak i obce. Brak dostatecznej informacji i wiedzy uczestników postępowania o sposobach i formach pozyskiwania środków finansowych na restrukturyzację sprawia, że jest ona obarczona wysokim ryzykiem niepowodzenia. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest identyfikacja dostępnych źródeł finansowania restrukturyzacji w Polsce. Ponadto, wskazano, iż dostępność zewnętrznych źródeł finansowania przedsiębiorcy uczestniczącego w postępowaniu restrukturyzacyjnym pozwala na efektywną poprawę kondycji finansowej dłużnika i jego ochronę przed ogłoszeniem upadłości.
Restructuring procedure plays an important role in the market economy. The essential problem of entrepreneurs during the restructuring proceedings is to find the appropriate financing in a situation of lack of liquidity. The solutions seem to recognize that the restructuring of repair businesses should be financed first with available external resources – both own and foreign. Lack of sufficient information and knowledge about available methods and forms of fundraising makes the restructuring is subject to a high risk of failure. The aim of the study is to identify available sources of restructuring finance in Poland. In addition, the availability of external financing allows to improve the liquidity of the entrepreneur and protect it before the bankruptcy and liquidation of assets.

Artykuł podejmuje kwestię znaczenia wzajemnych relacji między kapitałem ludzkim oraz społecznym w stymulowaniu aktywności innowacyjnej (która stanowi przejaw inteligentnego rozwoju gospodarczego). W części empirycznej podjęto próbę oceny zakresu komplementarności kapitału ludzkiego oraz społecznego w krajach europejskich oraz rozpoznania charakteru związków występujących między wyposażeniem gospodarek w kapitał ludzki oraz społeczny a aktywnością innowacyjną przedsiębiorstw. Analizą objęto lata 2004-2012. Wykorzystano dane Eurostat, European Social Survey. Zastosowano analizę korelacji oraz metody taksonomiczne – porządkowania liniowego oraz aglomeracyjną Warda.
The article takes up the issue of the importance of mutual relations between human and social capital in stimulating innovative activities (which are the signs of the intelligent economic development). The empirical part attempts to assess the degree of complementarity of human and social capital among the European countries, as well as, to identify the nature of relations between the human and social capital and the innovative activities of enterprises. The analysis covers the period of 2004-2012 and uses data from Eurostat and the European Social Survey. The project utilizes a correlation analysis approach and the following taxonomic methods such as linear ordering and Ward’s agglomeration.

Although the WACC formula is well known to practitioners and theorists of finance, it appears that various techniques are requested by the literature to calculate the WACC, leading to different results. This paper reviews the literature dealing with company valuation and assessment of financial viability of investment and its intention is to summarise and structure the academics' views on calculating the weights used in the WACC. An essential trend in approaching this issue emerges from these views, which in some cases, however, in the author's opinion, leads to irrational financial decision-making.

The article contains characteristics of contemporary forms of the group work i.e. the process group work, project group work, group work as the moderation - situational and planned - group problem solving. Proces rozwoju współczesnych przedsiębiorstw jest warunkowany wieloma czynnikami, zarówno o charakterze wewnętrznym, jak i wynikających z otoczenia, w którym podmiot funkcjonuje. Jednym z czynników kształtujących sprawność organizacji, które funkcjonują w niepewnym i złożonym otoczeniu, są pracownicy, którzy powinni posiadać określone kompetencje, wiedzę teoretyczną, umiejętności praktyczne oraz wyznawać wartości, które w organizacji są uważane za istotne. Powszechnie wiadomo, że jakość kapitału ludzkiego, jak również umiejętne zarządzanie tym kapitałem stanowią w dzisiejszych czasach główny obszar budowania pozycji rynkowej przedsiębiorstw. Niniejsze opracowanie stanowi próbę oceny roli czynnika ludzkiego w rozwoju współczesnych firm sektora MŚP. Przeprowadzone analizy wskazują na bardzo dużą rolę czynnika ludzkiego w rozwoju małych i średnich firm na rynku. Przedsiębiorcy reprezentujący badane podmioty doceniają wagę tego czynnika i szacują, że w kolejnych latach kapitał ludzki będzie odgrywał jeszcze większą rolę w rozwoju ich firm.
The process of development of contemporary enterprises is conditioned by many factors, both interior as well as resulting from the environment in which the entity operates. One of the factors influencing the efficiency of organizations that operate in an uncertain and complex environment are human resources which should have certain competencies, theoretical knowledge, practical skills and adhere to organization’s values which are considered to be important. It is well known that quality of human capital, as well as skilful management of this capital is nowadays the main area of building market position of contemporary enterprises. This paper is an attempt to assess the importance of human factor in development of SME sector companies. The carried out analyses indicate the great importance of human factor in development of small and medium-sized firms on the market. Entrepreneurs representing the surveyed entities value the importance of this factor and estimate that in the coming years human resources will play even greater role in the development of their companies.

The main issue presented in the article is the process of globalization (also described as a phase of global capitalism) seen from the ethical point of view. The process of globalization has been researched for a long time. Global ethics itself also seems to be already a separate field of study. Opening of national banking sector always started discussions and disputes. It is a common knowledge that countries in transition needed capital and technological support to improve economic competitiveness but there were some concerns about control over banking sector. Currently, this debate has started again. The aim of this work is to analyse the development of banking sectors of Visehrad countries in 1999-2010. In the first part described the process of foreign investment in these sectors. In the second part measures of functions fulfilled by a well developed sector were estimated and index of development of banking sectors of Visehrad countries was constructed.

Opis:
Development is a category characterised by dynamism and includes not only a quantitative, but also a qualitative element. This is a process of multiplying the number of possible choices to be made by every human being. The following three factors play a fundamental role on all levels of development: providing conditions which enable long and healthy life, a full access to information, and an access to means allowing for decent standard of living. It is of crucial importance to diagnose the socio-economic, endogenous, and exogenous factors of the regional development. The following are the most important characteristics of decentralised development: good use of local resources (related to raw materials and to human resources), development based on continuation (on tradition), social bonds. However, it is difficult to unambiguously specify the above-mentioned factors, for they operate simultaneously (not with the same impact, however). The effort of the regional community's members is of extreme importance in the development of almost every region. Since the level, speed, and structure of the regional development always results from human talents, knowledge, foresight, enterprise, initiative, and own expenditures to improve living conditions. Thus, the factor called "human capital" plays a fundamental role in the development of modern society and economy. This study will constitute an analysis of the issues from the regional perspective, i.e. of Lower Silesia Voivodeship

Istotnym problemem w zakresie kapitału relacyjnego jest brak jego precyzyjnej definicji. Autorki badań podjęły próbę stworzenia definicji obejmującej najważniejsze elementy, które pojawiają się w definicjach tej formy kapitału. Ponadto w artykule zaprezentowano poziom zainteresowania terminem kapitału relacyjnego w latach 2006-2017. Zastosowane metody badawcze obejmują analizę i krytykę piśmiennictwa oraz analizę popularności słów kluczowych z wybranych baz naukowych.
A major problem in the field of relational capital is its lack of a precise definition. The authors of studies have attempted to create a definition of the major elements that appear in the definitions of this form of capital. Furthermore, the article presents level of interest in relational capital in 2006-2017. The research methods used include the analysis and critique of literature and analysis of the popularity of keywords selected scientific bases.
