    Migrations constitute nowadays important and actual problem. The subject of the study are internal migrations among subregions (NUTS3) in province slaskie, considered from the spatial point of view. There are applied econometric migration models, i.e. gravitation and distance models, for inflow as well as for outflow of the migrants in subregions; an attempt was undertaken to indicate the factors influencing the level of migration in the province. It turned out that the most important factor for migrants flow are distances among the subregions. Unemployment rate in subregions seemed to hinder the migration processes while high level of wages and incomes stimulated them. Positive balance of migration was characteristic for low industrialized subregions, located in the periphery of the province, while in subregions of high level of industry the migration balance was negative.

    In the middle of last century, international migration in Europe have become a factor which significantly began to affect the population and its rate of change. International Movements in the north-west Europe significantly influenced the growth of population in the countries of southern slow decline in population, in the case of Eastern Europe accelerated decline in population. From the perspective of long-term, we see how the ethnic and cultural face of Europe. Is our country, we can expect similar changes in migration? This article presents the current and future trend in international migration in selected EU countries.

    In view of globalization process analysis of migration forms important and actual problem. The paper presents the results of statistic, econometric and demographic analysis of migration processes in Silesia province in Poland in 2010. Especially taken into account was problem of negative migration balance in the province, caused, as stated, by decreasing influx to the Silesia province from the others. There were estimated migration models of influx and outflow of the migrants. Finally, it has been stated that some of the migration laws formed in XIX century by E.G. Ravenstein are still actual in Poland, among others the law of relation between the level of migration and its distance, and the law of opposite flows of migration, while the law of higher migration of urban (vs. rural) inhabitants was no longer valid.

    Opis:
    Migrations of people from the Opole province to European Union countries, especially to Germany and the Netherlands have a significant impact on the labour market situation in the region. Analysis of the structure of unemployment in the Opole province, according to some socio-demographic characteristics, shows that the problem of unemployment threatens people in the specific situation on the labour market - young people under 25 years of age, people with low professional qualifications, or those who don't have any qualifications. A high percentage of unemployed women and long-termed unemployed people is observed. However, in the context of migration processes, there are clear spatial variations in size and structure of unemployment in the Opole province, which are closely linked to ethnicity of the population. The population of Silesia, which has dual nationality - Polish and German, since the early 90s of the last century has been leaving for a profit to the west of Europe. In the areas inhabited by this population the unemployment rate is much lower, which is associated with migration for economic reasons, but on the other hand these trips have contributed to the depletion of labour forces in terms of quantity and quality. Many local labour markets for many years have been struggling with a shortage of skilled labour force. Polish accession to the European Union made it possible to work abroad, which resulted in a further increase in international migration, and thus is reflected in the labour market situation in the region. Currently it is estimated that approximately 150 thousand of the Opole province residents stay abroad.

    The level of socio-economic, demographic processes and phenomena of migration processes are from each other dependent. Demographic processes and migration processes depend on the evolution of social and economic factors of the region, and therefore the main objective of the research was to assess the socio-economic development of Polish regions (provinces) with the use of synthetic measures to enable ranking and grouping investigated regions from the point of view of socio-economic, as well as to investigate whether there are significant links between socio-economic development and migration processes. The period of research was the year 2010. The data came from the Central Statistical Office, the Regional Data Bank.

    The article presents the characteristics and advantages of using graphical forms of data analysis confirmed by empirical study. It presents trends of visualization in the reference to the latest developments in the field of business intelligence. The article describes the criteria for assessing the value of data visualization methods used to obtain information from the data. Empirical analysis in the article aims to identify the areas where exploration can help to create solutions that improve the situation, for example in the labor market field.

    Zmiany zaludnienia województwa opolskiego w latach 1950-2011 są przykładem stanu populacji doświadczającej przez ponad 2 pokolenia najintensywniejszej w skali Polski emigracji dotyczącej rodzimych mieszkańców tej ziemi. Straty migracyjne zarówno w ramach migracji wewnętrznych, jak i zagranicznych wprowadziły populację mieszkańców Śląska Opolskiego w depopulację, która rozpoczęła się w połowie lat 80. XX w., na wiele lat wcześniej aniżeli pojawił się ujemny przyrost naturalny. Stwierdzenie tego stanu rzeczy było możliwe po wyznaczeniu nierejestrowanej migracji na podstawie konfrontacji danych spisów powszechnych i ewidencji bieżącej. Już dziś można mówić o domykaniu się pewnego cyklu demograficznego na Śląsku Opolskim od momentu częściowej wymiany mieszkańców po zakończeniu II wojny światowej i zasiedleniu jego obszaru przez ludność napływową do czasu ostatniego spisu powszechnego w 2011 r. Populacja licząca w momencie utworzenia województwa opolskiego na jego stałym terytorium około 700 tys. mieszkańców, największą liczebność osiągnęła na przełomie lat 70. i 80. XX w., nie przekraczając najprawdopodobniej liczby 1 mln osób, w 2011 r. po korekcie uwzględniającej nierejestrowaną migrację wynosiła 871 tys. W nadchodzących latach liczba mieszkańców województwa opolskiego może zmniejszyć się, jak wynika to z wyznaczonej funkcji wielomianow.
    The changes in population of the Opole province between 1950 and 2010 are the example of the condition of the population which has experienced for over 2 generations the most intensive emigration in Poland concerning native residents of this area. Migration losses both within internal and international migration brought on depopula tion of Opole Silesia, which started in the middle of 1980s, many years earlier than the natural decrease was observed. Finding this state of affairs was possible after calculating the unrecorded migration based on the comparison of census data and population registration system. We can already speak about closing a certain demographic cycle in Opole Silesia since the moment of partial exchange of inhabitants after the end of World War II and settling the area with new residents, till the recent census in 2011. The population which had about 700 thousand inhabitants in the moment when the Opole province was established on its permanent territory, reached the biggest number of residents at the end of 1970s and the beginning of 1980s, most probably never reaching 1 million inhabitants, and in 2011 after the correction which took into consideration the unrecorded migration the number was 871 thousand residents. In the coming years the number of inhabitants of the Opole province may decrease, as the multinomial function shows, even up to 750 thousand and in 2030 to 598 thousand, so considerably below the level from 1950.
